Chapter 1325: Chapter 1325: Files (Part 2)
While investigating Xv Qinghuan, her father was also one of the people being investigated. The back half of page two contains Xv Qinghuan’s father’s information.
Xv Hongliang, who retired from the Northern Combat Training Area twenty-five years ago. After serving as a bodyguard for two years, he returned to Kanyue City and opened a martial arts cram school. Due to poor business, he moved the school back to his hometown, barely making a living.
As for his skills in karate, Tai Chi, and the like, they were all learned before he joined the military. His master was an obscure old man who has already passed away.
Seeing this, Lin Tian put down the information in his hands and gently tapped his fingers on the table.
He reviewed the data in his mind, sorting out the important points.
There’s no doubt that Xv Qinghuan’s family has secrets. To say the least, the old man who taught Xv Hongliang these martial arts could not have been obscure; his identity must have been concealed. He might even be alive still.
Moreover, if Xv Hongliang truly had those skills, he wouldn’t be doing so poorly, nor would he have been beaten so badly by Hu and the others.
Another questionable point is that this data does not mention Xv Qinghuan’s mother at all!
These are all points of suspicion!
Lin Tian really hadn’t expected that while working behind the scenes for his brother’s safety, he’d uncover so much.
Right now, Lin Tian had only one thought: he mustn’t let Li have any connection with this woman, absolutely not!
With this thought in mind, Lin Tian quickly took out his phone and dialed Li’s number.
After a few rings, the call connected.
"Hey, what’s up?"
On the other end, Li’s voice was very relaxed and had a hint of laughter. He wasn’t usually like this.
"Nothing much. Where are you now?" Lin Tian asked.
"Hmm... In a restaurant next to our school. The name’s in English, I didn’t pay attention. What’s up? I’m going to watch a movie later." Li replied.
"..."
Lin Tian could now confirm that Li must have already asked out his new idol, and from the way they were talking, it was going well. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be planning to watch a movie later.
If the movie heats up the feelings, and something passionate happens later, it’ll already be too late!
Lin Tian was hesitant about whether or not to tell Li about Xv Qinghuan’s family matters. After all, investigating people behind their backs is quite disgraceful, and Lin Tian didn’t want it to create a rift between him and Li.
Moreover, even if he told Li, this guy might not take it seriously.
"Are you gonna say anything? What’s the matter?" Li urged again.
After thinking for a moment, Lin Tian said, "It’s nothing. I’ll hang up now. Take care."
Li wanted to say more, but the call had already been disconnected, leaving him bewildered.
"What’s up?" Xv Qinghuan asked Li.
"It’s nothing." Li smiled at Xv Qinghuan and said, "Huanhuan, do you have any plans for the summer vacation? How about I take you out?"
Li and Xv Qinghuan get along really well; they have a great rapport, otherwise they wouldn’t be using the intimate nickname "Huanhuan."
Xv Qinghuan smiled and shook her head, "You’ve forgotten. I’m a senior; it’s not summer vacation. I need to find a job after graduation."
"With your excellent grades, everyone would surely compete to hire you. No rush." Li said.
"I’m not looking for a job; I want to open a martial arts school." Xv Qinghuan said with a smile.
"Open a martial arts school?" Li didn’t catch on right away. "That’s not related to our major at all."
"My dad owns a martial arts school, and I like it too. Let me tell you some stories from my childhood."
"Sure."
...
Lin Tian reviewed Xv Qinghuan’s materials again, besides the two filtered pages, he also went through another small pile, which included events from Xv Qinghuan’s life.
After reading the material, Lin Tian understood Xv Qinghuan much more deeply.
He was certain of one thing: after watching the movie, Xv Qinghuan wouldn’t even let Li hold her hand, let alone anything more intimate.
Lin Tian was thankful he hadn’t mentioned those things earlier; this still needed some maneuvering.
Putting away Xv Qinghuan’s information, Lin Tian sent another text to Pang Yu: Investigate Xv Hongliang again, leave nothing out.
Three seconds later, Lin Tian received Pang Yu’s reply: Understood.
After setting aside his phone, Lin Tian picked up another envelope, which contained Huang He’s information. To Lin Tian’s surprise, this stack was quite thick, much thicker than Xv Qinghuan’s file. Both traditional and simplified versions were available.
Lin Tian wasn’t very interested in Huang He, but he didn’t expect such a thick stack.
It specifically delved into Huang He’s family background. His ancestors originally lived in the countryside, thus they were farmers dealing with crops. At the time, his grandfather opened an orchard, which had been passed down to his father’s generation, and it had grown quite large and strong, even reaching a point of scale and exportation.
To put it that way, roughly a third of the fruit purchased in Kanyue City came from their family.
Suddenly, Lin Tian became interested as this was somewhat similar to his family’s situation. His family’s orchard was also headed down this path.
As he continued reading, Lin Tian realized that the Huang family’s orchard was inimitable. The reason was simple: back then, fruit was scarce, and they were one of the first to plant orchards, so the market slice was very large, enough to sustain them well. Some export channels were even monopolized.
In essence, there were grudges not only between Huang He and Lin Tian but even the Huang family’s orchard was an adversary to his own.
Although Lin Tian wasn’t very concerned with the orchard, Lin Hao was.
Lin Tian suddenly remembered the day at Mr. Lo’s house drinking, where he made a lot of big talk. Things didn’t seem as optimistic now.
After reading everything, Lin Tian tossed the file aside as if he hadn’t read it at all. In fact, matters concerning the Huang family were now at the back of Lin Tian’s mind.
Just another commercial family, such families were everywhere in Kanyue City. Even if they sought revenge, they needed the capability too, right?
Knock, knock, knock...
The study door was knocked, and Bai Shishi walked in with a bowl of chicken soup. Smiling at Lin Tian, she said, "Have something to eat."
Seeing Bai Shishi, Lin Tian’s mood improved greatly. He smiled and asked, "Didn’t we just eat? Also, this chicken soup is for you."
Bai Shishi placed the bowl of chicken soup on Lin Tian’s desk, tucked a lock of hair behind her ear, and with a pained expression said, "I can’t eat."
"Can’t eat?" Lin Tian’s expression turned worried as he asked, "Are you feeling unwell?"
