Chapter 225: Chapter 225: The Birth of the Floating Highland
Several days later, the preparations were complete.
The entire mountain had been transformed into a massive construction site, although very little of the work could be compared to ordinary construction. Beneath the mountain, deep within the earth, the research division had carved out an enormous underground chamber that extended far beyond the original foundations of the headquarters.
At the very center of that chamber rested the S-Rank dungeon core.
Around it, layer after layer of enormous magical circles had been constructed, each one engraved directly into the surrounding stone and reinforced with different forms of magical power.
Some circles specialized in earth and gravity, designed to control the mountain’s immense weight and stabilize its structure. Others were built around wind and spatial magic, intended to support the future floating territory and regulate the forces surrounding it. Fire, water, lightning, light, darkness, and several more specialized forms of magic had also been incorporated into the formation, creating a vast interconnected system whose complexity exceeded anything the Order had previously constructed.
The circles did not function independently.
They were connected through countless magical channels that spread beneath the mountain like an enormous network of veins, carrying the power generated by the dungeon core throughout the entire foundation.
Octavia stood before the central formation, carefully examining the final arrangements while Vhan and Vince inspected the surrounding mechanisms.
Aurora stood nearby with Selene, while Ares observed everything from the center of the chamber.
Octavia finally turned toward him.
"Master, all primary formations have been completed and reinforced. The energy distribution channels are also connected to the core, and the secondary stabilization formations have been established throughout the mountain."
Vhan continued, "The structural reinforcement has been completed as well. Every major section of the headquarters has been connected to the formation, so the mountain and everything built upon it should rise as a single structure rather than separating under its own weight."
Vince gave the final confirmation.
"The teleportation framework has also been prepared. We have established the primary destination at the center of the headquarters, with additional points prepared for the residential, training, research, and production districts. Once the highland is stable, we can activate them."
Ares looked over the enormous formation.
"Then everything is ready."
Selene stepped forward and looked toward the dungeon core.
"The moment the core is activated, the entire formation will begin drawing its energy. Once the foundation has accumulated enough power, the lifting process will begin."
Ares nodded.
"Understood. Proceed."
Octavia immediately raised her hand.
"Activate the primary formation."
The moment her command was given, the magical circles beneath them illuminated.
One after another, the enormous formations came alive.
Earth magic surged through the deepest layers of the mountain.
Spatial magic spread across the foundation.
Wind gathered around the outer formations, while lightning raced through the engraved channels like brilliant veins of energy. Water, fire, light, and darkness followed, each element being carefully regulated by the formations designed to keep their powers from interfering with one another.
Then the S-Rank dungeon core began to glow.
A tremendous pulse of mana erupted from its center.
The entire underground chamber shook.
Above them, the mountain trembled.
For several moments, nothing else happened.
Then—
BOOOOOOM.
A deep rumble rolled across the entire region.
The mountain began to rise.
At first, the movement was almost imperceptible, but within seconds the ground surrounding the headquarters began cracking as the enormous mass of stone slowly separated from the earth.
Trees swayed violently.
Cliffs fractured.
Huge sections of soil were lifted from their original positions as the magical formations beneath the mountain took control of its immense weight.
Yet the mountain did not collapse.
Instead, an enormous network of glowing magical structures appeared beneath it, holding the entire mass together.
The mountain continued rising.
Ten meters.
Fifty meters.
A hundred.
Then higher.
The earth beneath it broke apart completely, leaving behind a massive circular crater where the mountain had once stood.
The sight from below was already beyond anything ordinary.
The mountain was no longer part of the land.
It was becoming an entirely separate territory in the sky.
Ares and the others emerged from the headquarters and flew upward, giving them a clear view of the transformation.
Aurora stared at the rising mountain in silence.
"Master..."
Her voice carried genuine astonishment.
"I knew we were going to elevate the headquarters, but I did not expect the entire mountain to rise as one structure."
Vhan looked downward toward the enormous formation beneath them.
"The reinforcement is holding perfectly. The mountain is not merely being lifted; the entire foundation has been transformed into a stabilized magical structure."
Vince was equally impressed.
"And the formation is still drawing power from the core. The energy output is far greater than anything we anticipated."
Octavia watched the formation carefully.
"The core is supplying enough energy to maintain the structural reinforcement while simultaneously powering the spatial and elemental formations. At this rate, the highland will be able to sustain itself without placing significant strain on the surrounding magical environment."
Selene looked toward the rising territory.
"Then we can begin the second phase."
Ares nodded.
"Do it."
Selene raised one hand.
The wind surrounding the mountain suddenly intensified.
The enormous highland stopped rising vertically.
For a brief moment, it remained suspended above the clouds.
Then the formation beneath it expanded.
The mountain’s outer edges began changing.
Massive sections of stone separated from the central mountain while remaining connected through reinforced spatial formations. These enormous landmasses slowly moved outward, creating several distinct territories surrounding the central highland.
One became a broad natural region covered with forests.
Another expanded into a vast open area suitable for training grounds.
A third developed into a large agricultural and production district.
Others were shaped into separate territories intended for residential areas, research facilities, workshops, and future expansion.
The central mountain remained the largest section of the entire structure.
And at its heart stood the Main Headquarters of the Eclipsed Order.
The floating territory continued expanding until it resembled an enormous city suspended above the world.
Roads and bridges formed between the different sections, their foundations reinforced by spatial magic. Wide platforms extended outward from the central mountain, creating districts large enough to accommodate entire buildings and facilities.
The central region was elevated higher than the surrounding lands, forming the heart of the floating city.
And at the very center—
A massive castle began to rise.
Stone surged upward from the mountain as magical energy shaped it into towering walls, enormous foundations, and elegant structures.
The castle was not simply another building.
It was the seat of the Eclipsed Order.
Ares’s castle.
Its central tower rose above the entire headquarters, overlooking every district and every separate floating land surrounding it.
The Eclipse insignia was engraved prominently across the main gate, while enormous bridges extended from the castle toward the surrounding districts.
As the final structures settled into place, the magical formations beneath the floating city began stabilizing.
The immense landmass stopped moving.
Silence spread across the sky.
Clouds drifted beneath the floating territory.
Sunlight illuminated the enormous city from above, while waterfalls formed along several of the outer cliffs, their streams descending into the clouds before disappearing from sight.
Forests covered some of the floating lands.
Open fields stretched across others.
Large training grounds occupied another section, while distant structures belonging to the research and production divisions could already be seen taking shape.
At the center stood the enormous castle.
Surrounding it was the Main Headquarters.
And surrounding the central headquarters were several independent floating lands, each connected to the others through bridges and spatial pathways.
It was no longer merely a mountain.
It was a city in the sky.
A floating territory belonging entirely to the Eclipsed Order.
Ares hovered in the air with Selene, Aurora, Octavia, Vhan, and Vince beside him, looking across the enormous creation.
For several moments, none of them spoke.
Even those who had helped design the project could hardly comprehend the scale of what now stood before them.
Vhan finally broke the silence.
"Master, the central headquarters alone has become several times larger than before. With the additional territories surrounding it, we now possess enough space to expand for generations without requiring another relocation."
Vince looked toward the distant districts.
"The research and production areas can be completely separated from the residential sections, while the training grounds can be expanded considerably. We could establish dedicated facilities for nearly every division."
Octavia continued the assessment.
"The magical infrastructure is also functioning properly. The core is distributing energy throughout the entire highland, and the defensive formations have synchronized with the structural formations. We should be able to establish additional barriers around the outer perimeter without interfering with the city’s internal systems."
Aurora’s gaze remained fixed on the castle at the center.
"And that castle..."
She smiled faintly.
"It certainly suits the Master."
Ares looked toward the enormous structure.
His expression remained calm, although there was a hint of satisfaction in his eyes.
"It is larger than I expected."
Selene smiled.
"Considering that this is the headquarters of the Eclipsed Order, I believe the scale is appropriate."
Ares looked across the floating city once more.
"The most important thing now is making sure everything functions properly. The size of the territory means nothing if the infrastructure cannot support it."
Octavia nodded.
"Agreed. We should continue monitoring the core’s energy distribution and conduct a complete inspection of every formation before allowing the members to occupy the new districts."
Vhan added, "I will organize the divisions and begin assigning their new locations. The existing headquarters can remain operational while the new facilities are prepared."
Vince nodded.
"I will coordinate with the research and production divisions regarding the materials required to complete the remaining structures. With the resources you brought back, we should have enough to establish a very strong foundation for the entire city."
Selene looked toward the floating territory.
"And the teleportation network can be activated once the inspection is complete. That will allow ordinary members to travel between the ground and the highland without needing their own teleportation abilities."
Ares nodded.
"Good. Then we will proceed according to the plan."
He turned his gaze toward the castle at the center of the floating city.
"For now, finish the remaining infrastructure and make sure every division has what it needs. Once everything is ready, we will officially move the Order’s operations here."
The others bowed respectfully.
"Understood, Master."
Ares remained in the sky for a moment longer, looking over the vast territory that had once been nothing more than a single mountain.
Now, high above the clouds, the Eclipsed Order possessed an entire city of its own.
A city protected by magic.
A city sustained by an S-Rank dungeon core.
A city surrounded by separate floating lands.
And at its center stood the castle of its master, overlooking the entire domain beneath the symbol of the Eclipse.
