Chapter 879: 879 - Rescue mission (02)

The moment the confirmation arrived that the operation had been a complete success—with Qingyi extracted from the alliance without the illusion of his presence there suffering even the slightest crack—everything changed in the blink of an eye.

The passengers, who until then had looked like ordinary travelers, rose to their feet in perfect unison.

Their civilian clothes seemed to melt into thin air, strands of fabric unraveling before reweaving themselves over their bodies, molding into stealth suits of highly advanced technology.

The ship itself underwent its own metamorphosis, the hull emitting a low, constant hum as it reshaped into a stealth configuration.

Metal plates slid over one another with millimeter-level precision, sharp edges emerging as the vessel’s silhouette tapered into a form built to evade Qi radars and slice through the vacuum at the highest possible speed.

Qingyi felt the weight of the acceleration press gently against his body, the hum of the engines vibrating through the air around him. He remained motionless, holding the lotus position and continuing to cultivate in silence.

Gradually, his half-closed eyes drifted toward his status screen, the bluish glow dancing delicately across his irises.

He had, at that very moment, one hundred twenty million G lust points.

The day before, he had finally reached the pinnacle of the First Step of the Extinction Realm, with only a single step remaining before he could break through into the realm of the Star Sovereign.

He had burned through an absurd amount of wealth—both in the resources allocated to Lingxi and in what he needed for himself and his wives.

A veritable fortune, yes, but over the past month, just a few nights of intense sex with Akane had been more than enough to make up for it, so he wasn’t the least bit worried.

It was a shame he hadn’t yet reached the Star Sovereign Realm; however, with practically infinite resources at his disposal and a body essentially immune to purity issues, he felt no rush whatsoever.

As soon as he completed this operation and had Ruxue’s master safely by his side, he would begin preparing for the next advancement.

Qingyi let out a soft sigh, retrieving a small pill for mental calm from his spatial ring and swallowing it without hesitation.

Almost immediately, he felt his thoughts slow, his mind growing clearer. Closing his eyes completely, he plunged back into cultivation.

The agents accompanying him maintained absolute silence, respecting his concentration without producing so much as a rustle of fabric.

There were twelve of them in all, each at least a Cosmic Emperor.

They all shared a single mission: to get Qingyi out of there at any cost, should anything fail to go according to plan.

They constituted one of the best-trained elite forces in the entire Martial Alliance—warriors prepared to lay down their very lives for the cause without so much as batting an eye.

For them, falling in battle while protecting a figure like the Divine Sword Fairy was not a burden, but rather an immeasurable honor.

And so, the journey continued in silence.

About twelve hours after leaving the alliance’s territory, with the ship tearing through the vacuum at colossal speed and its engines roaring ceaselessly, propelling it faster and faster, they finally reached the border between the orthodox world and the demonic world.

At that very moment, the pilots killed all the engines.

One by one, they cut the ship’s power and control systems, leaving only a single light burning in the passenger cabin, along with a few navigation instruments that would alert them if the vessel strayed off course.

This would serve to minimize the ship’s Qi signature as much as possible.

Combined with the stealth systems, the vessel’s high speed, and its relatively small size, this would make it virtually impossible to detect.

They were already on a course that would carry them directly to the target; from there, they would just need to be patient.

The next eight hours passed as if they were a single second.

The engines roared softly once more, coming back to life as the pilots adjusted the ship’s speed with precision.

The vessel docked on a nearby asteroid, gliding silently into a cavern hidden within its rugged surface, the rocky walls swallowing it whole.

"Young Lord Qingyi." One of the pilots stepped out of the control cabin, approaching with steady strides and calling out to the young dragon, whose eyes remained closed.

"This is as close as we can get to the Black Palace. Any closer, and we’ll be within range of the high-level radars surrounding the heart of the demonic territory," the pilot explained, his voice low.

"Just teleport to the target, retrieve the young lady, and return here. We’ll depart the moment the mission is complete."

As Qingyi slowly rose to his feet, stretching his body after the long hours of meditation, the pilot offered a formal military salute, his fist pressed firmly against his chest.

"Very well." Qingyi retrieved a small talisman from his spatial ring; the yellowed paper emitted a faint, steady glow in his palm.

"If anything goes wrong and you’re discovered while I’m away, tear this talisman. I’ll know immediately and will try to escape in another direction. It contains spatial arrays crafted by my own hands, capable of teleporting the entire ship far away from here."

The pilot didn’t hesitate, accepting the talisman with both hands as a sign of respect.

"May the heavens be with you," the pilot declared, and all the other agents echoed the same words in perfect unison, their voices resonating through the cabin like a single prayer.

Qingyi smiled slightly, already channeling his spatial Qi, invisible filaments extending through the vacuum as he sought to detect the exact location of the Black Palace.

He wished to see the look on the Heavenly Demon’s face when he discovered that the corpse-like beauty had vanished.

It would be a beautiful sight. A pity he wouldn’t be able to stay long enough to witness it.
