"Before things get crazy, you should at least meet the other Supreme Ranked branch members. I will call them over here now, and everyone can get acquainted," Karl explained before sending a Guild Message to call Rue and Pack Leader Blackwoods over to the house.
"You know, now that we’re here, we should likely do something about this village. It’s going to glow like a beacon to the other Clans if we stay here for long.
I will have to set a suppression spell over it so that our presence is blocked from outside observation, and those merely passing through won’t feel all the Supreme Ranked auras unless they’re in the same room as us," Louie noted.
"Why you and not Leon?" Karl asked.
"Blood Magic is better at hiding auras than runic magic. Layering active Supreme Ranked Runic Arrays only makes you more noticeable. But because blood magic has some of the caster’s aura in it, the effects are much more effective at hiding or enhancing auras and the sense of presence.
With a Runic Array, we could block all the auras from leaking out, but everyone who stepped into town would know that we had a spell active here to hide powerful presences.
That’s a bit counterproductive.
However, if you put that sort of array on an empty room, it can be a highly amusing distraction and trap."
Karl could already see the potential. Set the array on a room, lure those hunting for someone into it, and then activate a whole set of traps and containment spells. They would willingly walk right into it, thinking that they had found what you were trying to hide.
Why work hard, when you could let the enemy work hard for you?
Rue and the Pack Leader walked in together, followed by Clan Leader Nerissa.
"Ah, good. Everyone is here.
Clan Leader Nerissa, these are our new Branch Members, sent from the Divine Battlefield to give us a little assistance while we establish our branch and its skill base.
Then we have Rue Gathuzan, and Pack Leader Blackwoods, who usually goes by his title because his name is Black Woods, and he named the Pack after himself."
The Lycan laughed, "One word. My name is Blackwoods, first of my family name."
Karl nodded. "Ladies and Gentleman, these are Louie, Oak, Andrea, Leon, Sam and Luminaria. Each of them has a unique skill set, so we will be looking to induct more Clan members into new skill paths.
With their abilities, they will all have much to offer in the growth of the Guild branch. Especially Lady Luminaria, who will be a huge hit with the bunnies and Druids. She’s a Divine Botanist, you see."
That made sense to the others. With so many magical plants to take care of, her skills would be in high demand.
Oak giggled at Skadi’s whispered explanation of the situation, and the white dragon gave her a confused look.
"They have a thousand kilometre diameter Tiny World full of rare plants, including the Haint Forest that Skadi has been cultivating. It’s taken care of by bunnies and Elven Druids, for the most part.
So, you’re about to have a lot of new friends."
Karl laughed. "We also got a Supreme Ranked greenhouse space as well. It needs some tweaking, but it’s full of good stuff."
The white dragon sighed. "I see that botany is a high-demand skill, as always. Why do they never ask me for healing? I can heal, I promise. I’m even a druid and a white dragon, so I have more ways to heal than most."
Skadi smiled at her. "But you can help me with the plants. Isn’t that better than just healing? We have so many sorts of plants and flowers, and edible things. Then we’ve even got Haints so that everyone can talk to the forest, and not just me."
The dragon gave the little Forest Lord a confused look.
"You raised an entire forest full of Haints?"
Skadi nodded happily. "Well, not a full forest yet. But I’m working on it. We’ve got about fifty saplings so far, but they’re growing well."
"Is there some threat that I should be aware of as an ally and neighbour of the Darklight Host? Something that necessitates sending a half dozen more Supreme Ranked members to the branch when they’ve already got two, including a veteran of the Divine Battlefields?" Nerissa asked.
"I don’t think so? Some of your local clans might cause trouble, but we were chosen for our skills. Supreme Ranked isn’t all that powerful in the grand scheme of things, as we’re also all from the Divine Battlefields.
We wanted to bring a Legend with us, but nobody wanted to be put in charge of the first branch on a new planet.
That’s too much work if it turns into an Outreach Program.
So, we were all chosen, and we are close enough in Rank that we can let Branch Leader Karl keep his position without raising suspicions.
The Darklight Host is a crafting Guild at heart, and we’ve all got trade skills to support ourselves, so we’re not a burden. But I see that the branch is already well stocked with equipment makers, so we will mostly be expanding the number of skills that they have.
Mostly in the crafting areas, but also combat if this region is lacking on them." Luminaria explained.
"Well, we have combat skills, but this world is a collection world, we’ve got a dozen different systems active, including the one that is native to this world. So, we need plenty of different skills.
I don’t think that is something that the Darklight Host was struggling with, even before you arrived. In fact, Karl traded us a few powerful skills when he first arrived.
My greatest fear is that the other Clans on the peninsula might try to gang up on you once they realize you have Supreme Ranked craftsmen.
This world is insanely short on them, for some reason."
