Zeldryn was truly starting to lose his patience.

His frustration had been building up this entire time.

He had tried thinking.

Searching for a way.

Remembering every bit of knowledge he had.

But the result was always the same.

Nothing.

And what made it even worse was that Kera hadn't stopped at all.

WHAM!

A kick suddenly struck Zeldryn from the side.

“GUAK!”

His body was sent flying before crashing onto the floor.

Zeldryn didn't even know where the next attack would come from.

He couldn't see Kera.

All he had been able to hear this entire time was the man's voice.

Then a punch.

A kick.

And another insult.

“Get up,” Kera's voice said.

Zeldryn gritted his teeth and tried to rise.

Just as one knee lifted from the floor...

THUD!

A blow struck his back.

“KUGGH!”

Zeldryn fell again.

“So weak,” Kera said.

Zeldryn clenched his fist.

He looked right.

No one.

He looked left.

Empty.

All he could see was the room and thousands of mana particles filling the air.

“Even after all this time, you still haven't figured out how I'm hiding myself?”

Kera's voice came again.

Zeldryn immediately turned toward the source.

But there was still no one there.

“Tch.”

Kera's voice sounded again.

“You're still relying on your ears.”

WHAM!

Another kick struck Zeldryn's side.

“BASTARD!”

Zeldryn was sent tumbling again.

Kera was beginning to get tired of watching him.

Almost twenty minutes.

For nearly twenty minutes, Zeldryn had been punched, kicked, knocked down, and forced to stand back up.

And yet...

There had been no progress.

Not even a little.

He couldn't even release the mana already inside his body.

Kera finally spoke again.

“It's been almost twenty minutes, brat.”

Zeldryn breathed heavily.

If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

“I'm starting to get bored.”

Zeldryn tried guessing Kera's location from his voice.

But the voice moved again.

“Over here?”

Zeldryn immediately turned.

“No.”

Kera's voice suddenly came from the opposite direction.

Zeldryn quickly turned again.

“Heh.”

Kera gave a short laugh.

“If all you do is chase my voice, you won't be able to touch me even by tomorrow.”

Zeldryn was genuinely irritated.

Bastard.

“Are you cursing me in your head?”

Zeldryn immediately went silent.

“No need to answer. It's written all over your face.”

Kera clicked his tongue.

“Tch.”

Then his tone became more irritated.

“How long are you going to take, damn it?”

Zeldryn tried to stand again.

“I'm getting tired of doing this over and over.”

Kera's voice came from somewhere in the room.

“At this rate, I really might kill you.”

Zeldryn steadied his breathing.

Kera continued.

“Use the mana inside your Mana Hole.”

Zeldryn remained silent.

“Then direct it toward your eyes.”

Zeldryn still said nothing.

“Your eyes, stupid brat.”

Kera's voice grew more impatient.

“Not your legs.”

“Not your hands.”

“Your eyes.”

Zeldryn gritted his teeth.

I know, damn it.

He understood what Kera meant.

The problem was how.

How the hell am I supposed to move the mana?!

Zeldryn had already tried all kinds of things.

He had touched mana particles before.

His hand passed straight through them.

He had blown on them.

They didn't move.

Slapped at them.

No reaction.

Trying to catch them had been pointless too.

And now this invisible lunatic was simply telling him,

Use the mana.

Direct it toward your eyes.

As though it were as simple as moving an arm.

“What are you thinking about now?”

Kera's voice came again.

Zeldryn remained silent.

“How to move mana?”

Zeldryn flinched slightly.

Kera chuckled.

“It's painfully obvious from your face.”

Zeldryn became even more irritated.

“If I tell you everything, then what do you need a brain for?”

Zeldryn wanted to answer.

But he didn't even know which direction to face while speaking.

“Figure it out yourself.”

Kera paused.

“You can already see mana.”

“You have a Mana Hole.”

“There is already mana inside your body.”

“So use it.”

Zeldryn almost wanted to scream.

THAT'S THE PROBLEM. HOW?!

He wasn't originally from this world.

Zeldryn hadn't grown up around mana.

He had never learned how to use it as a child.

No one had ever taught him anything about Mana Holes.

Until only a few days ago, all of this had been nothing more than something he read about in fiction.

I'm a human from the modern world, damn it.

Zeldryn took a rough breath.

What do I usually do?

Read novels.

Play games.

Imagine stories.

Use his imagination.

Daydream.

I'm not some genius either.

Zeldryn gritted his teeth.

Then...

He stopped.

Wait.

Daydreaming?

Imagination?

Something suddenly crossed his mind.

Didn't plenty of novels have characters who used their powers through imagination?

Imagining a shape.

Imagining movement.

Imagining the result they wanted.

Sure, those were just novels.

But now he was living in a world where mana actually existed.

What was the harm in trying?

Besides, Zeldryn was already too frustrated to care whether the idea made sense.

Screw it.

Zeldryn immediately closed his eyes.

Kera's voice came right away.

“Hm?”

Zeldryn ignored him.

“What now?”

He remained silent.

“Don't tell me you've given up and decided to sleep.”

Zeldryn still didn't answer.

He tried focusing his entire mind.

Mana.

The mana gathered inside his body.

Zeldryn imagined it moving.

Upward.

Slowly toward his head.

Then toward both of his eyes.

Move.

Nothing happened.

Toward my eyes.

Still nothing.

Zeldryn tried again.

Over and over.

He tried imagining the mana flowing toward his eyes as clearly as possible.

Dozens of seconds passed.

Then nearly a minute.

Kera's voice came again.

“Still not done?”

Zeldryn continued concentrating.

“Brat.”

No answer.

Kera finally lost his patience.

“Then keep going while dealing with this.”

WHAM!

A hard kick suddenly struck Zeldryn's chest.

“GUAK!”

His concentration shattered instantly.

His body flew backward.

Zeldryn opened his eyes while clutching his chest.

“Bastard...”

Kera immediately replied.

“Finally decided to speak.”

Zeldryn gritted his teeth.

What the hell was I expecting?

Nothing had happened.

The mana hadn't moved toward his eyes.

He still couldn't see Kera.

Absolutely nothing had changed.

Zeldryn opened his eyes wide.

All he could still see were mana particles.

Thousands of them.

Floating throughout the room.

Moving according to their own patterns.

Some passed by each other.

Some went straight through one another.

And not a single one followed his will.

“Failed?”

Kera's voice sounded again.

Zeldryn remained silent.

“Heh.”

Kera chuckled.

“Your face already tells me everything.”

Zeldryn became even more annoyed.

He stared at the mana particles around him.

Why can't I move you either?

He had already tried using imagination on the mana inside his body.

It failed.

So what about the mana outside?

Zeldryn shifted his gaze toward the far end of the room.

There, two mana particles were moving fairly close to each other.

He stared at them.

No theory.

No basis.

Zeldryn didn't genuinely expect anything to happen either.

He was simply extremely irritated.

If I really can't move the mana inside my body...

Zeldryn tried imagining the two particles moving.

Closer.

Colliding.

I hope you two just smash into each other, damn it.

Zeldryn kept staring at them.

And explode while you're at it.

There wasn't much expectation behind the thought.

He was already waiting for Kera's next punch.

Zeldryn slowly closed his eyes.

His body tensed slightly, as though preparing itself for the next blow or kick.

After nearly twenty minutes of being treated like this, he was almost getting used to waiting for the next wave of pain.

But suddenly...

The two particles moved.

Slightly.

Zeldryn didn't notice it immediately.

They slowly moved closer to one another.

Closer.

And then...

BOOM!

A small explosion sounded from the far end of the room.

It wasn't loud.

Only about as loud as a firecracker going off indoors.

Zeldryn, who had already closed his eyes, immediately opened them.

“...!?”

He froze.

And Zeldryn wasn't the only one.

Kera, who had been watching him this entire time, also fell silent for a moment.

“...Huh!?”
