The Demon with Holy Radiance

Chapter 649 363: More Than Just One Kind

It was only called the Three Spiritual Light because it was chosen and created by the Golden Sun Daoist.

From the scientific perspective of his past life, light is an electromagnetic wave that can be generated in many ways. By combining that knowledge with this world's Cultivation System and the Power of Rules, he was confident he could find other powers to rival, or even surpass, the Three Spiritual Light.

But for now, he still needed to explore and conduct his research.

That was why he'd turned his attention to the Cultivation Methods of these cultivators. Given his mastery over the Golden Sun—one of the Three Spiritual Light—it was a promising approach.

"What? You're saying they've already taken Dragonfly Bamboo Peak?"

Wen Zhao was in the training grounds on the Floating Island, the Golden Thread Pavilion's temporary base, when he received a shocking report from a subordinate.

The team under Yang An's command had completed the mission he had assigned them, and had done so in an incredibly short amount of time.

Wen Zhao's expression immediately became dark and uncertain.

He already knew Yang An's Cultivation Level had reached the Insect Dao Realm, but he had only just entered it. Completing the assigned mission should have been incredibly difficult for him.

Great Virtue Temple also had cultivators in the Insect Dao Realm. Even though Yang An had reached the Insect Dao Realm, that didn't mean he could defeat another expert at the same level.

And even if he did manage it, it certainly wouldn't have been this fast.

He had given them a deadline of nightfall. That way, as long as Yang An failed to complete the mission by then, he would have an excuse—compromising the war effort—to punish him as he saw fit.

But the news that came back was completely unexpected. Not only had Yang An taken Dragonfly Bamboo Peak, but he had done it so quickly that there were still an hour or two left before nightfall.

"No one helped him? Did that guy, Zhuan Yu, secretly intervene?"

Wen Zhao grew suspicious. After all, he refused to believe Yang An could have accomplished this all on his own.

But his subordinate couldn't answer the question. How could they possibly know if Zhuan Yu had made a move?

Wen Zhao pondered for a moment, then immediately gave his subordinate another order:

"Tell them not to rest. Press the advantage! They are to take the Glazed Tower, dozens of miles away, before dawn!"

The Glazed Tower was located in a region close to Great Virtue Temple where enemy forces were heavily concentrated. It had served as one of the temple's remote training grounds and was also one of the toughest nuts to crack in this war.

The subordinate quickly accepted the order and left. After the man was gone, Wen Zhao mulled it over for a moment, then vanished on the spot.

He was going to find Zhuan Yu. Regardless of whether Zhuan Yu had secretly helped Yang An, he had to go and intercept him.

...

"We have to take the Glazed Tower up ahead before dawn?!"

Back on Dragonfly Bamboo Peak, the messenger had returned at top speed to deliver Wen Zhao's next command. The assembled cultivators were stunned speechless. A wave of fury washed over them, and they were on the verge of cursing Wen Zhao and his entire lineage.

They had just taken Dragonfly Bamboo Peak, and now they were being ordered to attack the Great Virtue Temple's Glazed Tower without a moment's rest.

Leaving aside the fact that they were given no time to rest, could a team like theirs really take the Glazed Tower?

Many of the Golden Thread Pavilion's front lines were at a long-standing stalemate, and a major reason for that was the large number of Glazed Towers on the outskirts of Great Virtue Temple's territory. Not only were there cultivators of the Insect Dao Realm stationed near those towers, but they also contained powerful Arrays capable of temporarily merging the Power of Rules of those damn baldies, creating a terrifying combined force.

Attacking Dragonfly Bamboo Peak was one thing—at least they'd succeeded. But ordering them to attack the Glazed Tower? That was sending them to their deaths, pure and simple.

In that moment, all eyes turned to Yang An as one.

Yang An had just casually performed Purification on a Cultivation Method. He was holding it, mentally running through its forms, trying to quickly master its profound mysteries.

Feeling the weight of everyone's gazes, he snapped out of his thoughts. A frown creased his brow, followed by an expression of clear impatience as he turned to the messenger.

"Go back and tell him I'm busy. He can go himself."
