The Demon with Holy Radiance

Chapter 637 - 359: Do You Believe It?

Theoretically, the Yang Side of the Origin Realm—the Xian Origin Land—had long been stripped away.

And in the Xian Origin Land, the Gold Sun he’d obtained had been newly born. This meant no one had ever acquired this Forbidden Artifact—one of the Three Spiritual Lights—before, so it should have been complete.

Since it should have been complete, any remaining parts ought to have been in the Xian Origin Land as well. They shouldn’t exist in the Origin Realm. And yet, a piece had just appeared there.

This presented two possibilities, one major and one minor.

First, another Gold Sun existed in the Origin Realm. While not the same one he had obtained, it shared the same origin.

But this was the least likely possibility.

This was because, judging from the time Yang An obtained the Gold Sun in the Deep World—the moment of its birth—the Central Continent had not yet been sealed. The Five Great Celestial Sects still stood. In other words, the Yin and Yang sides of the Origin Realm had not yet been separated, meaning there could only have been one Gold Sun.

In that case, this possibility didn’t hold up.

That made the second possibility the most likely: someone had taken the other part of the Gold Sun!

It was possible that this person had either brought a piece of the Gold Sun from the Xian Origin Land to the Origin Realm, or they had taken it even before the realm’s Yin and Yang sides were separated.

This, in turn, gave rise to a new question.

Previously, Yang An had assumed the Xian Origin Land was perhaps a lingering afterimage of events that had once transpired in the Origin Realm. He believed that after it was stripped from the Origin Realm, it lost all connection to it.

But this second possibility raised a question: could it be that it wasn’t an afterimage, but that a real connection still existed? As if the space-time between the two locations was still linked?

It was just like when the Forbidden Calamity had sensed his presence within the Bow Lady’s Consciousness Realm and laid a trap in advance.

Since he couldn’t be certain, he had to keep this possibility in mind. And that left only one question:

Who? Who took the other part of the Forbidden Artifact, the Gold Sun?

Of the figures from the previous era Yang An had encountered, there were only three: He, Huan, and the Forbidden Calamity.

He ruled out the Forbidden Calamity first. His initial contact with it had definitely happened after the Central Continent was sealed, making it the least likely suspect.

As for Huan, it was sealed in the Earth Demon Cliff and couldn’t leave, so it was powerless to act. Besides, they’d had no contact when Yang An obtained the Gold Sun in the Xian Origin Land.

More importantly, the Huan in the Earth Demon Cliff hadn’t recognized him at their first meeting.

The most likely candidate... was his master, Boundary Repairer He of the Earth Immortal Dao Sect! Life Crane!

When he previously sensed the missing piece of the Gold Sun in the Golden Thread Pavilion, Yang An had wondered why it would appear there.

He recalled what he’d once learned about the Treasure Temple Domain: only the Golden Thread Pavilion was said to have a legendary Immortal Platform expert.

If he connected this Immortal Platform expert with Life Crane, then everything would fall into place. It would make perfect sense that Life Crane, an Immortal Platform expert, was the one who sealed Huan in the Earth Demon Cliff. After all, the power Huan had displayed was only at the Insect Dao level, far from the Immortal Platform.

This made Yang An all the more certain that Life Crane had appeared.

So, before coming to the Golden Thread Pavilion, he had already prepared himself. He knew this was something he couldn’t avoid.

He needed the Gold Sun to break through to the Insect Dao. Since there was only one place calling to him, he had no choice but to go.

Although the matter was extremely risky, the fact that Life Crane had chosen to reappear and lure him here with the Gold Sun—rather than seeking him out directly—proved one thing: the old man wanted to maintain the upper hand.

Based on his understanding of Life Crane, if his master wanted to kill him, he could have done so long ago with his immense power as an Immortal Platform expert. Why would he wait until now?

The only other possibility was that the old man had another motive. Perhaps he was laying out some grand scheme, and Yang An was just a single piece in his game.

Because if it was true that Life Crane had taken the missing piece of the Gold Sun, it would mean Yang An had been caught in his master’s scheme for a very long time—long before he had even started cultivating, and even before the moment he first met Elder Life Crane.

Since that was the case, he couldn’t avoid it, and he currently lacked the power to change it. He might as well choose to play along, making the enhancement of his own strength his absolute top priority.

"So, that means... what you did just now..."

After listening to Yang An’s explanation, the Bow Lady’s breathing grew heavy, and she felt her Scalp tingle with dread.

Even though she was just a bow and didn’t actually have a Scalp.

Yang An sighed and gave a wry smile.

"That’s right. I was putting on an act."
