"Well, you can call me... GOD."
Head Instructor Ryan waved his hand and shouted, "God? You’re daydreaming. Do you think just because you can sneak up on us, you can use that title?"
"Then, I shall murder this so-called god." Ultias grinned. His energy erupted, trying to blast everything around him.
Head Instructor Ryan moved away, but the entire floor exploded because of Ultias’s wind.
Ultias emerged from the smoke and flew into the sky, catching up with the mysterious man.
The mysterious man had black hair, but his face was covered in a white mask. He was wearing a plain white shirt, black pants and a long gray coat.
There was nothing special in his attire, but the man was actually releasing a gray energy.
Ultias knew that this man was a unique element user. However, the most powerful unique element user ever recorded was a Rank 5 human. There weren’t many of them in the world. Even if they had to include the ones who weren’t officially accounted for, the best among them would probably be Rank 6.
It was hard to find and kill a Rank 6 unique element beast. They also needed Rank 5 artifacts if they wanted to evolve.
That was why Ultias believed that this man was just bluffing.
He raised his hand and waved it down.
His energy created a massive tornado that gathered into a single point before exploding.
"!!!" Head Instructor Ryan covered his face as he withstood the blast. However, the explosion from earlier had just shattered all the windows in the vicinity. In fact, two of the high-rise buildings collapsed because of the impact.
The impact was so powerful that the entire city was trembling.
"So, this is the power of a Rank 7 human..." Head Instructor Ryan knew Ultias was strong, but a single attack was actually more than enough to affect a single city. This was the true power of Ultias, that not many people were lucky enough to witness.
Yet, despite facing such power, the so-called god remained unscathed.
He merely pointed his finger at Ultias. "Delete."
"!!!" Ultias’s instincts kicked in. He had never been afraid for the last few decades, but when this mysterious person pointed his finger at him, his instinct warned him about the danger.
He glanced back and saw an entire building disappear as though there was a glitch in the matrix.
"What kind of power is that..." Ultias gritted his teeth. He could feel that the man before him might be stronger than he originally believed.
"Haaaa!" Ultias gathered all the wind around him and directed it toward the mysterious person. The violent wind snapped buildings, shattered the glass, and shook the air. It expanded so widely that the buildings across the city vibrated.
If this attack were unleashed on a mountain, it might be more than enough to blow the entire mountain.
"Die!" Ultias shouted as he concentrated all that power on the mysterious person.
However, the air continued to flow toward this person without being able to cross the last distance.
Yes, the man was standing still, looking at the wind a few meters around him. The wind traveled across the space, but the space in question actually kept expanding so that the wind would continuously travel without being able to reach him.
Ultias was completely dumbfounded. His wind should have disintegrated his energy, but for some reason, he failed to do so.
’What’s going on?’ Ultias didn’t understand how the mysterious person could do it. Instead, he channeled more power into his attack. "Dieeeee!"
More energy was sucked into the wind. Anyone standing in the middle of the wind would have been torn to pieces, and their flesh would have disintegrated until there was nothing left.
However, the man simply said, "This is the power you’ve been proud of. However, in my world, this kind of power... doesn’t exist."
The moment he snapped his fingers, the wind dispersed.
"!!!" Ultias’s body shook. He was supposed to be the one controlling the wind, but for some reason, it obeyed the man and disappeared.
His power was completely ineffective against this mysterious man.
"Kh..." Ultias gritted his teeth. "Who are you?!"
"Why are you so dumb? Do you need me to repeat myself for the third time?" The man shrugged. "I guess I have been playing god for so long that this world has become pretty unknown to me.
"For some people, they will call me a coward of a father. However, there is no father who will let his son get bullied for nothing.
"I rarely interfere with his problems, but it doesn’t mean that I’m not watching over him. If he wants to become a strong man, he will have to overcome strife and carnage himself.
"It’s just... there are people like you from time to time. You have such a big ego that even when someone is simply breathing, you feel offended because of it.
"However, you’re lucky. I’m not here to kill you. It would be quite a loss to kill you, even though I personally don’t care about it.
"Still, I will have to punish you for trying to intervene directly. The younger generation is going to shape the future, not you. If not for the fact that you have crossed the line, I wouldn’t even be here."
"You are full of bullshit! I understand your power now!" Ultias shouted in anger as he flew toward the mysterious man.
His shirt was shredded. He had been wearing heavy clothes and everything, but that wasn’t because he liked clothes or felt cold. Instead, he wore all those clothes to cover his appearance.
This was something that only happened to Rank 7 humans.
If anyone stepping into Rank 4 could use their avatar to transform into the form that would allow them to harness even more power from their avatar, then a Rank 5 user could manifest their avatar to the real world.
However, a Rank 6 human could not only manifest their avatar, but they could also fuse with their avatar.
The Rank 7 humans went one step further. They didn’t just fuse. They integrated with their avatars.
Yes, in other words, they were no longer normal humans.
Most of his appearance was no different from a human. However, the moment his clothes were gone, a pair of white wings emerged from his back.
There was no need for fusion anymore because they were one.
"Haaaa!" Ultias raised his hands.
All the winds from the city had gathered into a single point. He intended to overpower the mysterious man, considering he still thought that the man in front of him was a Rank 6 unique element user.
Ultias believed that he could overpower him by using the true power of a Rank 7 human.
The wind stopped at first, just like earlier. However, more and more wind rushed into the same spot.
"..." The mysterious man fell silent.
"Hahahaha! You feel troubled now! It’s too late for you to ask for forgiveness. I’m going to kill you. No, I’m going to beat you half dead first. Then, I will capture your son, torture him, and kill him right in front of your eyes. I’ll make sure you regret even daring to come to me!"
The mysterious man clapped his hands. Half of the wind immediately disappeared, but because there was too much wind gathering in a single spot, it was impossible to stop it.
The wind gradually overwhelmed the mysterious man as they gradually came closer to him, no longer stuck in their own space.
"Haaaaa!" Ultias screamed as he released everything he had to break through the man’s energy.
"!!!" The man looked surprised as one of the wind tornadoes hit him from the left. It disintegrated his left arm and blasted the man to the ground.
"Hahahahahaha!" Ultias laughed out loud, thinking that he had achieved his victory.
The man crashed to the ground, creating a massive crater. Some buildings collapsed, but Ultias didn’t care about them or the civilians. As long as the mysterious man was defeated, he could say anything after that.
Head Instructor Ryan couldn’t help but pump his fists. He had been watching everything all this time, so his heart skipped a beat earlier, thinking Ultias was going to lose.
However, he was wrong. Ultias simply hadn’t used all his power. Now that Ultias had gotten serious, the man had lost his arm and was heavily injured. There was no way to make a comeback after that.
The so-called god would be running with tail between his legs.
Ultias grinned and descended in front of the mysterious man who was struggling to get up.
Ultias gathered his wind again and drilled through the man’s legs.
"Aaaahhhh!" He screamed in pain, his body shaking violently.
"Hahahaha. You’re pathetic. What did you call yourself again, GOD? To think you dare to call yourself that with such power." Ultias laughed out loud. "I told you. I thought about killing your son at first, but because of your visit, I’m going to fucking torture him in front of your eyes before I kill you. For the rest of your life, you’re going to regret what you’ve done, as the image of your son’s death will keep replaying over and over again in your head."
"What a twisted bastard." The man smiled. "I thought about leaving a small punishment for this, but I guess I need to increase your punishment."
"You still think you can punish me? You’re so pathetic."
"You are the one who is pathetic. To think you don’t even notice what has been going on." The man smiled. "Even after making all this ruckus, you don’t even feel that something is wrong?"
"!!!" Ultias suddenly snapped. Now that he thought about it, the city would have been awake as soon as he blew out the hotel.
Yet, even after such a fight, he didn’t even hear a single siren. There should be first responders trying to get to the scene.
But when he looked around, there was nothing. No humans in sight, no screams, no sirens, nothing.
"People say if you want to see one’s true character, you need to give them power. I guess after giving you the power to beat me, I can finally see that your true nature is much worse." The man smiled. "You’re so drunk on your own power that you don’t even realize that we haven’t been fighting all this time."
"!!!" Ultias suddenly saw a glitch in his vision. When he blinked, the scenery returned to the hotel room.
He looked around and realized he was still sitting in the hotel room.
Suddenly, someone sneaked up on him from behind, extending his hand. "And here is your punishment. You’ve been quite comfortable flaunting your power, so I am going to take a bit of your power."
Ultias’s information was abruptly projected by his own bracelet.
Name: Ultias Pethes
Avatar: Zephyrus
Grade: S
Affinity: Wind
Element: Disintegration Wind (46%)
The man rubbed his thumbs over the ’Element’ and ’Grade’. All of a sudden, his information changed.
Name: Ultias Pethes
Avatar: Zephyrus
Grade: A
Affinity: Wind
Element: Disintegration Wind (0%)
Ultias suddenly felt something change in his body. A massive amount of his energy abruptly disappeared into nothing, and his senses grew a bit dull.
"You’re just a clueless man who knows nothing about this world, but you’re lucky that I am just punishing you. If something ever happens to him, I will make sure that all babies in Dermania will be born with Grade E affinity."
