Feeling the sense of crisis rising within him, he asked himself anxiously, "What do I do? What can I do?"

The last time he sensed something like this, he had activated the Time Rewind Metac. But he was right in the middle of advancing right now, so he wasn’t sure that such a move would work.

Even if he managed to activate the Time Rewind Metac, there was a high likelihood that he would fail to advance. As for what the repercussions of that would be, he only had an idea of what it could be, and it was death.

That’s what Golden Sun had told him. If he failed to advance, he would die, and his consciousness would scatter. So the choice to be made was between avoiding an imminent danger that he couldn’t handle or the possible chance of dying.

When he thought of these two options, he was quick, "I have to go. Maybe I won’t die if I reverse time far enough."

He didn’t think this would work since the divine crystal was already in his spark of power and the process of advancing would follow him wherever he went through time. But he didn’t have a better choice, so he activated the Rewind Metac.

As soon as the Rewind Metac activated, the River of Time opened up for him. His Divine Spark was about to enter the River of Time, but it was being held back by the golden mountain through the roots binding it.

Because of this, he got to work destroying the roots. While he was doing this, he roared, saying, "These godforsaken things. They are like chains binding him."

As soon as he thought of this, he activated the Divine Metacs of the Freedom Pathway. He didn’t activate one of the Divine Metacs. He activated all five of them because he didn’t want to waste time testing their efficacy one by one.

While he was doing this, he was also manually detonating the golden mountain. This was just in case the Divine Metacs of the Freedom Pathway didn’t work.

As it turned out, he didn’t need to detonate the golden mountain because one of the Divine Metacs freed him from it. He didn’t know which one actually freed him, but he didn’t care much about it at this point.

He only cared about the incoming danger, so as soon as he became free, he rushed into the River of Time. The golden Divine Spark jumped into the River of Time and began to paddle upstream with three pairs of crystal wings that appeared beside it because of the Rewind Metac.

Once he was in the River of Time, the gap that opened for him closed, and the physical world disappeared behind him. This allowed him to sigh in relief.

As he sighed, he said, "Fortunately, I was able to get away in time."

Unfortunately, the sense of incoming danger didn’t ease up after getting into the River of Time. In fact, it was the opposite that was happening.

The sense of incoming crisis continued to increase in intensity like a raging fire. When Loki looked around in search of the reason for this, he saw that it was all his fault.

He was quick to see that the process of advancing was still going on within him, so the 270 units of power were still being stimulated and activated at the same time. This fact seemed to keep the incoming danger attracted to him.

Frustrated, he roared in anger, saying, "It is almost as if it can find me whenever I combine the power of Supreme Metacs in my spark of power. What the heck is it? Who did I offend so badly?"

Right now, he had two choices. The first one was to let the process of advancement continue, which would allow the incoming danger to find him. It went without saying that he didn’t like this option at all.

The second option was to put an end to the process of advancing. But to do this, he would have to scatter his consciousness and the spark of power, which would definitely lead to his death.

He didn’t like the first option, but the second option was orders of magnitude worse than the first option. So he decided to go with the first option.

"Since I can’t run, I have to pick a favorable battlefield. If I pick a favorable battlefield, maybe I’ll survive this."

Since running was no longer an option, he decided to stand his ground and fight. His mind quickly changed gears from figuring out a way to escape to finding a way to survive. Because of this, he chose to stop running and leave the River of Time.

He decided to return to the physical world because he would be able to replenish his lifespan there. There is no way to gain some lifespan in the River of Time, and since he would be fighting for his life soon, it had become necessary for him to find a reliable source of lifespan.

The most reliable source of lifespan he knew was the first dimension of the Blessed Heaven World. With his life on the line, he didn’t hesitate to drop out of the River of Time into the physical world.

In the physical world, the River of Time appeared briefly, and the golden Divine Spark fell out of it. The Divine Spark had appeared directly within Loki, but the River of Time’s appearance couldn’t be hidden from the Dao Lords.

As it happened, he had appeared at the start of the auction. He had not yet sold the first Supreme Metac, which was the Death Supreme Supreme Metac.

He was still in the process of ironing out his conditions with the Dao Lords, so Black Chain was still here and hadn’t revealed his plans yet. Everyone’s attention was on him, therefore, every Dao Lord in the scene saw the River of Time appear on Loki.

"Is that the River of Time?" Martial Will asked in confusion. "What is going on here?"
