The Life I Refuse to Waste

[NOT A CHAPTER] I Need Your Honest Feedback

Hey guys!

First of all, sorry. This isn't a new chapter.

I know some of you probably clicked on this expecting the story to continue, so I apologize for the fake alarm 😹

I normally wouldn't make a separate update just for something like this, but there's something I've genuinely been thinking about lately, and I really want to hear what you guys think.

I've been looking back at the chapters I've written so far, especially the earlier ones, and I've started questioning my writing more than I expected.

So I wanted to ask those of you who have actually been following the story:

Is the story easy to follow?

And more importantly, how does the writing itself feel to you?

I know my prose and presentation style can be a little unusual compared to more conventional novels. I tend to use shorter paragraphs, isolated sentences, internal thoughts, pauses, sound effects, and sometimes things like !!, !!?, or ... as part of the way I present a scene.

That's simply the way I've naturally written this story from the beginning.

But recently I've been wondering how that style actually feels from the other side of the screen.

Does it make the story easy and fast to read?

Does it help you visualize what's happening?

Or does it sometimes feel awkward, repetitive, fragmented, or even difficult to read?

I'm genuinely curious.

And this isn't me asking you to tell me that the story is good.

Seriously.

If you think something is bad, you can tell me it's bad. If my prose feels strange, tell me. If there was a chapter where you almost stopped reading, I'd actually love to know why. If the pacing is too slow, the dialogue feels unnatural, something is confusing, or there's a writing habit of mine that annoys you, that's exactly the kind of feedback I'm looking for.

Of course, I'd also love to know what you think is working.

What made you continue reading?

Was there a particular character, mystery, chapter, scene, or part of the world that made you want to click Next Chapter?

I'm still learning, and this is something I genuinely want to improve at. At the same time, I don't want to suddenly change the entire way I write without understanding what readers actually think about it first.

That's why I'm asking you directly.

You don't need to write a full review or anything complicated. Even a short comment telling me what you like or dislike would already help me a lot.

And if you'd rather not leave it publicly, feel free to send me a PM instead.

Please don't worry about hurting my feelings. Honest criticism is completely welcome. You don't have to sugarcoat anything.

I would much rather hear what you genuinely think than spend my time guessing what readers think from numbers and statistics.

Anyway, that's all I wanted to ask.

Sorry again for making an update that isn't actually a chapter

And to everyone who has been reading this story, whether you've been here since the beginning or only found it recently:
