The dragon's harem

Chapter 2212: Merlin’s Test Lab

Merlin’s lab had been separated into several sections, and the one Arad, Nina, and Meryem landed in was where she studied Nina to find a cure for her insatiable hunger. For the time being, Nina is living on Arad’s flesh, but that is a temporary fix rather than a full solution.

The lab was dark, filled with counters and alchemical instruments from one corner to the other, but what drew Arad’s attention was the massive pile of scrolls, books, and scattered research papers.

"This place is messy." He lifted his hand and summoned an orb of fire to illuminate the place. "I guess she didn’t get to tidying the place yet." This lab had just been built, and even if Merlin could have had people tidy this lab, it wouldn’t have helped her at all, as she needed to be the one to set everything up.

Meryem looked around. And then poked a jar that had a massive frog inside it. "What do you even do here? She is not cutting you open like a lab rat, right?" She looked toward Nina with a worried face and got a giggle in response. "Of course not. It is more accurate to call this place a kitchen."

In this lab, Merlin gathered several plants, herbs, and powerful specimens to use as food for Nina and see how they fare. She had wild demons from the abyss, sinners from hell, large and powerful S-rank monsters, and even a few pieces of abominable flesh that she sourced from Sena.

Merlin took all of those, fed them to Nina, and then studied the changes in her blood to see if they could hold up to Arad’s flesh, and until now, nothing was even close. To match one kilogram of Arad’s flesh, Nina would need to consume almost ten tons of demon spiders, or a million regular humans.

Of course, Nina didn’t need to eat all of that, since as a Tarrasque, she mainly ate dirt and stone. The danger of her hunger comes from the fact that if she started rampaging and consuming the ground, she would plough her way through the entire empire like an unstoppable natural disaster.

Nina walked around the entire lab for a while and soon found the light switch, which was a tiny blue crystal that Merlin had on the edge of the desk. As she pressed it, the entire place lit up, and a large dish magically spawned on the table in the centre of the lab.

The plate was black, carved from basalt, and the bubbling soup in it looked so disgusting that even Arad was put off by its smell, but Nina’s eyes flashed golden as she saw it. Meryem closed her nose, and Arad growled. "Guh, demon worm flesh, crushed abyssal bones, and dark mist flowers?"

All of those were ingredients from the abyss, and ones that even Arad didn’t like because of how saturated they were with demonic magic. Not even demons would eat this if they had anything else to eat, so he was surprised when Nina easily grabbed the bowl and downed it in a single go.

At this time, Nina’s taste buds had changed greatly from when she was human, and now she only understood the caloric value of food when she was hungry. The more energy the food had, the sweeter it tasted to her. Once she is satiated, her taste buds will shift back to their normal state.

It was the same as with humans. If you take someone and starve them, even just a bit, then almost anything half-decent would taste like an exquisite banquet. If someone didn’t eat for days, then just a piece of old, hard bread would taste like heaven.

"Augh!" But even then, Nina still gagged right after swallowing the entire bowl. Even she didn’t appreciate the taste. "This thing smells like rotten fish and tastes like garlic, vinegar, and a bucket of hot pepper all mixed with old olive oil."

She then approached the counter, picked a tiny needle, and poked her finger, quickly touching an empty scroll with it. The magic in the lab came to life, and the scroll started floating on its own as Nina’s blood turned into black ink and inscribed several magic runes on it.

Nina gave the runes a look as if she could read them, and then sighed. In the middle of the circles, a number was written in red, and it was 6. That number meant that this bowl of food had an equivalent energy to 6% of the same weight of Arad’s flesh.

"This is a failure. The last dish scored 9." She looked back at Arad. "Merlin would have to look at this scroll for more details." She threw the paper back on the table and sighed.

Meryem blinked several times in surprise. "Wait, that’s all? You just eat that disgusting thing, pour blood on a paper, and it’s done?" She couldn’t believe this was actual research, but that only spoke to Merlin’s mastery of magic.

"Yes, all thanks to Merlin’s genius. I can’t follow complicated instructions, so she simplified it to this point." Nina then approached Arad. "What is she doing now?"

Arad scratched his chin. "Upstairs in her private room with my incarnation." He was still entertaining her there. Nina looked at him for a second, and then smiled. "Then I’ll pay her a visit. What will you do?"

"If you two are going up, then I’ll head to the Abyss. My Nymph incarnation there might need help exploring the deeper layers." The lower layers of the Abyss were dangerous even for him, and not because of powerful monsters and the deadly environment, but because they were all engulfed in a never-ending stream of demonic magic that could infect and turn all living beings into demons. That stream was called the Miasma by the native demons.

Arad’s incarnation disappeared almost immediately as Nina told him he could leave, and so the two were left alone. "Want to steal a bit of fun from Merlin?" Nina asked, and Meryem licked her lips. "I’m always up for some."

The two rushed out of the lab, climbed the stairs as if they were racing against each other, and stood in front of Merlin’s door in less than five minutes. They could hear Merlin’s loud moans booming from the inside, and that only got them more excited to jump in.

Nina grabbed the door’s handle, twisted it, and then pushed it open. The first thing she saw inside was Merlin on all fours, screaming for more at the top of her lungs as Arad violently thrusted inside. Even though her pale peach was already bright red, the exhilarated look on Merlin’s face only said she wanted it harder.

But that wasn’t all. On the bed beside them, both Ombre and Neige were already fast asleep with all of their holes stretched wide open and overflowing, and so were the twelve maids fallen all around the room.

As Arad made one last thrust inside Merlin and filled her insides until her stomach stretched a bit, he looked toward Nina and Meryem. "Right on time." Nina’s savage and barbaric genes kicked on almost instantly, and she ripped her clothes with one move as she jumped at Arad.
