Chapter 278: Chapter 278 - The day

The days passed by far more quickly than Jian had expected, and finally, the day they were leaving Earth had arrived.

The ship had been completely remodified by the Farians. Every system had been checked and adjusted, and it was finally ready to warp. After everything they had been through, the moment that had once seemed so distant was now standing right in front of them.

Jian quietly packed the few things he wanted to take with him into a small bag. He did not have many belongings, nor did he have many things he could call truly memorable. After hesitating for a moment, he placed a small pressed flower carefully inside, making sure it would not be crushed. Along with it, he packed a few basic necessities—his toothpaste, some candy, and the other little things he would need.

That was all.

He stared at the small bag for a moment, feeling an unexpected heaviness settle in his chest.

"Is this all?"

Xing Yu’s voice came from behind him.

Jian felt his lover step closer before a pair of familiar arms gently wrapped around him. Xing Yu softly ran his fingers through Jian’s long blond strands, smoothing them back with quiet affection.

Jian smiled faintly.

"Hmm..." His fingers lingered on the edge of the bag. "I wish I had my grandpa’s photos, though," he whispered softly.

There was a small ache in his voice when he said it.

Those photographs were among the few things he wished he could have taken with him. They were pieces of a life he had lost, memories of someone he desperately wanted to see again.

"You’ll meet him soon, and I can capture a lot of pictures of you together," Xing Yu whispered.

He nuzzled his face against Jian’s shoulder, his voice warm and reassuring.

Jian couldn’t help but chuckle.

"You talk like an old man."

"Do I now?" Xing Yu murmured, a small smile appearing on his handsome face. "I guess I am older than you. So it’s proper that I talk this way."

Jian turned around and reached up to pinch his lover’s cheek.

"Yes, yes. You are the older, responsible one." He smiled teasingly. "Have you done packing?"

"I don’t have much stuff here."

Xing Yu gestured toward the small plastic bag sitting nearby. Inside was nothing more than a toy of some sort.

Jian stared at it in disbelief.

"Seriously? You lived here for so long, yet you only have one toy to bring with you? Nothing else?"

Xing Yu simply shrugged, completely unbothered by the lack of belongings.

"I have all the memories I need right in my arms."

As he said that, he pulled Jian tighter into his embrace.

"What else do I need?"

Jian’s face immediately warmed.

He lowered his gaze, his cheeks turning pink as he gently patted the muscular arms wrapped around him.

"Let go now. I need to get ready."

"You said you were done packing."

Xing Yu cupped his face gently, his expression softening as he leaned down and pressed a tender kiss to Jian’s forehead.

Before Jian could respond, the door to their room suddenly opened.

Nansich walked in, humming cheerfully with a swagger in his steps.

"It’s too early to be lovey-dovey, you two."

He looked at them with an amused expression before continuing.

"Get ready. Everyone is already on board. We’re just missing a young prince and his guard dog."

He casually picked up the bag he had left beside the doorway.

Without waiting for either of them to respond, Nansich turned around and walked out, still humming under his breath.

Jian stared after him for a moment before letting out a helpless sigh.

Xing Yu, meanwhile, simply smiled. He leaned closer and pressed a soft kiss to Jian’s cheek.

"Ready to return to your own world, my prince?"

Jian took a slow, deep breath.

Returning to his own world meant only one thing.

Meeting his family.

His real family.

The thought alone made his heart tighten. He had imagined this moment countless times, yet now that it was finally happening, he found himself unsure of what to feel.

He didn’t know how they would welcome him.

Would they be cold but loving, like Cealus? Or would they be overly affectionate, unable to contain all the love they had been forced to keep inside for so many years?

He didn’t know.

Still, despite the nervousness twisting inside him, the thought of finally meeting his family excited him more than he could admit.

All his life, Jian had craved his family’s affection. He had wanted to know what it felt like to be loved by the people he belonged to, to have a family waiting for him and calling him their own.

But he had never truly received that in either of his lives.

Not in this life.

Not in his past.

And now, somehow, he was finally getting the chance.

He was going to meet the family who had desperately searched for him. The people who had never stopped looking for the child they had lost.

The realization was overwhelming.

It made him unusually nervous and anxious, despite how much he wanted this moment.

"Will they like me...?" Jian whispered softly.

His fingers instinctively rose to the jettI between his eyebrows, gently caressing the small, shiny gem.

Over the years, it had grown slightly larger, but it had never developed into the vivid golden color his brothers possessed. Its shade seemed to change depending on the day, sometimes appearing muted green and other times taking on a soft blue hue.

Jian couldn’t help but wonder if it would make him seem different from the rest of his family.

"I don’t look like a Farian much..."

His voice was quiet, almost hesitant.

Xing Yu gently moved Jian’s fidgeting hand away from his forehead.

"They will love you."

His voice carried absolute certainty, as though there was not even the slightest possibility of anything else.

He leaned forward and pressed a gentle kiss against the shiny gem between Jian’s brows.

"As will your people."
