Soon, Luna, Elena, and even Isabella came over to check on me.

Amy carefully looked me over, checking for any injuries.

After confirming that I was completely fine, she immediately reached over and messed up my hair.

"You did great."

"You handled that situation really well."

She paused for a moment before grinning.

"Honestly, if I were in your position, I don’t think I’d have the confidence to say I was willing to let him live after all that."

I smiled.

"If this had happened somewhere else, I probably wouldn’t have let him walk away either."

"But this is the Imperial Palace."

"And the Empress has treated me extremely well."

"If I killed someone in front of her after she explicitly established a no-killing rule..."

"That would be disrespectful toward her."

Amy nodded in understanding.

"That’s true."

Before we could say anything else, Mom approached me.

She didn’t say a word.

She simply pulled me into a hug.

The terrifying killing intent that had surrounded her ever since the attack finally began to fade.

I hugged her back.

Around us, everyone remained quiet.

No one dared to disturb the moment.

The entire banquet hall was still unusually silent after everything that had happened.

Meanwhile, the Empress was in an exceptionally bad mood.

First, that brat had tried to bargain with her daughter’s engagement.

Then he had violated the rules by using an external item in an attempt to kill Gray.

And finally...

His father had attempted to kill Gray right in front of her.

The only thing she could be grateful for was that both Seraphina and Gray had handled the situation without turning the entire banquet into a massacre.

The Empress let out a long sigh.

Then she turned toward the Patriarch of the Crownhart Family.

Darius Crownhart was still lying on the ground.

One of his legs had been severed, and the wound refused to regenerate because of Seraphina’s attack.

The moment he saw the Empress approaching, desperation appeared in his eyes.

She stopped in front of him.

Her gaze was cold.

There wasn’t even a trace of emotion on her face.

Darius immediately lowered his head.

"Your Majesty..."

"That boy tried to kill my son and humiliated our family."

"That is why I—"

"Enough."

The Empress’s cold voice cut him off.

Darius froze.

The entire banquet hall remained silent.

Everyone was watching.

No one dared to make a sound.

They all knew better than to mistake the Empress’s calm expression for mercy.

"Darius."

"Do you take me for a fool?"

Her eyes narrowed.

"Your son was the one who proposed the duel."

"Your son was the one who violated the rules by using an external item."

"And your son nearly succeeded in killing a member of the Starlight Family."

She paused.

"And after Gray spared his life..."

"You dared to attack him."

Her voice became even colder.

"Here."

"In my palace."

"Under my rule."

Darius’s face paled.

He immediately began pleading.

"Your Majesty, please!"

"My family has served the Empire for generations."

"We have always been loyal to the throne."

"Please show us mercy."

The Empress stared down at him for several moments.

Then she nodded slightly.

"That is the only reason you are still alive."

A flicker of hope appeared in Darius’s eyes.

But the Empress immediately crushed it.

"Do not misunderstand me."

"Your family’s past merits do not erase what you have done today."

"You broke my rules under my own roof."

"And you attempted to kill someone who is now a future member of my family."

Her gaze shifted briefly toward Vincent.

"Neither of you will be executed."

"Not yet."

She turned toward the guards.

"Take them away."

"They will remain imprisoned until their trial."

"Their punishment will be determined afterward."

"Yes, Your Majesty!"

The Imperial Guards immediately stepped forward and restrained both Darius and Vincent.

Darius could do nothing but lower his head as he was dragged away.

The Empress watched them disappear before turning back toward the banquet hall.

Her expression remained calm.

"As for everyone else..."

She swept her gaze across the gathered nobles.

"The banquet will continue."

"I have no intention of allowing this incident to ruin the evening."

A faint smile appeared on her face.

"Enjoy yourselves."

"And remember..."

"I still have another announcement to make before the banquet ends."

Everyone immediately nodded.

"Yes, Your Majesty."

The nobles slowly began dispersing.

Conversations gradually returned throughout the hall.

They all understood one thing.

The Empress would not allow an incident like this to destroy her banquet.

But neither would she allow anyone who broke her rules to escape without consequences.

The Empress then turned her attention toward me.

By now, everyone had gathered around me.

Amy was standing beside me.

Luna was nearby.

Elena and Isabella were checking on me.

And despite everything that had happened...

I was smiling.

The tension in the room was still obvious.

So I simply acted as though nothing serious had happened.

The Empress watched me for a moment.

Her cold expression softened.

Then she walked toward me.

When she reached me, she raised her hand and deliberately messed up my hair.

"How are you feeling?"

"Do you need me to have someone examine you?"

I smiled.

"I’m completely fine."

"I avoided most of his attacks."

"And I escaped his final attack by teleporting."

"So there’s nothing to worry about."

The Empress stared at me for a moment.

Then she sighed softly.

"You really are something else."

A small smile appeared on her face.

For the first time since the incident began...

The terrifying atmosphere surrounding her finally disappeared.

Afterward, Mom and the Empress returned to their places.

Isabella followed the Empress, while Amy and Luna stayed with me.

I turned toward Luna and suddenly gave her a smug smile.

"Hmph."

"See? Aren’t I amazing?"

Luna stared at me for several seconds.

Then she laughed.

"Yeah, yeah."

"You almost died."

I smiled.

"It’s too soon for me to die."

"And how am I supposed to laze around if I’m dead?"

"That would completely ruin my plans."

Luna tilted her head.

"What plans?"

I immediately straightened proudly.

"I’m going to become as powerful as possible."

"Of course, I’ll train hard to achieve that."

"Then..."

"I can finally goof around afterward."

I looked at her with an expression that practically said,

See? Praise me.

Luna covered her mouth and laughed.

"That’s the strangest goal I’ve ever heard."

Amy, who had been listening to our conversation, suddenly joined in.

"Don’t be surprised."

"You’d be amazed at how lazy he actually is."

"Before he awakened and started training, he would always say he had something important to do."

"But whenever we checked on him..."

"He’d be sleeping peacefully."

"And whenever we woke him up, he’d say his important work was sleeping."

"Mom and I laughed so hard when we heard that."

"But then..."

"He went right back to sleep."

This time, even Elena couldn’t hold back her laughter.

I stared at Amy.

"Hey!"

"I don’t do that!"

"Don’t spread rumors about me!"

Amy looked at me with a mischievous smirk.

"Oh, really?"

"How about we go ask Mom?"

I opened my mouth.

"Okay, let’s—"

I suddenly stopped.

I remembered that scene.

My mouth immediately closed.

Amy noticed my reaction.

Her grin widened.

"Hahaha!"

I could only glare at her.

She was clearly enjoying herself.

And honestly...

I didn’t mind.

Everyone had finally started laughing again.

Eventually, we moved toward a quieter corner of the banquet hall and continued talking.

The dueling area was still active.

Several young nobles continued challenging one another, while others simply watched from the side.

I quietly observed the matches alongside Luna.

Strangely enough, no one came over to challenge her.

I wasn’t sure why.

Perhaps they had finally decided to leave her alone after everything that had happened.

Either way...

It was probably for the best.

Then a young man approached us.

He stopped in front of me and greeted me politely.

"Gray Starlight."

I returned his greeting.

"Hello."

I studied his face for a moment.

"If I remember correctly..."

"You’re Lucas Blackwood, right?"

He smiled and nodded.

"That’s right."

We shook hands before exchanging a few words.

A moment later, Cecilia arrived together with Evelyn.

I turned toward them and greeted them alongside Luna.

Cecilia smiled.

"Gray, are you alright?"

Evelyn immediately looked me over.

"Are you sure you’re not injured?"

"I can examine you if you want."

I quickly shook my head.

"No, I’m fine."

"Nothing happened to me."

I smiled reassuringly.

"I just lost control of my emotions for a moment back there."

"But I regained my composure quickly."

They both nodded.

Evelyn then went to greet the Empress and Mom, leaving Cecilia with us.

The rest of the banquet continued peacefully.

Eventually, the final moment of the evening arrived.

The Empress’s last announcement.

I immediately became curious.

I wonder what she’s going to announce.

I watched as she stood up and prepared to address the banquet hall once again.

I leaned slightly toward Luna and whispered,

"Hey."

"Do you know what your mom is going to announce?"

Luna hadn’t noticed me approaching.

She startled slightly before immediately composing herself.

I couldn’t help laughing.

She glared at me.

I quickly looked away as though nothing had happened.

After a moment, she answered quietly.

"I don’t know either."

"What is Mother planning to announce?"

Hearing that, my curiosity only grew.

I straightened in my seat and focused my attention on the Empress.

Whatever she was about to announce...

It seemed like everyone was about to find out.
