With nothing else to look at in the darkness, she turned her attention inward, extending her consciousness into her spatial dimension.
Briar was as diligent as ever. After trimming its own branches and leaves, it had begun tending to the other plants, carefully nurturing them with spiritual energy.
Edmund pointed toward a patch of medicinal herbs. “Those can be sold.”
“They haven’t been planted very long,” Lauren replied.
She had dug them up from the Icefield Secret Realm.
“They were already mature when you brought them in,” Edmund said.
Lauren shook her head. “Forget it. Let them grow. I don’t lack spirit stones right now. That area’s expanded so much—it’s all empty. I need to bring more things in to plant.”
Briar suddenly chimed in, “Let’s buy seeds! Seeds are cheap. Just scatter them and water them. Easy.”
Lauren nodded thoughtfully. She could divide the land into sections and plant different varieties separately. Right now her herb garden was a complete mess—everything transplanted with clumps of soil intact, crammed together in chaotic patches.
Edmund disagreed.
“Spirit herbs take decades before they’re barely worth anything. That’s too long to wait. It’s better to dig up mature ones. Planting them is more troublesome, but at least you don’t have to wait forever. You’ll have them whenever you need them.”
Lauren paused. That made sense. Who says cultivators don’t care about time?
She had waited for the Ice Spirit Fruit to ripen and nearly lost her damn mind from impatience. Thinking about waiting decades for herbs to mature felt suffocating.
After sowing seeds… how many years before they could even be used?
It was too damn long. The world was full of danger. She might not even live long enough to see them grow.

The giant tortoise suddenly stopped. Lauren felt the vibration and quickly withdrew her spiritual sense, opening her eyes.
“Sister, we’re here.”
Lauren jumped off the tortoise’s back. “Peyton, thank you.”
“You’re welcome. Go down from here. I’ll wait for you here.”
“Okay, thank you.”
She took a Bright Light Stone for illumination and projected her spiritual sense as far as possible.
Seawater has a certain insulating effect on the spiritual sense of land creatures. Above, her spiritual sense could cover a hundred miles, but here it was less than ten miles.
“Edmund, quickly sense this place, is this it?”
“Yes, keep going.”
Lauren reached the end after walking for a short while. “There’s no path, come out and take a look.”
Edmund transformed into a small dragon and crawled out of her sleeve. He looked around and then called out Briar.
“Quick, stick your roots in here. The entrance to the underground space should be right here.”
Briar took off its shoes, its feet taking root, and quickly probed into the ground.
A moment later, it said to Edmund, “We’re here. I’ve found a very large space.”
“Take her down.”
“But it’s so hot down there. There’s fire. I’m scared.”
Edmund’s face darkened: “Will it burn you to death?”
Briar shook its head.
“Since it won’t burn you to death, then quickly take her down.” With that, Edmund returned to the inner world.
Briar took Lauren’s hand and followed its roots directly into the underground space.
The space below was vast, glowing red, the ground cracked, and magma bubbles rising everywhere.
This was the Earth’s core, and the temperature was terrifyingly high. Briar was burning uncomfortably. After bringing Lauren to their destination, it went directly into the inner world.
"They're all so good at hiding, not one of them wants to share the hardship with me. So I'm the only one getting roasted?"
"To the left," Edmund's voice transmitted in her mind.
She hovered in mid-air, dodging suddenly rising flames and melting rocks falling from above.
Even with her feet off the ground and her head above the sky, the scorching heat was unbearable. Even worse, the air was filled with a kind of fire poison.
Luckily, she had prepared some things. Taking an antidote made her feel much better. Fortunately, this situation didn't last long. Half an hour later, the view ahead suddenly opened up.
The lava lessened, the distance between heaven and earth increased, and she could fly higher. This reduced the scorching heat considerably.
Continuing forward, another half hour later, the ground was no longer filled with lava, but instead sprouted shimmering flowers and grass. These brightly colored plants illuminated the dark inner world.
"What beautiful bioluminescent lamps, and they don't even need electricity!"
She descended from the sky, landing beside a giant plant emitting a blue glow. A gust of cold wind swept over her, and she shivered inexplicably.
"Hey, Edmund, come out and take a look. What kind of grass is this? I've never seen it before, and it's not recorded in the library. Should we dig it up and plant it in our space? Even if it has no medicinal value, it's still pretty."
Then Edmund and Briar came out.
Edmund said, “These are spiritual herbs unique to the inner world. The pills made from them are extremely yin in nature, harmful to the living, but very appealing to evil spirits. If you like, you can dig up a few and plant them, but don't be greedy. Otherwise, it will disrupt the yin-yang balance in the space.”
Lauren nodded eagerly, “I won't be greedy, I'll dig up one of each color.”
She looked at the tall blue spiritual herb and said, “This blue one is the best; it's destined for me. Briar, hurry, get it into the space.”
“Where to plant it?”
Lauren thought that since this thing was extremely yin in nature, it might affect her fragile yang-world herbs.
Briar, that old monster, was immune to all poisons, and all the spiritual plants in the space grew around it, so…
“Plant it next to you.”
