"This is the place!" Katarina looked up. The hotel wasn’t big, but it was still capable of accommodating a few hundred people. It was also considered a five-star hotel, so it was perfect for their safe zone.

"Go in first." Auric waved his hand.

"What’s wrong?" Katarina glanced at Auric, noticing his eyes wandering elsewhere.

Katarina carefully followed his gaze and found a man with long red hair.

"That’s... Antonio Sastre. He possesses the fire of a phoenix as his element. According to rumors, Tommi’s absolute fire won’t work against him. In addition, that fire has a very high healing attribute, if we consider the phoenix’s legend."

"Rebirth, right?" Vera nodded in agreement. "If you fight him, you have to defeat him in one strike or wear down his power. But because of his element, healing his wounds is much more efficient than you can injure him, so if you’re at the same level, you’re bound to lose."

"I’m going to take a look first. You go in first." Auric waved his hand.

"Okay." Katarina didn’t care much about Antonio. Even if he were powerful, Auric’s observation would be more than enough. Besides, she had already researched his background.

Antonio bought flowers and nodded before he returned to the hotel. He halted his steps when he noticed Auric’s intense gaze.

Both of them stared at each other for a few seconds. Antonio thought for a moment before taking out a small bottle from his pocket, pointing at the bottle as if asking Auric if he wanted to have a drink together.

"Underage! No, thank you!" Auric waved his hand with a smile.

Antonio just shrugged as if he found Auric boring.

Auric smiled, thinking, ’I’m definitely going to copy that element during this training.’

"Let’s go, Vera." Auric chuckled.

"Sur—" Vera wanted to turn around, but she suddenly stopped, noticing another person.

"What’s wrong?" Auric tilted his head in confusion. He suddenly found out about yet another competitor. This person wasn’t his target.

However, the same couldn’t be said of the others.

Before Auric realized it, Vera had already rushed toward this person.

"Hmm?" The blond-haired woman looked confused as she held a bag of bread and fruit. She thought about dropping it and reaching for the sword at her waist.

"You, me, fight!" Vera couldn’t speak Clarice’s language, so she used everything she could to make her understand.

Yes, this person was actually Ellia and Vera’s target, Clarice Estella, the best swordsman in her generation.

Auric hurried over from behind and grabbed Vera’s wrist. "Sorry, sorry. We were looking around before we found you. Hey, Vera, that’s rude, so let’s go back."

Clarice looked confused at first, but her expression changed when she saw Auric.

She finally understood what was going on.

"Auric Elfe." Clarice recognized Auric since she had read his file before.

"You know me?"

"Isn’t it weirder if I didn’t know you?" Clarice shook her head.

"Well, nice to meet you." Auric nodded.

"Indeed." Clarice turned back to Vera. "And you must be Vera Schneider."

"Know me?" Vera looked surprised.

"Second place. You lost to Ellia Stroph Astler. She will be my target for this competition."

"What?! Who lost to whom?! I didn’t lose!" Vera was so angry that she didn’t realize she spoke in her own language.

As if she understood what she was talking about, Clarice smiled. "Second place is the first loser."

"What did you say?" Vera gritted her teeth, grabbing the hilt of her weapon.

But before she could do anything, Auric placed his hand on her sword’s pommel, stopping Vera.

"Okay, that’s enough. Calm down!" Auric sighed.

"..." Vera bit her lip before letting out a long breath.

"I’m sorry for that." Auric smiled apologetically at Clarice, planning to just smooth it over and get back to what they were doing.

But before he could say anything, two people approached them.

"What are you doing?!"

"How dare you threaten her?!"

One was a man who immediately pointed his sword at Auric and Vera, while the other person was a woman who positioned herself in front of Clarice.

Auric’s eyebrows twitched. How in the world did the situation escalate this far? It had become annoying.

Auric glanced at Clarice, wondering if she intended to step in to stop this situation.

"Well, it’s true that your people are the ones who were about to draw her sword first." Clarice looked at Vera.

"And I apologize for that, so are you also going to apologize for this man for pointing his sword at us?" Auric asked coldly. "Besides, it was just a request for a sparring match, or a match during the last week. It didn’t warrant an insult."

"There is freedom of speech."

"Indeed." Auric nodded in understanding. "In that case, I also have that freedom. You are sick. Did you masturbate too much with your left hand?"

"What did you say? You bastard!" The man held his sword tighter as he was about to slash Auric.

However, Clarice was the first one to grab the man’s hand and stop him from making a move at all. "Stop that, or you’ll die first."

The man was confused at first, but when he looked down, there were many blades pointed at his throat. These blades were made directly from an earth element, by someone who didn’t use any blades.

Katarina was watching them from a distance, creating these blades before the man realized it. If he continued that movement, his blood would be the first to be spilled.

Clarice seemed to have noticed it even though she appeared to be focused on Auric.

"Let’s go back!" Auric turned around and gently pushed Vera away so that the situation didn’t worsen.

Clarice looked at Auric’s back quietly. When the blades disappeared, the man said, "We need to kill him! How dare he be rude to you?"

"That’s sexual assault!" The woman agreed. "You are completely fine. He’s the one who is sick! Even though he has that face, he’s sick in the head!"

"..." Clarice fell silent for a moment.

They were confused by her silence. "What’s wrong?"

"Huh? Is he right? Are you sick? Are you okay?"

Clarice closed her eyes for a few seconds before walking again. "Let’s just go back."

Both of them were dumbfounded. Was what Auric said true?

Meanwhile, Katarina just clapped. "Congratulations. I think you’ve beaten your own record. Only six minutes after we left the hotel, you’re already in trouble."

"It was because of me. Sorry." Vera hung her head low.

"The record was actually only a few seconds. When I first entered Grand Magica College, I was trying to loop around so that I didn’t have to encounter a problem, but I failed and things escalated until I ended up killing that guy." Auric sighed.

"Okay then. I’ll update the record." Katarina chuckled.

"Anyway, let’s just go." Auric sighed. "Which one is the room?"

"806. This way."

Auric established the first safe zone in case something went wrong. They could at least hide in this place without anyone being able to sense their presence.

"We’re going to some warehouses. I’ve also made some reservations with rental businesses."

"Don’t worry. We’ll visit them all." Auric nodded.

While they were going around the town, with Lech-Aistia being the group they saw right outside the hotel, the only one he hadn’t seen yet was Granda.

Still, he was quite amused because he had met at least a few of the people he was interested in.

Antonio looked like a chill guy who was enjoying his life quietly. Selena seemed to be someone who loved dark jokes, while Alexander looked like someone with muscles but no brain.

Clarice was the most troublesome of them. She might have remained calm, but she actually didn’t hesitate to become hostile.

He didn’t understand why it was necessary to escalate the problem further back then.

Nevertheless, he knew that her left arm was actually injured. There was an accumulation of energy that had occurred because of her training. It was similar to the accumulation caused by a battle technique, but it was much more severe.

Most students should have been checked by evolution masters for their condition so that they could participate in this training program in the best possible condition, but it looked like Clarice was an exception.

He didn’t know what was going on, but he couldn’t care less about it. All he cared about was being wary of the United Kingdom.

Once the situation calmed down, Auric continued to go around. Katarina made sure that they reserved everything for thirty days. This way, they had secured several safe zones.

While it was true that they had spent some money, it felt like a drop in the bucket to Ellia.

Unfortunately, they didn’t seem to find anyone from Granda, even though they had strolled around the city for three hours.

In the end, they bought some food and returned to the hotel since Ellia was still in the room.

Because of what happened, Vera decided to stay in the room for the remainder of their free time, while Auric took a brief nap as he hadn’t gotten much sleep for a few days.

Katarina and Ellia focused on getting ready for the banquet.

Other students had also encountered one another. While most interactions were quite normal, some turned quite physical. There were a lot of messages about them in the group chat, but it looked like there was no discussion about their encounter with Clarice.

Auric didn’t care much about it since he just wanted to sleep.

...

In Esfrata, Natalia looked at the ceiling. There was a message from his father.

"I guess I have to go to Dermania." Natalia narrowed her eyes. "The situation might be really bad this time."
