THE GOD EATER

Without the mirror, he didn’t know what he looked like. But once he got the mirror and saw himself, he immediately became aware of the entirety of his appearance.

Of course, what he saw in the mirror wasn’t a literal image of himself. What he saw in the white orb was an image of all his life experiences. He saw everything he had ever experienced, including his past life.

As he watched, he saw himself growing up on earth. He saw himself going to school, graduating, getting a job, and getting married.

This sight brought back memories that he had pushed far away at the back of his mind. The memories didn’t affect him, though. His emotions were calm as he recollected them.

He wasn’t affected by the memories because he was a different person from the one he was back on earth. There was also the fact that he knew all of these and was learning nothing new.

But then he saw something new. He saw something streak through the void of the universe. This thing was a white orb.

The white orb entered a certain galaxy. It went straight for the only place with life in that galaxy. Then it crashed into the planet with life on it.

The crash between the white orb and the planet caused the planet to explode. Every life on the planet was wiped out, and the planet was shattered into bits. But the white orb was fine and dandy.

After the crash, the white orb took off into space. It went in the direction of the next signs of life.

The next source of life happened to be in the same galaxy. In fact, it was in the same solar system, so it didn’t take long for the white orb to reach it. Then it did the same thing it did to the previous planet. It crashed into this planet and was destroyed.

Once it was done with the second planet, it went to the third. Then the fourth. And then it visited the fifth planet.

It visited a lot of planets with life. The number was uncountable, but Loki didn’t lose track. He also noticed the glaring fact that every planet it visited was destroyed.

Another thing that he noticed was that something was following the white orb. He didn’t know what this was because the white orb didn’t know what it was.

At this point, the white orb didn’t have awareness. It had only one mission, which was to find living things and record its experience during this mission. So the only thing he could tell was that whatever it was always followed the white orb as if pursuing it.

Just like that, the white orb spent billions of years traversing the universe and wiping every trace of life that it encountered. This didn’t stop until the white orb entered a solar system with a small blue planet with most of its surface covered by water.

As usual, the white orb crashed into this planet and killed every living thing in it. But things were a little different this time around because one of the living things on the planet had a soul that was compatible with the white orb.

Because of this compatibility, the white orb fused with the soul. This happened to complete the white orb’s goal. So instead of rushing off to the next location of living things, the white orb was brought into the cycle of reincarnation.

As the white orb disappeared from the universe, the thing that had always been following him roared in anger and frustration. Then it said something in a language Loki had never heard before.

He didn’t recognize the language, but he understood what the entity had said. The entity had said, "This is not the end. I will find you."

That was all the white orb heard before everything went dark.

This darkness lasted for an instant. When it disappeared, Loki found himself looking through the eyes of a baby.

Through those eyes, he saw his father and mother in this life. From there, he saw everything that led to this point.

After reviewing the memories, he asked himself, saying, "Am I the one from Earth who fused with the white orb, or am I the white orb? Or am I the product of the fusion of who I was and the white orb?"

Then he shrugged and said, "These memories and experiences make me who I am. If the white orb and I have the same experiences, then the white orb must be me, and I am the white orb."

"So it doesn’t matter what I was. It doesn’t even matter that the white orb killed me. What matters is that I am the Spark of Power. I am the essence of the potential to wield power."

There are a lot of things he doesn’t know, such as where the Spark of Power came from, who was pursuing it, why they were pursuing it, how it was able to find living beings, and what made him compatible with the Spark of Power. But some of the questions he had before have also been answered.

For example, the question of why he was able to reincarnate. The answer to this is that the Spark of Power made him reincarnate. The spark of power is why he has the memories of his past life.

As for whether the Spark of Power can help him reincarnate a second time, he doesn’t know. To be honest, he has no intention of finding out, especially if it will involve him dying again.

Another thing he is certain of is why Fenrir was so powerful when it should have been an ordinary mortal metac at rank 1. It is why he was able to carry Fenrir through the River of Time and why Fenrir could maintain its progress despite the reversal of time.
