The Hidden Extra: The Lazy Prince Refuses to Ascend The Throne
Chapter 949 Wedding (What If)"Marriage, you say?"
Mey was taken aback by Nolan's words.
Nolan gave a slight nod.
"That's right. I want to marry Seira in four months."
Mey fell silent. She hadn't expected her son to suddenly make such a request.
A moment later, she took a deep breath and slowly exhaled.
"I understand. But this matter must be discussed by both families. I hope you understand."
Nolan wasn't angry. From the start, he knew marriage was a serious matter, especially since he and Seira came from two large and influential families.
Their marriage involved interests, politics, and money. In fact, it could even affect the country's future.
"That's all I wanted to say, Mother. I beg you to convince Uncle Troya and Aunt Helen. I don't have much time."
Without waiting for her reply, Nolan stood up, picked up Alice, who was sitting beside him, and left, leaving Mey staring after him in a daze.
…
"Why did you call me? Did you miss me?"
Seira sat across from Nolan, gazing at him lovingly.
Nolan chuckled softly at her flirtatious demeanor.
"Yes, I missed you. Is that wrong?"
Seira's smile froze. A blush then spread from the tip of her right ear to the other.
"What's wrong with you? This isn't like you. Tell me, what's really going on?"
Seira quickly suppressed her embarrassment and looked at him seriously.
Nolan didn't answer right away. He gazed gently at the woman in front of him—the woman he had longed to see for nineteen years.
Ever since he was reincarnated as Nolan Lorian, he had never harbored any ambitions.
Even becoming the Singularity of Chaos wasn't something he had desired. It was merely the result of an unexpected incident.
Yet, after becoming one of the most powerful figures in that world, he still never craved power.
All he wanted was to protect his mother, Elina, Eliza, Rafine, and everyone he loved.
But deep down, he knew there was one desire he had carried in his heart for years—one that had slowly turned into an obsession.
That was…
To meet Seira.
Nolan had thoroughly enjoyed his life over the past few months. Though it had been brief, he was deeply satisfied.
His obsession with Seira had also slowly faded, except for one final desire—marrying her.
And in four months, even that last desire would soon be fulfilled. After that, he would have no reason to stay in this world.
"Nolan? What's wrong?"
Seira waved her right hand in front of his face.
Nolan snapped out of his reverie.
He smiled, then reached into his pocket and pulled out a small red box.
Then, under Seira's startled gaze, he opened it. A beautiful, sparkling diamond ring appeared before her eyes.
"Seira, will you marry me?"
Seira couldn't take her eyes off the ring.
"Y-You…"
She wanted to say something, but she didn't know what to say.
The scene before her was something she had only ever been able to imagine—especially since Nolan had been in a coma and hadn't woken up for two long years.
But now, that dream had come true, leaving her dazed and speechless.
A few minutes later, Seira finally snapped out of her shock. Tears welled up in her eyes as she gave a slight nod.
"Mhmmm… I will!"
Nolan picked up the ring, took Seira's left hand, and slipped it onto her ring finger.
"What do you think? Do you like it?"
"Mhmm! I like it! I really love it!"
Seira stood up, then ran toward him and hugged him tightly.
"Nolan, I love you so much… I love you so much!"
Nolan stood up and hugged her back.
Fortunately, they were in a private room at the restaurant, so there was no one else there but them.
"I love you so much too, Seira."
Nolan closed his eyes and rested his face against the nape of her neck.
"In four months, let's get married. I've already talked it over with my parents. I'm sure they've brought it up with your parents too."
Seira's body trembled at those words. She had thought their wedding would be in six months or even a year. But it turned out to be… only four months from now.
Much sooner than she had expected, but she was actually pleased. The sooner, the better!
"Mhmm! I'll leave everything up to you, my love…" Seira murmured, closing her eyes and savoring the warmth of the embrace from the only man she had ever loved.
…
Time flew by. Over the next two months, Nolan focused on developing the Frey family's projects, including trains, warships, and airplanes.
He didn't have much time left, so he had to get everything done before leaving in two months.
Meanwhile, the two families also discussed the marriage.
Seira's father, Troy Aldridge, didn't hesitate to approve the proposal.
After all, both Nolan and Seira were already at the age where they should be getting married. Nolan was thirty, while Seira was twenty-seven.
In the end, both families agreed to hold the wedding on December 26, the day after Christmas.
"Nolan, do you think this is nice?"
Seira held up a white wedding dress and showed it to Nolan.
"It's very nice. But the shoulders are a little too exposed. How about choosing something more modest?"
Seira was surprised, then smiled meaningfully.
"I understand. All right. Since my husband asked for it, how could I possibly refuse?"
She then began looking for a dress that suited her and matched both her and Nolan's tastes.
Nolan quietly watched her from behind. The smile on his face slowly faded.
"Two months to go…" he muttered, closing his eyes. "I hope I don't disappear right at my own wedding."
…
Two months later…
Seira and Nolan's wedding was held at the country's most luxurious five-star hotel.
The celebration was spectacular. The guest list alone numbered 2,000 people, and as a result, the streets outside the hotel were completely gridlocked.
Fortunately, with enough money, everything could be taken care of.
"Hahaha! Congratulations, Nolan Frey! You've finally married the woman you love!"
A middle-aged man patted Nolan on the shoulder while laughing heartily.
Nolan smiled politely.
"Thank you for coming, Minister Rael. I hope you enjoy the party."
The middle-aged man smiled and gave a slight nod.
Several other high-ranking guests came one after another to offer Nolan their congratulations.
Carl and Leyna also came to the party. When they saw Nolan in his black wedding suit, they couldn't help but smile as they congratulated him.
Carl hugged Nolan and patted him on the shoulder.
"Congratulations, buddy. Your dream has finally come true."
Nolan hugged him back.
"Thank you."
The two then parted, and Leyna stepped forward and hugged Nolan.
"Take good care of Seira, Nolan. If you make her cry, I'll hit you."
Nolan couldn't help but laugh.
"Don't worry. I'll take good care of her."
Leyna smiled contentedly. The three of them chatted casually until Nolan finally noticed something unusual about Leyna's belly.
"Are you pregnant?"
Leyna and Carl were both surprised. They exchanged glances before smiling.
"That's right. Leyna's pregnant. She's two months along," Carl said proudly.
Nolan took a deep breath and looked at Carl in awe.
"Congratulations, you two. Damn… I've really lost this time!"
"Hahaha!"
The two of them burst out laughing at his complaint.
Leyna wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes and patted Nolan on the shoulder.
"Don't rush things. Enjoy the early days of your marriage. After all, once you have kids, you won't have as much free time."
Nolan smiled and nodded in agreement.
After the guest greeting session ended, the wedding hall suddenly went dark. Everything fell into darkness except for a few spotlights at the far end of the hall.
Then, a woman's voice echoed throughout the hall.
"The bride, please come in…"
