The First Patriarch: Streaming My Cosmic Harem
Chapter 91: The Silver BarrierAfter shaking off the last drops of steaming water, Azriel stepped out onto the polished marble tiles of the washroom.
He grabbed a fresh set of the high-density black training clothes, pulling the compression pants and matching long-sleeve top smoothly over his sculpted frame.
The four heavy metallic bands snapped securely into place around his wrists and ankles with a dull clack.
Where the crushing weight had previously pinned him face-first into the dirt, his body now absorbed the localized gravity effortlessly.
His Physical Prowess of 30 and sky-high Endurance of 50 made the heavy gear feel like little more than a firm, satisfying grip against his skin.
He rolled his shoulders, a dark, dangerous energy pulsing gently in his veins as the Abyssal Ardor bloodline hummed in quiet approval.
He stepped back into the sunlit expanse of the training grounds.
The air was cool, carrying the lingering scent of burnt ash and crushed stone from his earlier bloodline evolution.
In the center of the dirt-packed arena stood Vesperia.
She had discarded her casual posture, leaning lightly on a dark obsidian kusarigama.
Her single, thick silver braid rested over one shoulder, contrasting sharply against her tight white tank top and high-waisted leggings that showcased her absurd, lethal curves.
Her golden pupils slit into narrow, feline slits as her gaze tracked Azriel’s approach.
The subtle, passive aura of his newly awakened bloodline washed over the space between them.
Vesperia’s feline ears twitched, her nostrils flaring ever so slightly as she caught the clean, intoxicating scent radiating from him.
A flicker of genuine surprise flashed across her mature, striking face before she quickly masked it with her signature wicked grin.
"Look at you," Vesperia purred, her velvety voice carrying a low, dangerous resonance.
"Not a single scratch left, smelling like a damn cloud of perfume, and walking under full gravity as if you’re out for a morning stroll. My daughter really found herself a monster."
Azriel came to a halt ten paces away, a confident smirk touching his lips. "Well... obviously."
Vesperia’s smile deepened as she took a single, effortless step forward, instantaneously vanishing from her spot and reappearing directly in front of him.
Azriel didn’t flinch, holding her gaze as her golden eyes swept over him with frightening intensity, as if she were peering right through his skin and reading the newly forged density of his marrow.
"I was planning to spend the first few days breaking your body in a personal hell," Vesperia murmured, leaning slightly closer.
"But fortunately for you, that bloodline evolution toughened your flesh and bones far faster than expected. Which means... we get to skip straight to high-intensity combat."
She paused, her lips curving into a mischievous arc. "Though, of course, a little extra resistance never hurt anyone."
Tracing a swift pattern in the air, Vesperia summoned a glowing silver rune that split into four distinct beams of light, shooting straight into the metallic bands locked around Azriel’s wrists and ankles.
CLANG—!
The localized gravitational pull spiked instantly.
Having anticipated her move, Azriel braced his core and planted his feet firmly into the dirt.
A low, strained groan escaped his throat as his muscles flexed against the crushing surge, but he remained standing tall, refusing to give her the satisfaction of seeing him fall again.
Vesperia’s eyes gleamed with approval.
"The gravity enchantments will dynamically scale, increasing the load automatically as your body adapts to the current weight. And you will keep those bands on at all times for the entire month, even when you’re fucking my daughter."
Azriel gave a firm, unyielding nod, his violet eyes burning with absolute determination.
Satisfied, Vesperia produced a circular metallic disc from her spatial ring.
Infusing it with her brilliant silver aether, the device hummed to life, projecting a massive, translucent dome of silver energy that encased the entire subterranean arena.
Azriel felt no pressure from the barrier itself, but the isolated space made the air inside feel taut, heavy, and completely sealed off from the outside world.
Looking back at him, Vesperia offered a smile, one so predatory and wickedly thrilling that it made a dark shiver run down Azriel’s spine.
"Now," Vesperia purred, her golden eyes flashing with warlike delight.
"Let’s start your training."
With the translucent silver barrier completely sealing the arena, the ambient noise of the estate faded away, leaving only the sound of their breathing and the faint rattle of iron chains.
Vesperia didn’t attack immediately.
Instead, she rested her heavy obsidian kusarigama across her voluptuous shoulder, her golden eyes locking onto Azriel with sharp curiosity.
"Before we spill any blood, I have a question for you, boy," Vesperia said, her feline ears twitching as she tilted her head.
"When Rosalind handed me your profile, she noted that you specifically requested mastery in two completely distinct combat styles: bare-handed martial arts and the kusarigama. Why?"
She took a slow step around him, her thick thighs stretching the white leggings as her gaze traced his firm stance.
"Most warriors spend their entire lives trying to master a single weapon," Vesperia continued, her voice dripping with the authority of a realm-renowned grandmaster.
"The kusarigama alone is considered one of the most treacherous, difficult weapons to master due to its dual nature, a deadly sickle for mid-range slashing and a weighted chain for long-range binding. Combining that with raw hand-to-hand combat requires extraordinary spatial awareness. What made you choose this combination?"
Azriel met her golden gaze, a dry, confident smirk tugging at his lips.
"The answer is pretty obvious, Senior," Azriel replied smoothly.
"Fist fighting gives me total control in zero-distance brawls. If someone slips past my guard or grabs me, I want to be able to crush their skull with my bare hands. The kusarigama covers everything else, long-range suppression, sweeping crowds, and controlling the pace of the battlefield before anyone can even get close."
He paused, his violet eyes glinting with a flash of dark, shameless amusement as he added,
"Plus... using a chain and sickle looks badass as hell."
