Chapter 162: 162.
Lin Xuan opened the door for the newcomer.
The moment the door swung inward, his gaze fell upon a familiar figure standing in the corridor.
It was the young girl he had encountered on the day he first entered Clearbrook City.
She was still wearing the same somewhat worn clothes, though her appearance was noticeably different from their previous encounter.
Her hands were trembling, and her face had lost much of its earlier arrogance. She stood stiffly before him, as though she had spent a great deal of courage merely convincing herself to knock on his door.
Lin Xuan’s eyes narrowed slightly.
He had not expected to see her again.
The girl swallowed nervously when their gazes met. Her fingers tightened around a small cloth pouch, and after hesitating for several breaths, she hurriedly extended it toward him with both hands.
"Senior..."
Her voice trembled.
Lin Xuan did not immediately take the pouch.
"What is this?"
The girl lowered her head even further.
"Spirit stones."
Her fingers trembled more violently as she held the pouch out.
"I... I brought these to you."
Lin Xuan glanced at the pouch before looking back at her.
"Why?"
The girl took a deep breath.
Then, as though afraid that she would lose her courage if she hesitated any longer, she bowed deeply.
"I’m sorry!"
Her sudden apology echoed through the quiet corridor.
"I’m sorry for what I did that day. I shouldn’t have tried to steal from you, and I shouldn’t have spoken to you like that afterward."
Her voice became increasingly nervous.
"I know these spirit stones cannot make up for what I did, but they are everything I managed to gather. Please accept them."
He looked at the pouch again.
The spiritual fluctuations coming from within were faint. There were not many spirit stones inside, and their quality was ordinary.
For a young Body Tempering cultivator, however, gathering even this amount was clearly not easy.
"You came here just to apologize?"
The girl nodded quickly.
"Yes."
She hesitated before adding in a small voice, "I’ll change my ways as well, I only ask that you find it in yourself to forgive me."
Lin Xuan regarded her quietly for a moment before asking, "Were the two kids who came to kill me your companions?"
The girl’s body stiffened.
She gulped before answering, "Yes, but I really told them it was a foolish idea to confront you. Their actions against you had nothing to do with me."
Lin Xuan stared at her.
She was clearly frightened, yet she had still managed to come here and admit the truth.
In this world, where strength was might and the strong preyed upon the weak, it was hardly surprising that a group of Body Tempering cultivators would rob ordinary people.
At the end of the day, it was simply a case of bigger fish eating the smaller fish.
That did not make it right, but it was hardly unusual.
Lin Xuan reached out and took the pouch from her hands.
He weighed it briefly in his palm before opening it and checking the contents. The spirit stones inside were meager, and there were not enough of them to amount to anything significant to him.
After playing with it a bit, he tossed the pouch back toward her.
The girl hurriedly caught it and Lin Xuan leaned back slightly and looked at her.
"Keep it and cultivate with it, you have a good Martial Spirit."
The girl blinked in surprise.
Lin Xuan continued calmly, "If you can convince the Su Family to open their Martial Awakening Altar, your future will be set."
The girl’s expression changed.
She stared at him as though she had never expected those words.
"Senior... Is what you said about my Martial Spirit true?"
Lin Xuan gave her a faint smile.
"I know more than you think."
The girl tightened her grip around the pouch.
Her eyes flickered with uncertainty.
"The Su Family’s Martial Awakening Altar..."
She lowered her head, her expression becoming complicated.
"Would they really let someone like me use it?"
Lin Xuan stared at her first a second before replying,"That depends on what you are willing to do."
The girl looked up while Lin Xuan’s expression remained calm.
"You came here because you wanted to change your life. Now you have an opportunity in front of you."
He paused for a moment.
"Whether you can seize it is up to you."
Silence settled over the room.
The girl stood there clutching the pouch, her expression shifting between disbelief and excitement. For several breaths, she seemed unable to find the words to respond.
Then she suddenly bowed deeply.
"Thank you, Senior!"
Her voice trembled with gratitude.
"Thank you! I truly don’t know how to repay you."
She bowed again and again, her previous fear gradually replaced by genuine excitement.
Lin Xuan merely acknowledged her gratitude with a slight nod.
"The Su Family is planning to open their Martial Awakening Altar within the next three days. It is intended for the awakening of a few of their younger children."
The girl’s eyes widened.
"Within three days..."
"Go now," Lin Xuan said calmly. "If you want this opportunity, you should prepare yourself."
The girl immediately nodded.
"Yes, Senior!"
She bowed once more before turning toward the door.
After opening it, she paused briefly and looked back at Lin Xuan.
"Thank you."
Lin Xuan simply waved his hand, and the girl finally left.
The door closed behind her, and the room once again became silent.

The information provided by the system revealed nothing particularly remarkable about the girl.
Lin Xuan glanced at it for a moment before putting the information aside.
With her visitation as proof, he decided to end his investigation for the night and head back to Azure Willow City.
But at the very least, his goal for the Su family were now in order.
"With this, all the chess pieces are in their right places," he muttered.
