The world is... unfair.
"Haah..."
It’s a fact that people eventually come to know at some point in their life. But in my case, it was a bit different. It was just that, I learned that fact too early—at the age of seven.
I still remember that day vividly. The day I lost everything. My whole world.
It was a rainy day. The kind that made the entire world seem gray.
Wind strong enough to tear through everything. Thunder loud enough to make the ears ring. While the pouring down rain was heavy enough to wash the entire world clean.
And I, Kang Junho, stood there, looking at the coffin with hollow eyes as it was slowly sinking into the soil. Inside that coffin lay the lifeless body of my father.
The world... is really unfair.
I could never see my mother’s face as she died the moment she gave birth to me. And at the age of seven I lost my last family.
My father.
It wasn’t like I had no other relatives. I had. But the moment my father died they just turned their backs on me. They just didn’t want to take the burden of raising someone as useless as me.
So, until now, it was hard. It was really hard to live alone. No—it was unbearably hard for me. From the age of seven until now—Sixteen years of it.
But to think the world was so unfair...
"Haah..."
Even after suffering alone for that long, I’m dying a meaningless death like this. What didn’t I do just to make my life a bit easier? I studied hard enough so I could get a decent job after finishing my studies. I spent all my father’s savings on it. But even with top-class results, it was totally useless. I couldn’t even get a decent job. And the shabby job I got...
But even so, I worked hard. I worked really hard—late at night so I could save some money.
I did everything I could. And even after all of that...
Now what?

In the middle of the road, lying in his own pool of blood, Kang Junho looked at the clear night sky.
Murmurs of the people were rising as they kept surrounding him. But Junho couldn’t hear a single thing as he had already lost all his senses because of the pain.
’So, this is how I die, huh?’
Junho slowly looked at the crowd. Blood still kept coming out from the open wound in his stomach.
’These bastards...’
If they were standing there watching him die slowly...
Couldn’t they at least call an ambulance? But instead, they just stood there, showing him pity. How could they call themselves human beings?
However, Junho didn’t care at all.
He just tried to look at the night sky again. But before he could do that his vision was already blurry enough that he couldn’t see anything. The pain of the wound started vanishing as darkness covered his vision slowly.
’Father...’
’It was hard...’
’It was really hard for me until now.’
’I...’
"Huh?"
Suddenly, Kang Junho’s eyes snapped open.
"What the hell? I’m... still alive!"
