Swish—!
The iron fundo lifted back into its tight, vertical orbit, cutting through the air over Azriel’s shoulder and sweeping down past his legs.
This time, his focus was absolute.
His Warrior’s Instinct integrated the spatial physics of the weapon with every beat of his pulse.
He felt the centrifugal pull tugging at his knuckles, calculated the exact arc of kinetic force, and mapped the precise moment the weight reached its peak momentum.
Ease the wrist... micro-nudge forward.
Azriel relaxed the torque in his right hand, giving the chain a subtle, delicate push as the heavy iron ball reached its zenith.
The forward momentum bled off instantly.
The iron ball didn’t whip back toward his groin, instead, it dropped cleanly through the air, hitting the dirt with a soft, controlled plop.
A sharp, satisfied glint flashed in his violet eyes.
Without wasting a single heartbeat, he flicked his wrist in reverse.
Swish—!
The chain bit into the air again, launching into a counter-clockwise loop.
The iron ball swept backward over his shoulder and shot down past his hips in a smooth, reverse arc.
Ease the wrist... micro-nudge backward.
The moment the reverse loop peaked, Azriel gave a tiny, gentle tug backward.
The heavy ball lost its speed mid-air and dropped straight down beside his boot, perfectly stationary.
Clockwise. Stop. Counter-clockwise. Stop.
He repeated the sequence at blinding speed.
Swish— thud. Swish— thud.
With every iteration, the movement became cleaner, quieter, and more dangerous.
The heavy gravity bands pulling at his limbs felt less like a crushing burden and more like an anchor, grounding his footwork into the shattered dirt floor.
Vesperia watched the rhythm unfold with silent, growing awe.
She had expected him to spend hours clumsily bruising his legs or failing the reverse transitions.
Instead, within ten minutes, the boy was executing fluid momentum shifts that took high-born military prodigies weeks to master.
’Unbelievable...’ Vesperia muttered under her breath, a low purr rumbling in her throat. ’The kid isn’t just listening, his body is adapting on an instinctual level.’
[LIVE CHAT]
[Moon_Priestess_99] (Cyan): The crown jewels are completely safe, ladies! He has absolute authority over that chain now.
[Sadistic69] (Red): 30 MINUTES!! IT TOOK HIM THIRTY MINUTES TO FLUIDLY MASTER BOTH STOPS AND REVERSES!!
[Nine_Tailed_Vixen] (Cyan): Look at how effortless his hips move when he shifts the kinetic direction! The Warrior Instinct is really amazing!!!
[Aether_Archon_K] (Golden): His combat adaptability is terrifying...
[Boundless_Slacker] (Red): Vesperia’s eyes are glowing yellow-gold right now. She looks like a predator staring at the ultimate meal
"I’ve got the stops, Senior," Azriel called out, his voice smooth and untired as he brought the iron ball to a dead halt at his side.
Vesperia snapped out of her brief stupor, a slow, approving smile spreading across her lips. "Good job, boy. Now let’s move on to dynamic trajectories."
Taking hold of her own chain, she flicked her wrist, setting the iron ball into a continuous, sweeping infinity loop (∞).
The heavy fundo slashed downward diagonally from her high left shoulder toward her midsection, swept across her hips, and carved back upward to her high right before slicing down diagonally toward the left again.
It was a fluid, hypnotic figure-eight, driving continuous downward momentum through the air without the iron weight ever brushing the dirt.
Azriel mirrored her stance instantly.
On his first two passes, he miscalculated the crossover angle, causing the chain links to clink against each other mid-air.
But as Warrior’s Instinct refined his movement in real-time, he instantly corrected his spatial geometry.
Within seconds, his weapon whistled in a flawless, mirror-image figure-eight, carving through the air with terrifying speed.
Satisfied, Vesperia killed her arc, and Azriel brought his fundo to a clean, instantaneous stop right beside hers.
Without a word, she transitioned into the reverse infinity loop.
This time, she struck upward, driving the ball diagonally from her lower right up to her high left, sweeping across, and driving upward again from her lower left.
Azriel picked up the reverse flow with frightening adaptability.
The seamless transition from downward suppression to upward launching arcs looked less like a beginner practicing and more like an experienced master executing a battle dance.
Vesperia’s grin widened, her golden pupils dilating into sharp, feline slits. Initially, her interest in him had been driven by curiosity and her daughter’s praise.
But watching his raw physical density, his terrifying talent, and the dark, focused intensity in his violet eyes, a sudden, scorching fire flared deep within her chest.
She found herself genuinely craving him, her own daughter’s lover.
Breathing out a subtle, heated exhale, she suppressed the predatory pulse.
’Slow down, Vesperia,’ she reminded herself, taming the sudden urge.
"Not bad," she purred, masking her heat behind a ruthless, authoritative tone.
"Now, onto horizontal sweeps and reverse waist-clears."
Over the next six hours, the training ground echoed with the relentless whistling of iron and the heavy thud of shifting footwork.
Vesperia drilled him relentlessly through horizontal perimeter sweeps, overhead spiral drops, and rapid directional shifts, forcing his newly forged body to absorb every lethal nuance of the weapon.
By the time she finally signaled a halt, six hours had vanished.
Aside from a sparse five-minute breather every two hours, the training had been completely non-stop.
Azriel stood in the center of the dust-ridden floor, the heavy iron chain resting coiled in his palms while the fundo dangled beside his boots.
Thanks to his skyrocketing Endurance of 50, his muscles didn’t carry a trace of soreness, but his entire body was thoroughly drenched in sweat.
The black, high-density training gear clung relentlessly to his sculpted chest, broad shoulders, and defined abs, outlining his lethal physique with stark, undeniable emphasis.
Rolling his shoulders, Azriel wiped a bead of sweat from his jawline.
"I’m going to get something to eat."
Vesperia lazily rested her hip against her sickle, her golden eyes tracing the sweat glistening across his skin.
"No need to trek back up to the main hall, boy. I can have the servants bring a grand feast straight down here."
"Nah," Azriel replied, coiling the remaining links over his knuckles.
"Sitting under this silver barrier for six straight hours is getting suffocating. I want to step outside and see the night sky for a bit."
Vesperia didn’t argue.
Instead, her lips curled into a mysterious, thoroughly amused smile as she gestured toward the arena gates with a flick of her wrist.
"Suit yourself."
Azriel turned and walked toward the perimeter. As he crossed the threshold of the silver dome, a strange, weightless sensation washed over him, like stepping through a seamless curtain of warm water without getting a single drop wet.
The moment he cleared the barrier and stepped into the open subterranean courtyard, he looked up, expecting to see a blanket of stars.
He froze.
The sky above was a brilliant, radiant azure, with the sun hovering bright and clear, barely tilted past its afternoon peak.
Azriel stared at the sun, then back at the shimmering silver dome behind him.
His violet eyes glinted with sharp, sudden realization as the math instantly clicked in his head.
’Six hours inside... but barely an hour has passed out here, Time dilation.’
