[Title: Breaking News! Kang, S-Rank Hunter, Turns Himself In for Assault Case]
(Body: On the 11th, it was belatedly revealed that Kang Chang-ho (32), South Korea's third S-Rank awakened individual, had become embroiled in yet another scandal—just a few months after the tablet incident involving a news reporter.
Hunter Kang claimed that he was the person involved in the recent viral video on social media showing the abuse of psychic powers. He stated that the incident had been almost entirely one-sided, with him being the one throwing the punches, and announced that he would offer a sincere apology and compensation to his fellow industry colleague, Mr. Kim, the victim.
However, because the person responsible for the assault is a Hunter who has already been at the center of multiple controversies, the public has begun questioning the sincerity of his apology. In response to a reporter's question about whether the incident had been a mutual assault involving the industry's top-ranked Hunter, Kang Chang-ho reportedly stated, "This was entirely my fault. The other party's response did not go beyond the bounds of self-defense," and, "The injuries I suffered were minor, so I have no intention of pressing countercharges."
The prosecution has confirmed Kang Chang-ho's voluntary surrender and has begun an investigation into the matter.)
« Re: What is this? Did this come out today?
« Re: Yes. It's an internet article from today. ^^
« Re: Whoa~
« Re: Crazy b*stard.
Kang Changho... seriously. Even before becoming a Hunter, he was bragging about some bought college degree.
It's always guys like that who end up beating people—an awakened one throwing punches? Seriously?
« Re: What a nasty temper -_-;
« Re: Tsk... Well, I just can't stay neutral when it comes to things like this »

[Title: The post one of our members shared earlier has even made it onto the news.]

Anchor: However, during the recent reporter tablet incident, the Hunter remained silent despite repeated interview requests. This time, however, he has made the unusual decision to appear in public and offer a formal apology.
Anchor: The circumstances surrounding the 'brawl' revealed at the public apology press conference are startling. Hunter Kang admitted that around the 16th, he began harboring a grudge after the industry's number-one-ranked Hunter intervened and prevented a dispute from being resolved the way he wanted. He then attempted to retaliate against that same top-tier awakened individual, but changed his plans after witnessing the reaction of his industry peers, ultimately turning himself in at a police station...]
« Re: Not sure if I understood the video right, but to sum it up, are you saying two S-ranks ended up hitting each other???
« Re: Re: No, originally, the third- and fourth-ranked Hunters almost got into a serious fight (not sure why, but people are speculating it had something to do with dungeon profit sharing). Haseong, who happened to be nearby, stepped in and stopped them. That's why it didn't turn into a huge incident the first time. (REST)
« Re: Re: After that, Kang kept holding a grudge against Kim and hung around for several days. Then an abnormal gate suddenly appeared and caused the studio apartment building to collapse. Kang figured the landlord would have to come out, so he waited outside and attacked him—this was the second incident. It wasn't all three of them fighting at once.
« Re: Just reading this makes me furious. Our country's laws suck—even after going through something like that, it's ridiculously hard to get a restraining order.
« Re: The court shouldn't go easy on him just because he's a Hunter—repeat offenders should be punished even more severely!!
« Re: Guys, shouldn't we be focusing less on Kang Changho's use of violence and more on the shocking circumstances that led to him turning himself in? R𝐀NO𐌱Êṩ

(Summary: Kang Changho decided to turn himself in because the victim's response unexpectedly caused his crime to remain merely an attempted offense.
On the afternoon of the 16th, Kim Giryeo (25) spotted Kang arriving in front of his house and immediately moved elsewhere to prevent any further disturbance to the neighbors.
Kang Changho (32) explained that he tried his best to resolve the situation through conversation, but when ordinary negotiations failed, he ultimately resorted to force in an attempt to subdue the other party.
Clashes between awakened individuals can easily result in serious injuries, even when they fight barehanded. However, Hunter Kim reportedly managed to hold him off for approximately 10 minutes without suffering any significant injuries, all while attempting to calm down his fellow Hunter.
In an interview with Jungaesong Daily, Kang said, "I had planned and fully intended to harm Kim Giryeo, but he completely stopped me, which left me flustered," and, "At first, that only made me even angrier."
So if Kang was frustrated because things did not go his way and continued to harbor a grudge, why did he eventually decide to turn himself in?
Hunter Kang explained that it was because of a certain gate.
"Lately, the country seems to be going crazy, with yet another abnormal phenomenon occurring at the exact place where we were fighting. But unexpectedly, in the other world where I was taken, I saw Hunter Kim helping people tremendously, and that made me realize just how reckless my actions had been..."
(omitted... The police are currently investigating the exact circumstances.
« Re: What kind of article is this?! Can someone summarize it?
« Re: Re: An S-rank awakened criminal charged at him, but this guy in his twenties spent ten whole minutes trying to talk him down (and didn't even get injured).
« Re: Re: Wow, « «
« Re: I don't know what personal issue started all this, but Hunter Kang must have put him through at least two or three days of hell because of it. Still, judging by the way he helped everyone in the dungeon, maybe those rumors about that blond guy having an unusually good character are true. They say there's a fine line between being a good person and being a pushover, but I guess the difference comes down to whether you've got power or not.
« Re: Why should we cut a criminal any slack? I was about to say it was stupid not to fight back properly when you're being harassed, but now that I've looked again... wait, there wasn't even anything for him to get angry about? They're saying Kim Giryeo didn't even get hit?
« Re: Re: Generally speaking, the stronger someone becomes, the calmer and more peaceful their personality tends to get.
« Re: This proves it. Jung Haseong and Kim Giryeo—these two young men are Hunters who are perfect in both skill and character!!
« Re: Sir, sir, why are you leaving out the Guild Master of the Magic Tower~
« Re: Re: That one? She's a player I've had problems with in SOM. She was infamous for hunting people down, cursing them out, and PK-ing like a rabid dog. -_- Can't exactly say she's got a good temperament.
« Re: So wait, are we saying KCH got overpowered by a 25-year-old, had a change of heart, and then turned himself in for attempted assault??
« Re: Re: It's a little different.
By law, there is no separate punishment for merely attempting simple assault. The reason Hunter Kang voluntarily appeared at the police station this time was because of the assault incident involving Jung Haseong at the sand training ground.
However, I live near Gangnam Police Station, and from what I've heard, the matter has been settled peacefully, so the case will probably be closed without charges.
« Re: If something this serious happened, Jung Haseong should've spoken up sooner. Why did he stay silent all this time? Don't we, the public, have a right to know the truth?
« Re: Re: They said his injuries were minor, so taking legal action would've been difficult anyway- It's people like you who are always stirring up anti-awakened sentiment. Of course he wouldn't want to recklessly issue a public statement.
« Re: Guys, breaking news on YTV. A spokesperson from Garion has given an interview too.
[Kim, who recently revealed himself to be one of the parties involved in the Incheon awakened clash incident, is drawing public attention. According to a witness who accompanied the parties during the face-to-face questioning at Seoul Gangnam Police Station, Kim and Kang were confirmed to have submitted a settlement agreement after approximately three hours of discussion.]
[Hunter Jung Haseong, who was harmed in the «Labor Over Money» incident, displayed a remarkably magnanimous attitude toward Kang, the man who assaulted him. Rather than demanding simple monetary compensation, he requested a price befitting a true Hunter—and, in return, offered leniency.]
[Breaking News! Kang Changho says, "Jung Haseong's demands are fair. I've decided to accept them all," and, "As a gesture of apology, I will faithfully carry out my duties as a Hunter for the time being."]
After several special reports broke one after another.
"Patient... what's wrong?"
9 a.m. Dark clouds blanketed the sky, making it somewhat difficult to judge the exact hour, but once again, it was an ordinary morning in Korea.
At that moment, the hospital's nutrition team had just delivered my source of energy. With a piece of seasoned zucchini held between my chopsticks, I froze in place and stared at my phone for a long while.
[Breaking News! Kang, S-Rank Hunter, Turns Himself In for Assault Case]
After reading the articles beneath the headline, only one thought came to mind.
[...In an interview, Kang said, "I had planned and fully intended to harm Kim Giryeo, but he completely stopped me, which left me flustered."...]
Is he crazy?
[[BEST COMMENT] At this point, the actual ranking between Jung, Seo, Kim, and Kang is probably something like this -> =]
How can someone do something like this unless they're genuinely insane?
"Oh! His vital signs are suddenly..."
I set my meal aside and continued browsing the web, but for some reason, unknown numbers kept appearing on the old phone's screen. They were interview requests from curious reporters.
"Why is your heart rate rising like this? Patient, please calm down!"
I had been tired, so I lay down for a while before getting up again. I never imagined that public opinion could have shifted this much in such a short span of time.
"Why? Why on earth?"
To understand the situation more clearly, I needed to contact the person directly involved. So I rejected the latest call from a reporter and immediately reached out to someone...
[Text Message Box]
[Kim: Hunter Kang Changho]
[Kim: Just saw the news... Actually, no, please call me as soon as you read this message.]
[Kim: Seriously, please, really, I'm begging you.]
After I sent several messages in succession, fortunately, a reply arrived from the other party soon afterward.
[Kang:?]
Huh? A question mark?
[Kang: What's the intention behind that last text?]
[Kim: Why the last text?]
[Kang: No, nothing.]
There was a brief exchange that made absolutely no sense to me, but anyway, I had managed to get in touch with him, so that was enough.
[Kang: But I'm a little busy right now. Why do you want to call? Is it something that can't be explained through text?]
[Kim: No, it's not that. I usually find phone calls easier because the keypad on this phone is small... But if it's difficult for you to talk right now, texting is fine too.]
I immediately confronted Kang Changho.
[Kim: Anyway, what the hell is with that statement you just gave to the media??]
And that was me putting it very mildly.
What I really wanted to do was curse him out and demand to know what kind of nonsense he had been spewing in public.
They say modern humans on Earth have become severely addicted to dopamine thanks to the advancement of media. So, assuming there's a mammal with a diminished attention span sitting in front of me, allow me to summarize what the other party claimed across various media outlets.
South Korea's third-ranked S-rank and fourth-ranked S-rank Hunters recently clashed—and the third-ranked Hunter was utterly defeated!
And not only that, but the fourth-ranked Hunter, after demonstrating his overwhelming ability, even magnanimously rescued his own attacker from inside a gate...
"Are you crazy?"
Anyway, apart from the fact that I ended up taking that tap hit inside the EX-rank gate, none of what they're saying is true.
Thanks to the outrageous lies Kang Changho had shamelessly spread around, I had suddenly become mistaken for some kind of Hunter powerful enough to overpower even another S-rank.
[Kang: What's the problem?]
But when questioned, this Earth-style psychopath reacted as though I were the unreasonable one.
[Kang: Hunter Kim Giryeo. As you know, quite a lot has happened between us over the past few hours. But even if we somehow overlook the assault...]
[Kang: Holding someone against their will can land you in prison. Unlawful detention or confinement doesn't even carry the option of a fine.]
[Kang: And besides, how exactly are we supposed to explain to the world an incident tangled up with Justitia and the Knights' Oath in the first place?]
[Kim: No]
[Kang: That's why I left you a message this morning when I left the hospital. I clearly said I wanted to handle the police and the media from my side, and you definitely agreed to that, didn't you?]
[Kim: I didn't know you were going to handle it like this.]
[Kang: Is that so?]
Kang Changho sent his next message without paying the slightest attention to my objection.
[Kang: But honestly, I actually tried to handle things in a way that would preserve your dignity as much as possible, so I don't really understand why you keep complaining about it.]
[Kang: If you shouted, "That's because I'm really not an S-rank!"—well, you've already gone through so much hardship living as an F-rank weakling on Earth during the early days of your reincarnation that changing your rank isn't exactly something you can decide on lightly.]
[Kang: Or perhaps, Kim Giryeo-ssi, are you thinking of suing me? Do you hate lies so much that you want me to properly pay for my crimes in prison?]
[Kang: Well, if you really want to use your wish on something like that, I won't stop you...]
The conversation continued for several more minutes after that, but nothing really changed.
As Kang Changho had said, there were only so many ways to conceal a chain of crimes involving terrorism, kidnapping, and death threats.
"In fact, I didn't really want to keep it secret."
Moreover, he even slipped in a veiled warning that if this matter wasn't properly covered up, the contract we had only recently managed to settle might become rather interesting again...
A brief silence followed.
But no matter how long I thought about it, I couldn't come up with an answer.
So I ended the conversation rather abruptly and soon placed my phone face down on the corner of the bed.

After that, all that remained in the hospital room were my half-cooled meal and the awakened nurse who had come in to administer my blood-pressure medication.
"Um, would you... like me to bring you a fresh meal?"
"No. It's fine."
Clank.
I picked up the chopsticks I had set down.
Then, with empty eyes, I lifted another piece of seasoned zucchini and resumed my belated breakfast.
Phew, f*ck...
