The hivemind is conquering for me?

Chapter 914: Perfect Means Perfect!

"Hello?" I asked, looking around. "Is anyone here alive?"

I was standing in a large expanse. As far as I could see was nothing but blood and corpses of humans and Drakoshi.

I couldn’t tell which way was which, There were no directional markers in the distance so I just started walking.

The act was tiring. The gaps between the bodies sucked me downwards, the rotting bodies gave out from under me. I wanted to get away from them, but my Gyrokinesis wasn’t working, so I just walked.

I lost track of time. The only thing that occasionally pulled me back from total monotony was the horrific smells on the plain of death.

Eventually though I saw movement in the distance. My eyes went wide. Something living? As I approached I forwent all caution and increased my pace. Upon closer inspection there was a figure. Walking across the corpses. In its hand was a blade made of blood. Occasionally it would stab a corpse on the ground before resuming its walk.

Once I got close to it I spoke up. "Hello?"

It stopped moving, its shoulders seized up, not expecting to hear a voice it seemed.

"Are you alright?" I asked. My question made the figure turn around and upon seeing who was there, my eyes went wide.

It was a skeleton’s face with two heterochromatic eyes. One blue, the other purple.

"Thanatos? I asked, but the skeletal face shook its head and pointed its blade at me. Not in aggression, but as an extension of its hand.

"We still need to fight. We aren’t done." It spoke, its voice tired and raspy.

"The war is done. We are done." I replied, the words spilling from me without my will.

As the figure spoke again, my face suddenly appeared on it. "We need to fight. We need to win."

"We did win. We always win." I spoke again, my words not being my choice.

"But... What if we aren’t the same? We killed. We became numb."

"We became numb to our enemies. The death of our allies, we felt that. That is more important."

The figure let out a long sigh before falling to its knees. "I am tired..."

"Me too." I said, walking towards the figure before placing my hand on its shoulder and kneeling with it.

We both looked at each other for a moment before the figure pulled up its blood sword. "We should probably go, right?" It asked and I nodded.

"Yeah, probably for the best. Apollo is messed up enough without developing split personalities"

"True that."

The figure in front of me then threw the blood sword hard, powerful into the distance, once it got a certain range, it began coming back, faster than before. It then turned to me and smiled. "Bye Sentinel. It was tiring, but also fun."

I nodded my head before hugging the figure. "It was, but we can rest now. Apollo will be fine."

As the blade came back with serious speed, I felt its edge cutting through my neck, tearing my flesh and-

...

"Ahh!" I screamed, sitting upwards, accidentally throwing Sapphire across the room as I did. I instantly checked my neck, ignoring Sapphire and her disapproving huffs for the moment.

"Fuck me..." I muttered as I got my bearings. The dream... It was slipping, but I remembered parts of it. What was it? What just happened?

"Ugh, I better not have PTSD. I will not be a happy camper, no sir." I groaned, but honestly? I actually felt quite good.

I felt rested and more importantly, unburdened. Closing my eyes I could still recall the memories of the war, so I hadn’t repressed anything. I still found it grim, sure. A bit sickly, but also acceptable. It happened. I am alive. My friends are alive.

And that was good.

"Hmm. For once whatever happened in my Mindspace is not trying to fuck me over... I’ll take the win."

"Apollo? Are you ok? You are talking to yourself quite a bit." I heard from behind me, turning to the sensual snake, I smiled.

"Yeah, I am fine. Sorry to worry you." I said, standing up. As I did so, I suddenly felt a big blue wall slam into me, hurling me into another wall.

Getting up again, I locked eyes with Sapphire and pointed at her. "Hey! What I did was an accident. I was having a weird dream. What you did was just bad manners! Bad kitty!"

Sapphire then proceeded to slowly walk towards me and brought her head to my eye level.

We proceeded to just stare at each other for a few moments before that was interrupted by a big wet sandpaper like tongue covered in immense amounts of slobber that proceeded to paint my face.

"Oh, gee. Thanks for that. I was feeling the need for a bath..."

Sapphire then removed herself from reality and went right back to her spot under my Origin for more sleepy time, free from retaliation... For now.

After burning away the slobber, I turned to Sithrik and asked. "Where are the others?"

"They left. There was an announcement that the ship was reaching its destination in twenty minutes."

"How long ago was that?" I inquired.

"About ten minutes ago, my king.

I yawned, getting the last of the sleep out of my system.

"Oh really? That’s good. Come on, let’s go find them, but first. Can you help me find my- Oh you are wearing my shirt?" I suddenly clocked onto the fact that Sithrik was wearing an item of clothing.

It was way too big on her and the neck hole fell all the way down her shoulder.

"Yes. I hope you don’t mind? It smelled like you and it made me happy."

I looked at Sithrik for a few moments. The look was very attractive to me.

"It’s cool, I wasn’t using it. Borrowing it is fine, just don’t steal them from me outright in the future, ok?"

Sithrik looked baffled by what I just asked. "Steal? From you? My lover, why would I ever do such a thing?"

I chuckled at Sithrik. "I will tell you another time. Come on, let’s go find them."

...

With Sithrik in her danger noodle form around my neck, I began to make my way through the ship.

I had no idea where I was going, but I decided to let luck guide my path.

Luck did not help me find the two Nymphs, but it did lead me directly to someone else.

"Oh, Serena. Hey." I called out to her as she was walking past with another individual. Upon hearing me, she turned and smiled at me. She then said something to the person she was with and walked towards me as the other continued on.

"Apollo. How are you doing?" She asked, a smile plastered on her lips.

"I am fine. I am dreading this whole party thing at the palace though. I remember having to stand for pictures for way too long."

"Hehe~" Serena giggled. "I actually agree with you there. I hate the picture stuff, but it is good for the public image so I tolerate it. Though I suppose you have some time before the party, it won’t start for another two days.

"It won’t?"

Serena shook her head. "Well, it was supposed to be tomorrow, that’s what Sigismund wanted, but apparently Dickon wants to make it an extravagant feast. As a result Nobles need a few days to gather. I don’t know why though, Dickon usually doesn’t throw such extravagant parties for Sigismund’s victories."

...

Meanwhile:

"We need food! All the food! We need balloons! We need weapons! Psionic beverages! Normal beverages! Get out treasures from the vaults for display! Hurry up! Call everyone! This party has to be perfect!" King Dickon yelled as people passed him in the courtroom.

This was an important day coming up. It couldn’t go wrong. Even with the time he had to prepare, he wasn’t sure it was going to be perfect. But it had to go perfectly for one very simple reason. He knew for a fact. 100% Guaranteed his little princess was going to be in attendance. No ifs and or butts. She had told him herself that of course she would be there. It was a joint party of victory and for peace... And her *gag* New, scrunty, ’friend’ was going to naturally be there.

That last part didn’t matter. All that mattered is that Hailey would be here. For more than just a few hours. Perhaps if she saw how hard he was working she would come talk to him? Tell him how good of a dad he is for doing all of this and perhaps... just perhaps.

Give him a hug and a kiss on the cheek?

Dickon had to sit down for a moment on his throne at the thought, his heart was racing too fast at the most wonderful vision inside his mind. That was until a Servant walked past him, carrying a marble statuette worth millions.

"What do you think you are doing with that trash?!? Throw it out and get something better! Do you not understand the words coming out of my mouth?!? Perfect means perfect! Now go and bring me something better before I do something drastic!"

...

I shrugged my shoulders and replied,

"Maybe he is excited for peace?"
