Chapter 189: Chapter 190: Ares Discovers Another Continent
A few days had passed since Ares had returned from his journey outside the continent.
During that time, he had continued exploring the surrounding regions whenever he had the opportunity, although most of what he found was already familiar territory.
Galvanian was enormous.
He had traveled across a considerable portion of the continent, but there were still many places he hadn’t visited.
Then, several days ago, he had finally discovered something he hadn’t expected.
Another continent.
Ares had been flying high above the clouds when he noticed a distant landmass far beyond the horizon.
It was enormous.
Even from that distance, he could tell that it was considerably larger than Galvanian.
At least twice its size.
However, the distance between the two continents was so vast that traveling there would require considerably more time than Ares had initially anticipated.
Rather than immediately crossing the ocean, he decided to ask someone who might know more about it.
---
Inside their room at the Starlight, Draven was sitting comfortably on one of the sofas.
His attention was completely focused on the iPad in his hands.
Cedric was sitting beside him, while Astra was on the other side of the sofa, also holding her own device.
The three of them had become surprisingly accustomed to the technology Ares had brought from Earth.
Especially Draven.
Ares had already lost count of how many times he had caught him playing games instead of doing anything remotely productive.
He stepped into the room.
Draven glanced up.
"Master."
Cedric looked away from his iPad as well.
Astra immediately smiled.
"Welcome back, Master."
Ares nodded.
"Yeah."
He looked at the three of them.
"Having fun?"
"Of course."
Draven immediately returned his attention to the screen.
"I’m about to beat this level."
Cedric glanced at him.
"You said that thirty minutes ago."
"I was close."
"You’ve been saying that for the past hour."
Draven frowned.
"Don’t distract me."
Ares sighed.
’These three really have gotten addicted to these things.’
He decided not to comment.
Instead, he walked over and sat down nearby.
Draven glanced at him again.
"So, where did you go this time?"
Ares looked at him.
"Outside the continent."
Draven’s fingers stopped moving.
He slowly lowered the iPad.
"Outside the continent?"
Cedric looked up immediately.
Astra also turned toward Ares.
"Master went outside Galvanian?"
"Yeah."
Ares nodded.
"I was flying around for a while and eventually found another continent."
Draven’s expression immediately became interested.
"Really?"
"Yes."
Ares leaned back.
"It’s considerably larger than Galvanian."
He thought for a moment.
"Let’s say roughly twice the size."
Draven stared at him.
"Twice?"
"Approximately."
Draven rubbed his chin.
"Hmm..."
His expression became thoughtful.
"I’m not particularly familiar with that place."
Ares raised an eyebrow.
"You aren’t?"
"No."
Draven shook his head.
"But I’ve heard about it from some of the other dragons."
Ares immediately became more attentive.
"What did they say?"
Draven placed the iPad on his lap.
"They called it the Grand Continent of Ravellon."
"Ravellon..."
Ares repeated the name quietly.
Draven nodded.
"That’s what I remember."
He thought for a moment before continuing.
"They said it’s a very old continent."
"Older than Galvanian?"
"Much older."
Draven looked toward Ares.
"From what I heard, Ravellon existed long before Galvanian."
Ares’s expression became slightly more serious.
"So it’s the oldest continent we’ve discovered?"
"I wouldn’t say discovered."
Draven shook his head.
"The dragons simply know that it exists."
He paused.
"As far as I understand, Ravellon was already there long before our continent became what it is today."
Ares listened carefully.
Draven continued.
"The information I heard wasn’t very detailed, though."
"What do you know?"
Draven thought for several seconds.
"Different races live there."
"Different races?"
"Yes."
He nodded.
"Apparently, Ravellon isn’t dominated by a single race in the same way some regions of Galvanian are."
He continued.
"There are apparently many different races living across the continent, and they’ve formed different kingdoms, territories, tribes, and civilizations."
Ares’s eyes narrowed slightly.
"Do you know which races?"
Draven shook his head.
"Not specifically."
"That’s unfortunate."
"Sorry, Master."
Draven shrugged.
"I never had much reason to learn about them."
Ares didn’t mind.
Even that small amount of information was useful.
"What about the continent itself?"
Draven thought for a moment.
"I’ve heard that it has all kinds of environments."
"Such as?"
"Forests, enormous mountain ranges, deserts, ancient ruins, vast plains..."
He paused.
"Apparently there are also places that don’t exist anywhere on Galvanian."
Ares became more interested.
"Like what?"
Draven frowned slightly.
"I don’t remember the details."
He scratched his cheek.
"The dragons who told me about it weren’t exactly interested in giving me a geography lesson."
Ares almost smiled.
’That’s understandable.’
Dragons weren’t exactly known for carefully documenting everything they knew.
Draven continued.
"But I do remember one thing."
"What is it?"
"Ravellon is considered the first great continent of this world."
Ares looked at him.
"The first?"
"Yes."
Draven nodded.
"The dragons said that before Galvanian became known as one of the major continents, Ravellon already existed."
He paused.
"That’s why some of the older dragons call it the Grand Continent."
Ares remained silent.
So Ravellon wasn’t simply another continent.
It was the oldest known continent in this world.
And it was also considerably larger than Galvanian.
More importantly, countless races and civilizations had developed there long before Galvanian became what it was now.
Ares leaned back slightly.
"Interesting."
Draven smiled.
"If you’re planning to visit, you could always go there."
"Of course."
Ares looked toward him.
"But considering how little we know about it, I’d rather learn more before actually going."
Draven nodded.
"That’s probably a good idea."
He picked up his iPad again.
"The information I have is pretty limited, but if you want, I can ask some of the older dragons about it."
Ares looked at him.
"You can do that?"
"Of course."
Draven smiled.
"They know more than I do."
Ares nodded.
"Then do that when you have the opportunity."
"Understood, Master."
Draven immediately returned to his game.
Ares looked at the three of them for a moment.
Then his gaze drifted toward the window.
He had spent most of his time traveling around Galvanian.
He had seen its kingdoms.
Its cities.
Its forests.
Its mountains.
But until now, he had never found another continent.
And now he had discovered one that was apparently twice the size of Galvanian and older than their own continent.
’This is actually my first time seeing another continent.’
Ares narrowed his eyes slightly.
’I’ve traveled across quite a large portion of this world, but I’ve only ever seen Galvanian.’
He looked toward the distant horizon beyond the academy.
’And now I’ve found Ravellon.’
A faint smile appeared on his face.
’As expected of another world.’
’This world really does have a lot of secrets.’
He leaned back.
’I’ll find out the rest soon enough.’
