Chapter 165: The Strongest Kick in High Heels

Chapter 165: Chapter 165: The Strongest Kick in High Heels

The child was running.

He wasn’t running because he knew where he was going.

He was running because everything behind him was terrifying.

His small legs moved as quickly as they could across the ruined street, his breathing coming in short, desperate gasps while tears streamed down his face. His clothes were torn from the chaos, his knees were scraped from falling earlier, and he kept looking over his shoulder despite knowing that doing so only made him slower.

"Mom!"

His voice cracked.

"Mom!"

Several meters behind him, his mother was trying to reach him.

She had fallen during the initial panic and was now struggling to get back on her feet, her face pale as she watched the enormous creature pursuing her son.

"Run!"

Her voice trembled.

"Don’t stop! Keep running!"

The child looked back again.

"I can’t!"

His foot caught against a piece of broken stone.

He stumbled.

"Ah!"

He fell forward and hit the ground.

The sound of his cry was immediately swallowed by the roar of the creature approaching behind him.

The Orc raised its enormous weapon.

Its body was massive, easily twice the size of an ordinary human, with thick green muscles covered by crude armor and a face distorted by the bloodlust that had taken over it. Several other Orcs were already fighting nearby, but this one had broken away from the group and was now standing directly over the fallen child.

The boy looked up.

His face went pale.

"Mom..."

His mother froze.

She was too far away.

"NO!"

She screamed.

"PLEASE!"

The Orc raised its weapon higher.

"Somebody help him!"

Several Awakeners nearby heard her.

One of them immediately turned.

His face tightened.

But he couldn’t move.

He was already fighting another Orc.

The creature’s massive axe crashed against his weapon.

CLANG!

The Awakener staggered backward.

His arms trembled from the impact.

"Dammit!"

He gritted his teeth and blocked another strike.

CLANG!

His eyes shifted toward the child.

The Orc standing over the boy was already preparing to strike.

He couldn’t get there.

There was simply too much distance between them.

"Someone!"

Another Awakener shouted.

"Get the kid!"

Nobody could.

The Orc raised its weapon.

The child’s eyes squeezed shut.

"Mom!"

His mother screamed his name.

Then—

Something struck the Orc from the side.

BOOOOOOM!

The creature’s enormous body was launched sideways.

It flew several meters before crashing through the remains of a storefront and disappearing beneath a cloud of dust.

For a moment, nobody understood what had happened.

The child slowly opened his eyes.

Someone was standing between him and the destroyed storefront.

A young woman.

She had appeared so suddenly that none of the Awakeners had even seen her approach.

Her long black hair flowed down her back, smooth and glossy beneath the afternoon light, with several strands falling naturally around her face. Her crimson eyes were calm, almost indifferent, and her features carried an elegance that seemed completely out of place amid the chaos surrounding them.

Her clothing was even more conspicuous.

A fitted black dress followed the shape of her body without appearing overly elaborate, the skirt ending above her knees with a long slit running along one side of her leg. The design exposed much more of her legs than would have been practical for ordinary combat, and the black heels on her feet looked even less appropriate for a battlefield.

Yet she stood perfectly balanced.

Not even a trace of hesitation appeared in her posture.

The woman glanced down.

"Are you hurt?"

The child stared at her.

Then he shook his head.

"N-no..."

"Good."

She looked toward the distant woman.

"Your mother is over there, right?"

The boy nodded quickly.

"Mom!"

The woman immediately ran toward him.

She dropped to her knees and pulled him into her arms.

"Are you okay?"

"I’m okay!"

The woman looked toward the stranger who had saved him.

"Thank you!"

She bowed repeatedly.

"Thank you so much!"

The young woman waved her hand.

"Take him and get somewhere safe."

"Yes!"

The mother grabbed her son’s hand.

"Let’s go!"

They hurried away.

The woman watched them disappear into the crowd.

Then she turned around.

Her expression changed.

The calm smile vanished.

Her crimson eyes settled on the Orc she had kicked away.

The creature was slowly crawling out of the rubble.

It spat blood onto the ground.

"GRAAAAH!"

It grabbed its weapon and charged.

The woman didn’t reach for a weapon.

She simply raised her hands.

One of the nearby Awakeners stared.

"She’s unarmed?"

Another looked at her dress.

"Is she seriously wearing heels?"

"Who cares about the heels?!"

The first man snapped.

"She’s going to get herself killed!"

The Orc swung.

The woman stepped forward.

Instead of retreating from the attack, she entered the creature’s range.

The axe passed behind her.

She ducked beneath it, placed one hand against the Orc’s abdomen, and pivoted sharply.

Her body rotated beneath the creature’s arm.

Then—

THUD!

Her heel struck its ribs.

The force of the kick lifted the Orc several centimeters from the ground.

Before it could recover, she planted her foot and pushed herself backward.

Her body rose.

She tucked one leg beneath herself, rotated backward through the air, and extended the opposite leg.

Her heel struck the Orc beneath the jaw.

BOOM!

The creature’s head snapped backward.

The woman completed the rotation.

She landed lightly on one foot.

The skirt of her dress moved with the motion before settling back against her legs.

She barely looked at the Orc.

It staggered.

She was already moving again.

The woman rushed forward and planted one foot against the ground.

Her body tilted.

She launched herself upward.

For a moment, she was completely airborne.

She rotated sideways, turning her body around the Orc’s shoulder line before extending both legs.

One foot struck its chest.

The second followed immediately.

BAAM!

The Orc was thrown backward.

It crashed into the street.

Several Awakeners simply stared.

"..."

One of them slowly lowered his weapon.

"What..."

Another blinked.

"Did she just do a double kick?"

"I think so."

"While wearing heels?"

Nobody answered.

The woman landed.

She immediately turned.

Another Orc charged from her blind side.

She noticed it without looking.

At the last instant, she lowered her body.

The creature’s weapon passed above her head.

She placed both hands against the ground.

Her legs rose.

For an instant, she was upside down.

Then she twisted.

Her right heel struck the Orc’s face.

CRACK!

The creature’s head snapped sideways.

The woman used the momentum of the kick to complete a backflip.

She landed behind it.

The Orc turned.

She was already gone.

A nearby Awakener finally understood what he was witnessing.

"She’s not an ordinary Awakener."

"No."

Another man swallowed.

"That’s professional combat."

The first Awakener stared.

"At least A-Rank level."

A third man wasn’t listening.

His eyes remained fixed on the woman.

"She’s..."

His face slowly became red.

"She’s really..."

The Awakener beside him glanced over.

"What?"

He pointed.

"Her legs."

The other man stared at him.

"You idiot, focus on the Orcs!"

"I’m trying!"

"You’ve been staring for quite a while now!"

"I-Ican’t help it!"

A fist struck him in the back of the head.

"OW!"

A thin line of blood suddenly appeared beneath his nose.

His companion stared at him.

"Wait...You’re bleeding."

The man wiped his nose.

He looked at the blood on his fingers.

"...I’m fine."

"You pervert."

The surrounding civilians couldn’t help staring either.

The young woman was moving through the battlefield as though the chaos around her had no effect on her whatsoever.

Every movement was deliberate.

Every kick was placed exactly where it needed to be.

She didn’t rely on raw strength.

She used momentum.

Angles.

Balance.

Timing.

Her body flowed naturally from one movement into another, with acrobatic transitions that would have been difficult even for a trained martial artist, yet she performed them while wearing a fitted dress and heels without losing her footing once.

Another Orc rushed her.

She jumped.

Her body rotated.

Her leg extended.

The heel struck its temple.

BOOM!

The Orc collapsed.

She landed.

Immediately, another came from the side.

She slid beneath its attack.

The hem of her dress moved with her.

Her left leg swept outward.

The Orc’s knee buckled.

She rose from the slide and drove her elbow into its throat.

THUD!

The creature staggered.

She grabbed its arm, twisted her body, and used its own momentum to throw it over her shoulder.

CRASH!

It hit the ground.

She didn’t stop.

Another Orc charged.

She stepped onto the fallen creature’s back.

Then jumped.

Her body rotated high above the battlefield.

She turned once.

Twice.

Then extended one leg.

Her heel crashed directly into the approaching Orc’s chest.

BOOOOOOM!

The creature flew backward.

The Awakener who had been watching her earlier simply stood there with his mouth open.

"What kind of movement is that?"

His companion answered without looking away.

"I don’t know."

"She’s like a professional fighter."

"How can she moves like that. Even with that dress... just who is she?"

The woman didn’t answer.

She was already moving toward the next Orc.

One after another, the creatures fell.

The Awakeners who had been struggling to hold the line suddenly found themselves with room to breathe.

"She’s clearing them!"

"Then stop staring and finish the ones behind her!"

The remaining Awakeners finally snapped back into action.

With the pressure reduced, they began coordinating their attacks properly.

One Awakener raised his shield.

"Left side!"

Another immediately attacked.

"Got it!"

His spear pierced through an Orc’s shoulder.

Another Awakener struck from behind.

"Next!"

The battlefield gradually shifted.

What had been a desperate defense became an organized counterattack.

And at the center of it all, the strange woman continued fighting without a weapon.

Then—

The ground shook.

BOOOOOOM!

Everyone stopped.

A massive figure emerged from the Gate.

It was larger than every Orc that had appeared before it.

Its body was covered in thick black armor, while enormous tusks extended from its lower jaw. A huge battle axe rested across one shoulder, and the pressure surrounding its body was immediately different from that of the ordinary Orcs.

An Awakener’s face went pale.

"...That’s an Orc General."

Another stared at the creature.

"An A-Rank monster."

The surrounding Awakeners fell silent.

The Orc General stepped forward.

The ground cracked beneath its feet.

"How are we supposed to fight that?"

"We can’t."

One of the Awakeners clenched his weapon.

"Even together, we’re not enough."

"Where’s the reinforcement?"

"The nearby guild should have been contacted already."

"They’re coming."

"They’d better hurry."

The Orc General raised its axe.

The woman stood several meters away.

She looked at the monster.

Then at the approaching civilians.

Then back at the Orc.

She sighed.

"That’s troublesome."

The Orc General roared.

"GRAAAAAAAAAH!"

It charged.

The woman disappeared.

The next instant, she was above its head.

The Awakeners looked up.

"She jumped that high?!"

Her body rotated in the air.

One leg extended downward.

The heel struck the Orc General directly against the side of its head.

BOOOOOOM!

The Orc General’s enormous body staggered sideways.

The woman landed several meters away.

Before the creature could recover, she was already moving again.

It swung its axe.

She dropped low.

The enormous blade passed over her head.

She slid beneath the attack, her black heels scraping against the pavement as she moved between the Orc General’s legs.

Then she twisted.

Her body rotated almost horizontally.

One leg extended.

THUD!

Her heel struck the back of its knee.

The Orc General’s leg buckled.

The woman used the opening immediately.

She planted one hand against the ground and kicked upward.

Her heel struck its abdomen.

BOOM!

The Orc General was lifted slightly from the ground.

The woman followed.

She jumped.

Her body rotated.

Her dress and long black hair swept around her as she turned through the air.

Then she extended both legs.

BAAAM!

The double kick struck the Orc General’s chest.

The massive creature flew backward.

It crashed into the ground hard enough to leave a crater.

The Awakeners stared.

Nobody spoke.

One of them finally whispered,

"She’s fighting an A-Rank monster..."

Another answered,

"Like it’s a training dummy."

The first man swallowed.

"Even her movement speed..."

He shook his head.

"I can’t follow her."

Another Awakener looked at the woman.

"She hasn’t even used a weapon."

"She doesn’t need one."

The man who had earlier been distracted by her appearance suddenly realized he was bleeding from the nose.

His companion stared at him.

"What the hell is wrong with you?"

He wiped his nose.

"I don’t know what happened."

Before they could argue further, a series of engines could be heard approaching from the main road.

Several large vehicles stopped near the battlefield.

The doors opened.

A group of Awakeners stepped out.

Their equipment was significantly more advanced than that of the people already fighting.

The emblem displayed on their armor was unmistakable.

Apex Guild.

One of the arriving Awakeners immediately looked toward the Orc General.

"Orc General?"

Another stepped forward.

"Everyone, move back. We’ll take—"

He stopped.

His eyes shifted toward the battlefield.

The Orc General was already charging again.

And the black-haired woman was already meeting it.

She jumped.

The Orc General swung.

She twisted through the attack.

Her body rotated sideways.

Her heel struck its shoulder.

BOOM!

The monster staggered.

She landed.

The Orc General roared and swung again.

She ducked.

The axe passed over her.

She stepped forward.

A kick struck its ribs.

THUD!

The Orc General stumbled.

One of the Apex Guild members stared.

"...Who is that?"

Another shook his head.

"I have no idea."

"Is she an Awakener?"

"Obviously."

"How can she flights wearing like that...?"

Their leader narrowed his eyes.

"She’s fighting an A-Rank Orc General alone."

Another member watched her movement carefully.

"She’s not even using a weapon."

"No."

"She’s using pure martial technique."

The leader’s expression became serious.

"That level of physical ability shouldn’t be possible for an ordinary A-Rank."

Another member looked at her outfit.

"She’s doing all of that in heels."

The leader glanced at him.

"...Is that really what you’re focusing on?"

"I mean, look at her!"

The woman jumped again.

Her long black hair swept through the air as she rotated above the Orc General.

She brought her leg down.

BOOM!

Her heel struck the monster’s shoulder.

The Orc General roared and swung upward.

She twisted.

The blade passed beneath her.

She landed on one foot.

Then immediately pushed off.

Her body rose again.

A second rotation.

A third.

She extended her leg.

The heel struck the Orc General’s jaw.

CRACK!

The monster’s head snapped backward.

It stumbled.

The Apex Guild members remained frozen.

"She’s actually dominating it."

"An A-Rank Orc General."

"By herself."

"Just who is she?"

No one had an answer.

The woman finally glanced toward them.

She noticed the arriving reinforcement.

Her expression change.

She looked at the Orc General.

Sigh.

"I don’t have time for this anymore."

The monster roared and charged once more.

The woman lowered her stance.

Her heels touched the ground.

For the first time, she stopped moving.

The surrounding Awakeners watched carefully.

The Orc General raised its enormous axe.

It came down.

The woman jumped.

Higher than before.

Her body rose above the monster’s head.

Her long black hair streamed behind her.

She rotated once.

Then stopped.

One leg rose high above her body.

For a brief moment, she remained suspended in the air with perfect balance, one leg extended upward while the other remained tucked beneath her.

The Awakeners stared.

"What the?"

"What is she doing?"

The woman brought the raised leg down.

All of her momentum gathered into a single point.

Her heel descended like a hammer.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

The kick struck the Orc General directly on the top of its head.

The force drove its enormous body downward.

The pavement shattered.

The Orc General’s knees buckled.

Its entire body collapsed beneath the impact.

Silence spread through the battlefield.

The woman landed lightly beside it.

Her black dress settled around her legs.

Her heels touched the broken pavement without making more than a faint sound.

The Orc General didn’t move.

The A-Rank monster was dead.

For several seconds, nobody spoke.

Then one of the Apex Guild members finally whispered,

"...She killed an A-Rank Orc General with a single kick."

Another stared at the crater.

"With one kick."

The guild leader slowly lowered his weapon.

"I’ve never seen anything fights like that."

The woman calmly brushed a strand of black hair away from her face.

Then she looked toward the surrounding Awakeners.

"Is everyone alright?"

Nobody answered immediately.

They were still trying to process what they had just witnessed.

Finally, someone nodded.

"Y-yes."

The woman gave a small smile.

She glanced down at her dress.

A small amount of dust had settled across the fabric.
