Under Lin Fei’s guise, Hou Qitian was completely human, akin to imagining a human-clothed Sun Wukong. In fact, Hou Qitian looked even more human-like than Sun Wukong, except for the fur on his body, making him seem just like a person.
"Get lost!"
The Judge roared loudly, charging at Hou Qitian with overwhelming momentum. Hou Qitian shook his head and then punched out.
"Ah!!"
A miserable scream echoed, and that Judge flew backward, spurting a mouthful of blood. Like a cannonball, he crashed into the audience seating, collapsing a section of it instantly, but fortunately, no one was hurt.
"How is this possible?!" The audience was stunned. The man beside Lin Fei was unbelievably strong. He sent a Judge of the First Transition in the True Body Realm flying with a single punch, and from the looks of it, the Judge couldn’t get up, clearly severely injured!
"You brought this on yourself, don’t blame me. You intended to kill me, right? But, unfortunately for you, there’s no way you can kill me, and with your strength alone, you have no right to do so." After speaking, Lin Fei ignored the heavily injured Judge and walked away.
To him, the Judge’s near-suicidal behavior was sheer stupidity.
Moreover, Lin Fei understood that even without Hou Qitian’s help, the Judge couldn’t kill him. After all, for Lin Fei, the opponent wasn’t a threat to his life, but the Judge was unaware of this.
Lin Fei turned and walked away, and no one dared to stop him. What everyone feared more was Hou Qitian behind Lin Fei, who left the strongest impression of awe.
Lin Fei approached Li Kuang and Yu Lun and said, "Let’s go find an inn to settle down. However, it’s clear that the Empire won’t be providing us with food and accommodation."
That statement was entirely true. Given what’s already been done, there’s no going back, nothing to repent over. So Lin Fei could already foresee that even if they went to the Imperial Palace, they’d likely end up humiliated. It would be better instead to find an inn, which is more convenient and sensible.
At this point, Lin Fei could only proceed this way. There’s no other option now after offending the King, that’s just how it is.
However, Lin Fei felt it necessary to visit the palace, albeit not immediately. But rather, to wait a while before going. As to when, Lin Fei gave an answer during the night.
The three found an inn to stay in, and then at night, Lin Fei prepared to head out.
"Lin Fei, where are you headed at this hour?" Li Kuang asked. Yu Lun was also curious about where Lin Fei was planning to go in the middle of the night.
"Going to the palace, you guys go to sleep." Lin Fei said, then disappeared from the scene with Hou Qitian.
"I wonder where Lin Fei is off to." Li Kuang sighed.
"Forget about it, there’s nothing we can do. What’s most important for us now is to handle the current situation first; we can’t do anything about the rest." Yu Lun said.
Li Kuang chuckled.
"What are you laughing at?" Yu Lun asked.
Li Kuang answered Yu Lun’s question, "I’m laughing at you, of course. I never expected you to have such a side, worrying and all."
Yu Lun blushed, "Enough nonsense, go to sleep!"
Then laughter and Yu Lun’s cursing echoed in the room before dying away completely.
Taking advantage of the night, Lin Fei, with Hou Qitian, arrived at the Imperial Palace. The palace was grand, but Lin Fei wasn’t in the mood to admire it. He leapt into the air without causing any disturbance or alerting anyone, already arriving at the top of the palace—where the King conducted his affairs.
The King, Lai Tianhu, was working in the grand hall. Many ministers were discussing matters.
"Your Majesty, isn’t this inappropriate? If we proceed like this, the citizens might develop strange notions." A minister spoke.
"Strange notions? What weird notions? Whatever they think, I don’t care. Regardless, that’s the decision—cancel his slot and assign it to my son. As for whether to let him go, just send him away and let Qianhuang Peak deal with him!" King Lai Tianhu said.
Hearing this, the minister sighed, saying, "Doing so will certainly cause many citizens to lose faith in you, Your Majesty."
"I don’t care. This is my country. I don’t care what they think. Here, I make the rules. Submit to me and live; oppose me and perish!" Lai Tianhu answered domineeringly.
"Is that so?!"
A voice sounded, loud within the grand hall, echoing and startling everyone. Lai Tianhu slammed his dragon throne, shouting, "Who dares to be so bold?! Come out!"
Lin Fei laughed, about to emerge, but remarked, "Oh, I’m not coming out. If I came out just because you asked, wouldn’t that be a loss of face?" Lin Fei sat down, crossed his legs, and responded, entirely in a playful standoff.
But that’s how it was. If he really accommodated the other side, wouldn’t it make them even more arrogant?
Ignoring their words, Lin Fei awaited the King’s response.
Lai Tianhu immediately ordered, "How presumptuous! Guards! Find that speaker! I refuse to believe you won’t come out!"
Lin Fei was speechless, "Oh, you’re confronting me, are you? If I let you find me, wouldn’t that be even more embarrassing? Let me tell you, even if you turn this place upside down, you won’t find me today!"
Hearing Lin Fei’s words, Lai Tianhu became angry, shouting, "Guards! Find this guy—if you dare to keep talking, I won’t believe we can’t find you!"
"Hehe, find me first!" Lin Fei said, crossing his legs and waiting for the surrounding guards to search for him.
Meanwhile, Lin Fei noticed more and more guards filling the palace, almost overcrowding it, all looking for him but failing to locate him, leaving them puzzled.
"Your Majesty! There’s no one below; perhaps he’s above. Should we..." a guard queried.
"Search! Find him! Use any means necessary to locate him!" King Lai Tianhu shouted angrily.
