THE GOD EATER

With the loss of two Grand Daos, her existence shrank. She was like a piece of wet foam being squeezed by a powerful force. She was gripped by the force of death, and her power, like water, was squeezed out of her. The process was painful to say the least.

The shrinking of her existence was so impactful that she shrank to less than 50% of her former size. This change was reflected in how bright her existence shone and how much pressure her existence could exert on the world.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t the end of the impact of her death. Because her avatars died, their Supreme Metacs became exposed to the world. So everyone finally saw what they really were.

Unlike the two eagles, which were white and black, the two Supreme Metacs were actually colorless and multicolored. The white eagle left behind a transparent eye that seemed to be made from glass, while the black eagle left behind a piece of fabric that was always changing its shape and color.

The glass eye and the amorphous fabric were also not the Seer Dao and the Deceiver Dao. They were something else entirely.

When Black Chain saw the true nature of the two Supreme Metacs, his face became as dark as the river of death. He wanted to be angry and shout at her. But recent events had taken the wind out of his sails.

So just as he thought about saying something, he deflated like a balloon. In his mind, he thought, ’What does it matter?’

Fortunately, there were other more motivated Dao Lords around willing to spend some of their energy to give her grief about what just happened. So he didn’t need to be brave and do the job.

As usual, it was Martial Will who spoke first. He said, "You lying bitch. I knew you were lying about something, but I didn’t think you were lying about your pathway. Who does that?"

Heavenly Eye, without a trace of guilt, rolled her eyes and said, "If I am a lying bitch like you claim, then the first thing I’ll lie about is my pathway."

When Tepid Scholer heard this, he shook his head and said, "Consider me impressed. But now I’m worried. If you can lie about something visible to everyone, it makes me wonder how much you’ve lied about that we can’t see or know about."

Sword Maestro sighed in relief and said, "At least it is over. Now that she has lost the Illusion Grand Dao, she won’t be able to hide anything from us anymore."

Nodding his head in agreement, Martial Will smiled and said, "I guess that’s another good thing that will come out of this. Now, we just need the dragon to kill the Enslavement avatar and free the will of the world."

Even though Black Chain didn’t want to talk, this blatant disregard for his well-being forced him to speak up. But all he could manage to say was, "Fuck you."

This made Martial Will augh and say, "Gladly."

Martial Will was happy because it had become clear that Black Chains was so close to his limit of Entropy that the Dao Lord of the Four Directions Sect could no longer afford to shout and speak lengthy sentences.

Every action, including talking, will always produce Entropy. So until Black Chains can find a way to offset the Entropy he has accumulated so far, the prudent thing to do is to keep quiet most of the time and keep his sentences short when he has to speak.

Other than that, Black Chains can also try to gain a Divine Spark or help the Blessed Heaven World ascend so that he can gain access to the Divine Spark of the ascended world. Right now, Black Chains was seriously considering these two options.

’Will I be able to defeat the dragon if I lose most of my power and fall into the lower realm?’ he thought to himself.

But then he shook his head and thought, ’No, that’s a bad idea. If my avatar can’t do it, how will I be able to manage it as a rank 9 Dao Initiate?’

’Not only is it still going to be difficult or impossible to defeat the dragon as a rank 9 being, but I also don’t know how to lose my Dao Status without dying. One of the stars was black, and the other was white. They looked exactly like the two previous stars. And after Black Chain inspected them, they appeared to be the Seer Dao and the Deciever Dao.

However, Black Chain didn’t believe this. He had been burned before by this exact same thing, so there was no way he would believe that what he was seeing was the Seer Supreme Metac and the Deciever Supreme Metac.

"Really?" Tepid Scholar asked her. "The Seer Pathway and the Deciever Pathway again? How do you have copies of the same two pathways? What are you doing?"
