However, Karl couldn’t only make cool new gear for Dana, he was eventually going to have to start making proper accessories for himself.

He had a full set of Epic Grade items that he had made for the last battle, though. That sort of quickly created situational gear seemed like it would be better for him than making items that would lock him into a specific style.

Plus, it was funny to watch people fail to harm him.

Even Rae had to laugh at that. It really was fun to watch the expressions on confident enemies faces change as they realized they had never come up with a tactic for someone who had so much damage reduction that you simply couldn’t harm them with conventional spells.

Even [Limited Invulnerability] was enough to get past half these low tier Immortal Sects, and that was an innate skill to many species.

Even if she wasn’t bonded to Karl, with access to so many new skills, half the Immortals that they faced would struggle against Cara in a one on one fight. And now that she had learned so many wonderful new ways to fight back, there weren’t many that would be able to beat her.

Simply because she had innate damage reduction.

The more that they thought about it, the more pathetic the average Immortal started to look.

They literally had forever to learn new skills, and they never did. Instead, they hyper fixated on a few skills, and then loudly proclaimed that they were the greatest thing that had ever happened to their Clan, while ignoring the fact that they were incredibly mediocre.

Even New Home was like that to some extent, and they were one of the more open minded, with a large skill library and dozens of represented styles and Classes among their ranks.

But if you asked them, the issue was actually the other way around. It wasn’t that they were too bad, it was that some people were entirely overpowered, and some species had skills that made them virtually impossible to kill.

Like the Spirit Bear Tyrant.

Even if you spent a thousand years studying a physical damage skill that could shatter a continent, the bear would just shrug it off. How was that you being too weak, instead of the bear being overpowered?

That was a great point of contention among the beasts.

Some of them thought that the average human immortals were just too pathetic. Others thought that the beasts were simply too amazing, and the weaklings should really be worshipping them.

Rae was definitely on the "They should be worshipping me" side of the argument, as was Hawk. But his argument was more for fire than for himself. Even Remi was conflicted. After all, she was born a Princess, so there should be some sort of reverence from the commoners, right?

And she had only gotten more awesome since then.

Dana rolled her eyes as the beasts’ train of thought spun to who deserved to be worshipped, and whether human Immortals were just too stubborn to listen to people who actually knew what they were doing.

But she had long since given up on arguing that she was one of the humans, because the argument always came back to the fluffy ears and tail. It was hard to call yourself human when everyone noticed your fox ears before your face.

At first she was more than a little unhappy with the beasts for that particular stunt. But now, she had gotten so used to the ears that she couldn’t imagine going back to human ones. They didn’t work as well, they weren’t soft, and they were in the wrong spot.

Clearly, ears on the top of the head were better for almost all circumstances.

Even laying in bed with ears on the side was annoying, as one was always squished into your pillow. But not when the ears were relocated to the top.

Tian laughed at the very thought that he could have been wrong about the superiority of fluffy white fox ears, but it was the tail that was the real winner. They needed to get Karl to stay in his fox form more often, so that he could show off all nine fluffy tails.

Nine tails versus none was clearly an upgrade, and Karl should be ashamed for changing back.

"It’s so lively in my head now," Skadi laughed as the rest of her siblings argued about random topics, ears, tails, babies and gear.

"It’s nice, right? There are still quiet moments when everyone is sleeping, and you can tune them out if you need to. But you’re never truly alone in your head, and if you have an important question or emergency, there is always someone there to help.

Or make things worse. It really depends on who you get and what sort of mood they’re in."

The little forest lord laughed.

She could definitely see some of her siblings making things worse just because they could.

Not that they would allow real harm to come to any of their people. But if there were four good outcomes, and only one entertaining one, it was clear which route they were going to pick.

Sensing that the beasts were getting bored and needed a new topic to distract them, Karl decided to give them a new point of discussion.

"Why don’t we all start a contest? We’ve got so many new people in training, so let’s try to spice things up by having everyone try to invent a new training method. Try to come up with one thing that we haven’t done before to train each other or new members, and we will pick the best one to try as a group."

Everyone’s attention immediately went to Cara, but the badger only gave them a smug smile.

She was not the one that they needed to worry about. It was whatever sort of training Rae thought up that was going to horrify everyone.

And that wouldn’t even be Rae’s intent.
