The Eclipsed Order

Chapter 131: Fifteen-tailed Fox Astra

Chapter 131: Chapter 131: Fifteen-tailed Fox Astra

The five Fallen Ascendants moved at the same time.

There was no signal from their master, no shouted command, and no hesitation between them. Their bodies simply responded to the order they had been given, each one stepping forward with the confidence of a creature that had already forgotten what fear was supposed to feel like.

Astra watched them approach without moving from her position.

She looked at Herrera.

"You must be Lady Astra. Congratulations on obtaining your human form."

Herrera gave a graceful bow, her expression carrying the same refined smile she wore whenever she was about to do something unpleasant to someone.

"Thank you, but do we really need to work together against creatures this weak?"

Astra’s tone was calm rather than insulting, almost as though she were genuinely wondering whether the effort was necessary.

Herrera placed one hand against her cheek and smiled.

"My, I was thinking the same thing. Master shouldn’t have to dirty his hands with such insignificant creatures."

Astra glanced toward Ares.

"Master said he wanted to see what I could do. If possible, I’d like to fight them myself."

"Of course."

Herrera’s smile widened.

"In that case, I’ll make certain none of them interferes."

She raised both hands.

Threads appeared.

They were so fine that they were almost impossible to see at first, but as Herrera moved her fingers, countless strands of mana stretched outward from her fingertips and disappeared into the surrounding air. A moment later, they formed a vast spherical boundary around the battlefield, enclosing the entire clearing in a web of translucent threads.

The barrier did not merely prevent escape.

Every thread was connected to another, forming several overlapping layers that monitored movement from every direction. Anything attempting to pass through would be caught, restrained, and sliced apart before it could reach the outside.

"There."

Herrera lowered her hands.

"Now no one will leave this place alive."

One of the Fallen Ascendants immediately rushed toward Astra.

Its body had once resembled that of a humanoid warrior, but corruption had distorted it beyond recognition. Dark growths covered its shoulders and chest, while its arms had become unnaturally long, ending in enormous claws capable of tearing through stone.

The ground cracked beneath its first step.

A second step sent fragments of earth flying.

Then it disappeared.

Astra’s eyes shifted slightly.

She saw it.

The creature reappeared directly in front of her, its claw already descending toward her head.

Astra raised one hand.

"Abyssal Prison."

The air stopped.

A black circle appeared beneath the creature’s feet, but it was nothing like an ordinary magical circle. Its outer ring was formed from overlapping crescent shapes, while the inner markings resembled countless closed eyes arranged around a central void.

The moment the circle completed itself, the creature’s movement came to a halt.

Not because it had been physically restrained.

Space itself had been compressed around it.

The creature struggled.

"GRRRAAAH!"

Its muscles bulged as it tried to force its way forward, but every movement only caused the invisible pressure around its body to tighten further.

Cracks spread through the ground beneath it.

Astra slowly closed her fingers.

The black circle folded inward.

The space surrounding the Fallen Ascendant collapsed into a miniature abyss, crushing its corrupted energy from every direction while preventing it from escaping through regeneration or teleportation.

The creature screamed as its body was forced into the center of the prison.

Even the Unmade standing at the center of the clearing raised an eyebrow.

"What..."

Astra released her hand.

The prison vanished.

The Fallen Ascendant dropped heavily to one knee, its body barely holding together.

Astra looked at it for a moment.

Then she lifted her hand again.

A new magical circle appeared behind her.

This one was completely different.

Its outer ring resembled overlapping waves, while the inner markings formed three rotating spear-like symbols. Blue light gathered inside the circle, becoming denser and denser until the surrounding air began to tremble.

"Tidal Spear."

The spell fired.

A column of compressed water appeared in the shape of a gigantic spear, its surface rotating at such speed that the surrounding air screamed from the pressure.

The Fallen Ascendant attempted to raise its arms.

Too late.

The spear struck.

BOOOOOOM!

A massive shockwave erupted through the clearing.

The corrupted ground was ripped apart, yet the surrounding mountains remained intact as Astra’s control prevented the force from spreading beyond her intended target.

When the mist cleared, the Fallen Ascendant was gone.

The man stared at the empty space where his subordinate had been standing.

Astra lowered her hand.

"First."

The remaining four exchanged glances.

For the first time, hesitation appeared among them.

Astra noticed.

"Oh?"

She smiled faintly.

"So you can feel fear after all."

The next Fallen charged.

Then another.

And another.

They attacked from different directions, combining their abilities in an attempt to overwhelm her before she could cast another spell.

Astra simply stepped between them.

Her movements were deceptively simple.

She shifted her body away from one strike, caught another attack with a thin layer of condensed water, then released a burst of pressure that sent the attacker crashing into the ground. A second creature appeared behind her, but Astra twisted around and released a narrow wave of energy that severed its connection to the corrupted mana sustaining its body.

The third attempted to regenerate.

Astra raised her hand.

A small circle appeared beneath its body.

The markings rotated once.

Its regeneration stopped.

"Celestial Purge."

White light descended.

The creature vanished.

The fourth tried to retreat.

Herrera’s threads caught it before it could take three steps.

SHNK!

The Fallen Ascendant froze.

Herrera smiled.

"Where are you going?"

The threads tightened.

Astra finished the creature with a concentrated blast of energy that disappeared almost immediately after striking it.

Only one remained.

Astra looked toward it.

The final Fallen Ascendant took a step backward.

Astra raised both hands.

This time, the magical circle that appeared above her was enormous.

Its outer ring was formed from seven rotating arcs, each carrying different symbols, while the center resembled a miniature sun surrounded by countless celestial markings. The entire circle rotated slowly, gathering an immense amount of energy into a single point.

The light became brighter.

The corrupted sky above them was illuminated.

Astra’s expression remained calm.

"Heavenly Incineration."

The light descended.

For a brief moment, the entire clearing became white.

The corrupted creature disappeared beneath the descending radiance, its corrupted energy erased before it could spread anywhere else.

When the light finally faded, nothing remained.

Astra lowered her hands.

"That was the last one."

Silence followed.
