The Low-key Evil Wizard BOSS
Chapter 387 - 225: Mastering [Cosmic Fissure]The hunt for the Ancient Gods more than two hundred years ago had caused quite a stir.
However, the failure of the powerful Ancient Gods’ hunt for Zorn had left the Upper Rank God rulers of the Border Region utterly shocked.
The fate of Omen Crow, a 5 Holy Stars Upper Rank God, was an even greater cause for fear.
By now, the Jade Realm seemed to have lost much of its interest in attacking the Calamity Court Realm.
Meanwhile, the two great Divine Kingdoms of Eternal Curtain and Star Remains were only capable of Defense, lacking the strength to counter-attack.
Now that Evil God Zorn was making a comeback, it seemed the rulers of these border Star Realm Districts had no reinforcements to call upon.
「Over the past two hundred years.」
It wasn’t as if the two great Divine Kingdoms of Eternal Curtain and Star Remains hadn’t launched counter-attacks.
Some Divine Spirits had even tried to persuade the border Divine Spirits to join in these counter-attacks.
However, with their powerful Tree of the Magic Ring suppressed, any counter-attack was futile.
To venture into the radiant range of the enemy’s Tree of the Magic Ring was, in all likelihood, a suicide mission.
After a few counter-attacks, the border Divine Spirits could no longer stomach the losses and stopped participating in the offense.
The already-loose alliance instantly fell apart.
A lot had happened in two hundred years.
Now, facing the Evil God’s invasion once more, these border Upper Rank God rulers no longer possessed the same united will to fight a common enemy.
"Your Excellency, Divine Spirit Zorn, this is my most important territory. You and I have no major grievances, so why must you press me so hard on this land?"
While trying to stall Evil God Zorn, Froson was also rapidly contacting numerous other Divine Spirits.
But the more he reached out, the more his heart filled with despair.
The moment those Divine Spirits heard that Evil God Zorn had returned, they would immediately ask about the situation, but none so much as mentioned coming to his aid.
Some even pretended not to have received his messages at all.
"Heh heh... My Tree of Calamity Magic Ring requires many border Worlds to nourish it."
"These Border Regions are perfectly connected to the Void, and this location is easy to defend and hard to attack. Taking it will create the perfect growing environment for the power of my Tree of the Magic Ring."
"If you are willing to leave, I can give you a year to retreat."
"If you aren’t... Heh heh... In a year’s time, this place will become feeding grounds for my Tree of the Magic Ring regardless. Whether you Divine Spirits become part of the nutrients will depend on how fast you can run."
’Making the other party retreat just by talking is far more comfortable than fighting a major battle.’
’Besides, this Void Upper Rank God, Froson, doesn’t seem all that resolute. There’s a good chance I can persuade him to surrender.’
As his voice faded, the aura of a 7 Holy Stars Calamity Rune Magic Ring emerged from Zorn.
It was a terrifying aura of darkness, Death, and endless Calamity, in no way weaker than that of the Upper Rank God Froson.
"Seven Holy Stars."
The Void Upper Rank God Froson’s heart skipped a beat.
More than two hundred years ago, this Divine Spirit Zorn had only been at 4 Holy Stars, but now, he had actually reached 7 Holy Stars.
This rate of growth was completely beyond imagination.
Back then, Evil God Zorn had been able to withstand the combined assault of eighteen Upper Rank Gods when he was only at 4 Holy Stars.
And now, a 7 Holy Stars Evil God Zorn was making a comeback.
Not only was it now basically impossible for them to join forces...
...but even if they did, they might not win.
His expression extremely grim, Froson thought long and hard before finally looking at Evil God Zorn as if he had made a decision.
"Your Excellency Zorn, could you grant me two more years? Three years. Just give me three years, and I, Froson, will withdraw from this place. At that time, you can come and take it."
"Three years is too long."
Zorn shook his head, clearly displeased.
"One year is enough for a retreat. But since you’re willing to leave, I can grant you one extra year. I will come to take this place in two years."
"Two years."
Froson’s eyes narrowed, a strange light glinting within them.
"Two years it is. During this time, I trust Your Excellency Zorn will not interfere with our withdrawal."
Hearing that Froson was willing to retreat, Zorn gave a magnanimous and hearty nod.
"I will certainly not interfere with your withdrawal. However... I will definitely be conducting periodic inspections. If I discover you’re not willing to leave, or worse, are building defensive fortifications in a last-ditch effort to resist, then don’t blame me for being discourteous."
As he spoke, Zorn’s voice turned cold, his words laced with menace.
"Rest assured, Your Excellency. I will not delay."
With that said, Froson directly withdrew his projection.
Not long after, a divine missive from the Divine Ruler spread across the thousands of Material Plane Worlds in his domain.
The world was about to face its doom.
All Believers of the Divine Spirits needed to follow their commands to attain deliverance and salvation.
They were to travel through Plane passages to the Divine Kingdom’s territory and accompany the Divine Spirit to a new World—the Garden of Eden.
Zorn, of course, had no time to spare for the sweeping, tragic sagas of migration unfolding in this Void Star Realm District.
The results of this attempt at persuasion were surprisingly good.
This, naturally, gave Zorn a major confidence boost.
He now launched an extremely aggressive invasion into the fifth, and most important, Cosmic Fissure region.
The "Void Star Realm" of the 9 Holy Stars powerhouse of the Void, Taixing Ancient.
The moment he arrived, Zorn saw several meteors flash across the Star Realm above.
And Zorn’s forceful intrusion was, of course, immediately discovered by Taixing Ancient.
