The Main Character is the Villain

Chapter 258: As Good as It Gets (8)

I spent a night at Emilia's Castle. She gave me the best treatment so I wouldn't feel disappointed. The food, made with potatoes and livestock raised in the Northern Region, had a different flavor from the strongly spiced food of the Southern Region.

She seemed to want me to stay a few more days, but I coldly refused. Dragon Sex was naturally more appealing than goat sex. The coachman also seemed to want to stay a bit longer, but it couldn't be helped. Right before getting into the carriage, Emilia held my hand tightly and spoke.

"You will come again, right?"

"Of course. Emilia. Where would I go, leaving a beautiful woman like you behind? I will visit occasionally."

"Even though I look like this, I'm a woman with a lot of greed. If you don't come, something really... terrible might happen."

"Emilia. I will come to see your face occasionally. Don't worry too much."

"Fufu... That alone is enough. My love."

She smiled meaningfully and kissed me once again. It was another bold expression of affection in a crowded place. Was this woman planning to spread rumors throughout the Northern Region that we were lovers? I stroked the scruff of her neck, savoring Emilia's lips one more time. She licked her lips and pulled away from me. The lingering regret was still evident on her face, but as if to prove the position of Grand Duke of the North wasn't won by luck, she obediently let me go.

The road heading toward the mountain range after leaving the Grand Duke's Castle. The coachman drove the horses casually despite my order to head to the mountains. With the complete destruction of the Ain, who had been the greatest threat beyond the mountain range, the area had become akin to a treasure warehouse. The coachman looked at the edge of the mountain range, where the glaciers hadn't yet fully melted, and spoke.

"Everyone changes. Whether they want to or not. What matters is the turning point. A turning point capable of igniting one's life."

"Did you also have such a turning point, My Lord?"

"A turning point, you ask?"

"People say that originally, you were not as... free-spirited as you are now, My Lord. They said you were very... religious and good-natured. Of course, I'm not saying you are bad now, My Lord."

"Ah, I know what you mean."

Peta Lucius's personality had changed when I entered his body. However, those words alone couldn't explain many things. Thinking objectively, I wasn't that cruel of a person in my past life. Perhaps I just never had the time to bring out my cruel nature. Because my younger sister was sick, I had to juggle several part-time jobs at once to pay for her medicine.

I reduced my sleep to work part-time jobs, and my younger sister always told me she was sorry. After all, I was the only one who could take care of her. She would always blame herself, saying things wouldn't have been this way if she weren't around. I just lived my life like that.

"If we could ever meet again..."

"Pardon?"

"It's nothing. Keep driving. Coachman. We were talking about a turning point, right?"

"Yes. We were."

"There was indeed a turning point. There is definitely a turning point that made me the person I am today. But, isn't everyone in the world like that? People easily remember the occasion they turn over a new leaf, but they have no self-awareness of the exact point when they turn evil. You can see clothes drying, but you hardly notice them getting soaked in a light drizzle."

Was something influencing my mind? The me in my memories was a good person. That should have definitely been the case. The feeling that I had forgotten something continued to make my heart uncomfortable. It was strange. My recollections were accurate, but something was off. I took care of my younger sister while working three part-time jobs, and this world was a game I used to play. Before I came here, I was a good person.

"Usually, it's easier to find out about those turning points by asking someone else."

It meant I had one more thing to ask Ati when I met her this time. Wouldn't she be able to uncover the Oath of Meiga that had been placed on me, or the past I couldn't remember? The carriage we were riding in was speeding toward the Northern Mountains.

The entrance to the mountain path in the north was blocked by the strict guard of the soldiers. I handed them the pass I received from Emilia. One of the soldiers recognized me from my participation in the Ain Expedition and asked for a handshake. I reached out outside the window, gave him a handshake, and asked.

"Has there been anything unusual around here lately?"

"No. Nothing unusual. Ever since you, Sir Priest, annihilated all the Ain, not a single hair of any strange bastards has been seen around here. Haha. Well, it's fine for you to enter, but please be careful of the wild animals roaming around."

"I understand. Thank you for your worry."

The soldiers let us pass without issue. We trudged up the mountain path. The horses weren't used to the mountain path, so their footsteps were a bit slow, but there was no problem with moving itself. The coachman, seemingly finding it fascinating to go up the Dragon Mountains in a carriage, asked me.

"My Lord. By the way, do we really have to go all the way up here in a carriage? Just what is up here..."

"What else would be in the Dragon Mountains? There are dragons, of course."

I scoured the surroundings of the mountain range and directed our path. As I recalled from before, Deorgon's Lair was near the Ain's settlement. I didn't know the way to Ati's Lair, so I had no choice but to meet with Deorgon once again. Since I had already successfully finished the once-in-a-1,000-years Dragon Sex, wouldn't there be no risk of my rear being taken or having to have sex again if I went now? I had the Teleport Carriage anyway, so if the mood seemed strange, I could just escape.

And so we headed to the pit where the Ain had been. In that land where the Ain once lived, nothing remained now. I briefly glanced at the basin full of only dirt and ash, then ordered the coachman to head deeper into the mountains.

"You mean deeper? Aigo, My Lord. Are we really going to meet a dragon?"

"Probably? And Coachman. Our carriage can teleport, you know. What are you so afraid of?"

"That is true. I was getting scared over nothing."

Only then did the coachman relax and drive the carriage again. Just as I said, as long as we could teleport, there was nothing for us to fear. In a mountain range without the Ain, the most we could face were the cold, hunger, and wild animals. None of these posed a threat to us.

I took out the jerky stashed in the backseat, gave one to the coachman, and chewed on one myself while observing the surroundings again. Even though we circled the basin where the Ain had lived, there was nowhere that particularly gave off the feeling of being Deorgon's Lair.

"Ah, should we turn back."

How many hours had we wandered? The sun was slowly setting. We still had plenty of time to search, so should we turn back at this point? The coachman put on his coat and agreed with my opinion.

"I think that would be best. Don't we have to stay in the Northern Region for a few more days anyway? It might be better to search slowly."

One day at the castle in the north. Two days to get to the entrance of the mountain range here. Having consumed three days like that, I had to spend about another week to use the Carriage of Alio Festa again. Rather than spending that week miserably chewing on jerky in the mountains, it might be better to take our time and scout at our leisure.

I also agreed with that thought and nodded my head. Time wasn't a pressing issue anyway.

"Shall we head back then?"

"Ah, yes. Then I'll turn the horses... Whoa, what's wrong with these guys?"

The horses suddenly started to run wild. I felt the body hair all over me stand on end. The coachman was frantic trying to suppress the horses that were suddenly neighing in chaotic confusion. An intense aura was pouring in from all directions. A murderous intent that felt like dozens of blades had reached right in front of my nose. I knew the identity of this intimidating pressure.

"I wondered who it was."

A massive man shoved his face in past the carriage window. What the? Just when did he arrive? I didn't even have time to sense his presence. He stood there holding onto the carriage as naturally as the blowing wind. Muscles that filled his whole body without a single weak point and burning eyes. And a naked body that seemed to have lost all human shame.

"It's Small Genitals."

It was Deorgon. He referred to me as Ati's pet and looked at me with an arrogant gaze. The coachman seemed completely frozen stiff at the sudden appearance of the naked man. He trembled as he sent me a look seeking an answer. I smiled and nodded my head. The coachman covered his mouth, his face turning deathly pale.

"What is that guy? A tribute to offer me?"

"Heueek!"

The coachman let out a bizarre scream at those words and fainted. I shook my head and spoke.

"Those horses are the tribute, and the coachman is my loyal subordinate."

Since I had to cater to his mood for now, I decided to consider the horses I brought today as a gift. I could buy horses anytime, but my life was precious. Deorgon stroked the horses one by one, then nodded his head and spoke.

"Hmm. They look decent. Then..."

And then he bit into a horse's scruff of the neck out of nowhere, tearing off a chunk of flesh in one breath. The horse screamed and died instantly, while the remaining one ran wild like crazy while still tied to the reins. However, because Deorgon was holding onto the carriage, there was no chance of the carriage departing. I carefully got out of the carriage and lowered my posture in front of him.

"A-Are they to your liking?"

Deorgon chewed the horse's flesh like gum and nodded his head. Looking at his facial expression, he really seemed to like it. He killed the remaining horse by simply piercing it with a poke of his finger, then asked me.

"I like it. Your genitals are small, but your heart is commendable. To offer a tribute like this to the one you should impress the most. I should send the remaining one to Ati as a gift. So, what is it that you want that brought you here today?"

"I want to go to Lady Ati's Lair. Well... because there is a matter I'd like to seek Lady Ati's help with..."

"I see. Small Genitals. By the way, how is my newly cultivated body? For the dragon sexual intercourse that is now 999 years away, I have honed and polished my genitals even further."

He was thrusting his blatantly swinging genitals at me. Rather than genitals, it had the heavy and disgusting shape of an elephant's leg. Fuck, he intended to use this on Ati? This beast had to be killed as quickly as possible.

"It's incredibly magnificent! Lord Deorgon!"

But more than anything, one's life was the most important. For now, I decided to praise Deorgon's cock.

"Fufu, of course. Small Genitals."

"It is truly a 'dragon penis'."

"..."

"...I apologize."

"I shall forgive you. For I am a generous dragon."

I thought this bastard would like it if I just attached 'dragon' to anything, but that didn't seem to be the case.
