Greystone Pass.
The towering cliffs on either side were sheer, as if carved, slicing the daylight into a thin sliver.
Sieg and Bullock stared intently at the distant entrance, their expressions grave.
Suddenly, Sieg's gaze sharpened.
"They're here."
As he spoke, a silver-white streak of sword light shot into the pass like a bolt of lightning, arriving before them in an instant.
The sword light retracted, revealing Anton's figure.
A Sword Pill floated beside him, bobbing slightly.
Behind him, the sound of tearing air grew rapidly closer.
Five figures shot in from the pass entrance, arriving almost simultaneously.
Seeing that Anton was no longer fleeing, the five consuls also stopped, fanning out to block all escape routes for Anton and his two companions.
Five powerful auras, all at the Golden Peak, were unleashed without reservation, pressing down on the pass like five invisible mountains.
The very air grew heavy.
Sieg and Bullock exchanged a glance, their expressions becoming even more solemn.
All five consuls attacking at once—this was the worst-case scenario they had envisioned.
They had harbored a sliver of hope that only four consuls might show up. A three-on-four fight would have given them a much better chance of winning.
Unexpectedly... Kresol Dragon City was truly cautious, leaving them no openings whatsoever.
In contrast to Sieg and Bullock's gravity, the five consuls, upon seeing them, all broke into expressions of ecstatic surprise.
"I honestly thought you wouldn't fall for such an obvious trap."
The lead consul sneered, his icy gaze sweeping over Anton and his two companions.
"But not only did you show up, you all came together."
"This saves us a lot of trouble. Once we kill you here, the Fallen Dragon Association's branch on the Eldron Plain will be of no consequence."
Just then, the consul standing to his right suddenly spoke up, "Wood, the energy fluctuations here feel wrong. They must have set up an Array."
Anton's gaze fell on the speaking consul, and the corresponding intelligence immediately surfaced in his mind.
Kenneth, a consul of the Dragon Race who had reached Golden Peak one hundred and twenty-three years ago. The Power of Law he had awakened was 'Ripple'.
It was a secondary derivative Law of Water Element Power.
Those who awakened it could perceive the "ripples" of any energy fluctuation within a certain range, like a stone thrown into water—the stronger the fluctuation, the clearer the ripple.
Furthermore, they could clearly sense the flow of Magic Power within living beings, allowing them to anticipate their movements.
While it seemed like a purely supportive Law, its contribution to one's combat effectiveness was actually quite significant.
Upon hearing Kenneth's words, the other four consuls showed no worry. Instead, their faces bore expressions that said, 'So that's what it was'.
No wonder the Fallen Dragon Association dared to ambush them in turn. So this was what they were relying on.
'But... an Array?'
'They think a mere Array can threaten us?'
'How absurd.'
A common offensive Array couldn't even handle the defenses of an ordinary Golden Tier warrior, let alone Golden Peak experts like them who had awakened the Power of Law.
Even if this Array was a non-offensive trapping or Illusion Array, it would still be a wasted effort.
Golden Peak and everything below the level of Law were two completely different tiers.
Any method that didn't involve the Power of Law was useless against them.
"To pin their hopes on an Array... how foolish," Wood sneered repeatedly.
The other four consuls also showed undisguised scorn and contempt on their faces.
Being so bluntly mocked by his longtime arch-enemies, Bullock's face immediately darkened.
If Sieg hadn't shot him a look, his short temper would have made him start cursing them out loud.
Anton, however, remained composed, a faint, derisive smile playing on his lips.
"Then allow me to show you."
The moment he finished speaking, he flicked his wrist, and a small array banner materialized in his palm.
With a forceful wave, the surrounding air instantly underwent a subtle change.
At the same time, the five consuls charged forward without hesitation.
Their bodies blurred into five afterimages, rushing at Anton from different directions.
Although they didn't think the enemy's Array could threaten them, they had no intention of just standing by and watching their opponent activate it. They moved to intercept without a second thought.
Sieg and Bullock's expressions changed slightly, and they were just about to step in and block them.
But just then, Anton raised his other hand, and five small command flags appeared out of thin air in his palm.
As he waved the flags, a five-colored radiance erupted, spreading out like smoke and mist to fill the area.
From within the light, figures leaped out one after another.
Six hundred and twenty-five Five Camp Divine Soldiers appeared in unison, arrayed in the positions of the Five Elements.
Instantly, streams of azure, white, crimson, black, and yellow light shot into the sky, weaving together above the pass to form a five-colored curtain of light.
The five consuls' charge was abruptly halted by the curtain of light, and in a blink, they were trapped within the Five Elements Grand Array formed by the six hundred and twenty-five Five Camp Divine Soldiers.
"What is this?"
The five consuls' pupils contracted, their faces filled with shock.
'Alchemy Puppets?'
'But they're different from any Alchemy Puppets we've ever seen.'
And once they actually engaged them in combat, their shock only grew.
These strange Alchemy Puppets each had the individual combat power of roughly a Silver Peak, but when formed into an array, they actually managed to suppress the consuls' attacks.
It even left them feeling disoriented, an awkward and frustrating sensation of having power but being unable to fully unleash it.
No matter how they tried to charge and break through, they couldn't succeed.
Sieg and Bullock were comparatively calmer.
They had long since received intelligence from Scott that Anton commanded a type of miraculous Alchemy Puppet.
In his past battle with Marcus, Anton had used these very puppets to drain most of Marcus's stamina and Magic Power, ultimately succeeding in killing him.
The only difference was that the number of puppets before them was far greater than what the intelligence reports had described.
That being said, when they personally witnessed a group of Silver Peak Alchemy Puppets actually stopping five consuls from breaking out, the two couldn't help but marvel in amazement.
Meanwhile, while the five consuls were held back, Anton had successfully activated the Array.
In an instant, seven Celestial Thunder Banners burst from the ground, transforming into seven ten-foot-tall banners arranged in the formation of the Big Dipper.
The banners were ink-black, embroidered with silver-white thunder patterns that coiled like dragons and snakes. As Anton's True Essence flowed into them, the patterns began to shine with a dazzling light.
Thirty-six Five-Thunder Jade Talismans flew out from the rubble and hovered in mid-air, rotating around the seven-star formation. Dense thunder patterns appeared on the talismans' surfaces, flickering with electricity.
RUMBLE!
The sky suddenly darkened.
Countless fine bolts of lightning appeared from the void, crisscrossing and slicing the entire sky into innumerable fragments.
The lightning grew denser and brighter, illuminating the pass as if it were day.
The Nine Heavens Thunder Suppression Array, activate!
At that moment, everyone—Sieg, Bullock, and the five trapped consuls—simultaneously felt a terrifying pressure descend from nowhere, enveloping every inch of space around them.
They felt a tightness in their chests, as if a heavy boulder were pressing down on them.
"What is this?"
Kenneth looked up at the sky, now a canopy of lightning, his eyes filled with terror.
The next instant, a blinding, incandescent white light tore through the heavens.
Nine silver-white pillars of lightning, as thick as beams, came crashing down from the void, smashing directly toward the five consuls.
Wherever the pillars of lightning passed, the air was ionized into a pale blue mist, emitting a screech that set one's teeth on edge.
The five consuls reacted with extreme speed.
The very instant the lightning appeared, they activated their Power of Law almost simultaneously.
The rock beneath Wood's feet instantly melted from the extreme heat, and crimson magma climbed his legs like a living creature, solidifying into a suit of dark red rock armor on his body in the blink of an eye.
Layers of pale blue Water Curtains appeared around Kenneth, flowing like waves, both flexible and dense.
The other three consuls also deployed their own techniques; a dazzling wheel of light, an invisible deflection field, and a distorted barrier of air blasts all appeared at once.
The lightning then cascaded down like a waterfall, instantly engulfing the five of them.
Wood's magma armor cracked rapidly in the lightning, sending scorching fragments flying everywhere.
Kenneth's Water Curtains shattered layer by layer, the fragments evaporating into steam in mid-air.
The wheel of light, the deflection field, and the air blast barrier also disintegrated at the same time.
The five consuls grunted repeatedly, staggering back under the lightning's assault. Only by desperately channeling their Power of Law did they barely manage to hold their ground, avoiding being crushed by the first wave of lightning pillars.
But before they could catch their breath, the second wave of Celestial Thunder crashed down.
It was followed by a third wave, a fourth... The Celestial Thunder was relentless, wave after wave, with no pause in between.
The five consuls were suppressed on the spot, unable to move for a time.
The ground beneath their feet cracked, melted, and vitrified under the lightning's fire.
Rubble was turned to dust in the lightning's glare, and the air filled with a thick, scorching smell.
Sieg and Bullock watched, dumbfounded.
'This is a fucking Array?'
The two exchanged a look, each seeing the almost absurd shock in the other's eyes.
This was especially true for Bullock. He had just been inwardly mocking Canglan for wasting his effort on an Array, and now he had been thoroughly proven wrong.
Now, they could clearly sense a dense aura of Law within the lightning that rained down from the sky.
The power contained in each bolt of lightning was likely no less than a full-power strike from a Golden Peak expert who had awakened the Thunder Element.
An Array like this was simply unheard of!
'So that's how it is... This is his real trump card.'
Sieg's gaze toward Anton shifted again and again.
He realized he had still underestimated Canglan.
'This person... is far more unfathomable than anyone imagined.'
In the center of the pass, Anton's expression was calm. He held the array banner in one hand, continuously pouring his True Essence into the Nine Heavens Thunder Suppression Array.
The Celestial Thunder rained down ceaselessly, pinning the five consuls in place.
His gaze passed through the lightning and landed on Kenneth.
The Ripple Law offered a unique advantage in sensing energy fluctuations and predicting enemy movements.
But its defensive capabilities were lacking.
Right now, of the five consuls, Kenneth was in the sorriest state, already covered in numerous scorched wounds.
Anton put away the Five Elements command flags, opened his palm, and made a grasping motion with his fingers.
In his palm, three ink-black, jade-like droplets of water materialized, hovering above his fingertips and rotating slowly.
Dark Heavy Water!
