The Elven Cultivator

Chapter 70 - 69: Yin Lightning Seed

Experts who had awakened the Power of Law often possessed an intuition far sharper than that of ordinary people.

They could vaguely sense things that posed a threat to them.

But Drogo focused his senses several times and couldn't find the source of this feeling of crisis.

His Magic Power was circulating smoothly, his vitality was abundant, and the Suncrest Emblem was still steadily empowering him. There were no problems at all.

'Is it just my imagination?'

Drogo suppressed the unease in his heart and continued his fierce assault.

However, not only did the sense of danger fail to subside, but it grew stronger and stronger, clinging to his mind like a disease gnawing at his bones, leaving him deeply unsettled.

He checked his body again but still found nothing.

'What in the world is going on?'

Drogo's expression was grim and uncertain, and his attacks slowed unconsciously.

His gaze swept back and forth between Leonard and Anton, trying to find the source of the danger.

But neither Leonard nor Anton showed any sign of anything unusual.

After a moment of indecision, Drogo finally chose to trust his intuition. He wasn't going to drag this out any longer.

He made a split-second decision, abandoning his pursuit of Anton and turning to charge at Leonard.

'If I can't deal with Anton, I'll finish Leonard first!'

The Great Elder's expression changed slightly, and he hurriedly activated his thorn defense.

But just as Drogo turned, Anton's murmur came from behind him.

"It's about time."

Before the words had even faded, Drogo's heart suddenly clenched.

In the next instant, without any warning, countless fine arcs of lightning burst forth from the gaps between the scales all over his body. It was as if thousands of silver snakes were slithering out of their nests at once, writhing and hissing wildly in the air.

The strands of lightning were as fine as hairs, yet so blindingly bright that they almost completely engulfed him.

"AHHH!!"

Drogo let out a bloodcurdling scream, his golden-red vertical pupils filled with horror and disbelief.

He frantically channeled the Magic Power in his body, trying to suppress the lightning that was ravaging him from the inside out, but it was completely useless.

Even wielding the Power of Law, he couldn't stop the lightning erupting from deep within his body.

His scales cracked amidst the lightning. Blood evaporated before it could even spill, turning into a scarlet mist that sprayed from the gaps between his scales and intertwined with the lightning, creating a bizarre and terrifying scene.

Drogo's entire body trembled violently as he plummeted to the ground like a falling star.

"What happened?"

The Great Elder was stunned and instinctively looked at Anton.

The latter's expression was indifferent, his eyes calm and tranquil.

Clearly, this was all within his expectations.

In fact, Drogo's intuition had not been wrong.

Earlier, under the cover of the Palm Thunder, Anton had planted a Yin Thunder Seed inside his body.

This was a special Technique he had cultivated back in the Qi Refining Stage, created specifically for the weak to defeat the strong.

As long as a Yin Thunder Seed was secretly implanted into the opponent's body during combat, it would be like a speck of dust falling into the ocean. It would show no abnormalities until triggered but would slowly absorb the target's vitality and energy to strengthen itself.

Once the Yin Thunder Seed matured, the Caster could detonate it with a single thought. The lightning would erupt from within, making it impossible to defend against from the outside—a truly insidious and unavoidable killing move.

It was best suited for dealing with enemies stronger than oneself.

As long as one could endure the initial disadvantage, there was a chance to turn the tables and seize victory.

The moment Drogo failed to notice the Yin Thunder Seed and couldn't quickly kill Anton, his fate was sealed.

After only a moment's stupor, the Great Elder immediately came to his senses and activated the thorns without hesitation.

Countless vines shot up from the ground, binding Drogo tightly. The barbs on the thorns dug deep into the gaps between his scales, which had already been torn open by the lightning, and began to frantically drain his Magic Power and Life Force.

At the same time, Anton let out a sharp grunt and spat.

A stream of pure white Sword Qi shot out of his mouth. Like a white rainbow piercing the sun, it carried an edge that could sever anything as it flew straight toward Drogo's head.

Wherever the Sword Qi passed, the air tore with a shrill whistle, and even the light itself seemed to be severed.

Sword of the Mid-Court!

Drogo's pupils shrank. He wanted to dodge, but he was bound tightly by the thorns and couldn't move an inch.

In the next instant, the Sword Qi struck the spot between his eyebrows.

The blazing halo, already at the end of its strength, held for only a moment. It flared brightly before rapidly dimming and finally vanishing, and the Sword Qi pierced through his skull.

As blood splattered, the light in Drogo's eyes faded rapidly. His golden-red vertical pupils dimmed to the color of dead ash. His frantically struggling body suddenly went rigid, then slumped limply.

As the thorny vines released him, Drogo's corpse crashed to the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.

The Suncrest Emblem on his chest lost its luster, fell from his charred flesh, and clattered to the ground.

The sudden turn of events stunned everyone.

The Golden Tier combatants on both sides simultaneously stopped fighting. They all stared blankly at the scene before them, their faces frozen in a daze.

No one could have imagined that Drogo, who had held the absolute upper hand just moments ago, would be struck down and killed in a single instant.

'What in the world just happened?'

'And what was all that lightning?'

The members of the Silver Moon Clan were the first to recover. Overjoyed, they all turned their gazes toward Anton.

It was obvious that the lightning had been Anton's doing!

Only Anton could deliver such an unexpected surprise.

The three Dwarven elders looked at each other, unable to hide the shock and astonishment on their faces.

They never would have thought that Anton could actually kill Drogo.

Even with Leonard's assistance, there was no doubt that Anton had been the key to Drogo's demise.

For a Golden Tier expert who hadn't even awakened the Power of Law to heavily wound, let alone kill, a Golden Peak powerhouse who had mastered it... it was simply unheard of!

For a moment, the three of them were so stunned it felt absurd, as if they were in a dream.

The other Elves and Dwarves soon noticed Drogo's death as well and erupted in thunderous cheers, their morale soaring.

In contrast, the Lizard-man army's morale, which was already at rock bottom, instantly collapsed. They dropped their weapons and scattered in all directions.

Even the few Golden Tier Dragon-Lizard-men's first reaction upon recovering was to turn and flee.

'Our leader is dead. If we stay here, we'll just end up buried with him.'

'The priority now is to return to the tribe, lead our people away from the settlement, and go to Kresol Dragon City to seek refuge with Lord Marcus. That might be our only chance of survival.'

"Pursue them!"

Seeing the enemy flee, Cedric immediately gave the order to chase.

With soaring morale, the Elven and Dwarven Warriors surged like a tide toward the routing Lizard-man army.

But at that moment, all the Golden Tier Warriors and Casters present, including Anton, were suddenly struck by a baseless sense of panic, and the hair on their backs stood on end.

Following a mysterious, spiritual premonition, everyone simultaneously looked toward the distant horizon, where they saw a figure flying toward them at extreme speed.

At first, it was just a blurry black dot, but it expanded with astonishing speed.

In the blink of an eye, a massive figure filled their vision.

It was a Giant Dragon!

A real, bona fide Giant Dragon!
