The Martial Doctor

Chapter 541 - 453: Luu Wan’s Probe

"Atang, aren’t you busy? There are so many guests tonight, the kitchen is short-handed. Go and help out!"

"Mrs Wan, there’s something off about you!" Qingtang circled around Luu Wan with a curious expression.

"Mrs Wan, are you in love? Recently, you’ve been all anxious and flustered, just like someone with a crush..."

"Go, mind your own business! You should be more concerned about your father. Be careful that your Aunt Lanya doesn’t give you a little brother."

"Having a little brother would be great! Then I wouldn’t have to go to great lengths to inherit the title of Marquis of Wuan. And when I get married, I won’t have to worry about my dad growing old alone. Plus, the Qing Family will have someone to carry on the name..." Qingtang counted on her fingers.

"Indeed, a grown woman can’t be kept in the house. Look at you, not even married yet and already shirking responsibility. Your brother-in-law truly dotes on you for nothing!"

"I’m just stating the truth. Mrs Wan, you’re almost forty, right? Better find a man quick. I heard if a woman doesn’t find someone by forty, she’ll be lonely for the rest of her life..."

"I’m only thirty-eight, still far from forty!" Luu Wan glared at Qingtang, "Get to work or I’ll smack your butt!"

"Alright, you’re the master, I’ll listen to you. But truly, you’ve been quite hot-tempered lately. Honestly, take my advice, find a man to vent your frustration!"

"You brat! Where did you learn such dirty talk? Watch me not spank you!"

After speaking, Qingtang didn’t give Luu Wan a chance. She opened the door and slipped away.

Luu Wan’s face was covered with Disguise Skill, or else it would surely have been alternating between red and white. Living nearly forty years, she was unexpectedly lectured by a girl not yet twenty. She really didn’t know where to hide her face.

That lass, so disrespectful, she herself hasn’t gotten anywhere yet and she’s already worrying about her.

To be honest, Luu Wan wasn’t without admirers; her standards were just high. Over these years, only a few people caught her eye.

But those people had many admirers themselves, no less than this little entrepreneur. She couldn’t possibly share a man with other women.

In this, she agreed with Qingtang’s perspective.

Some matters couldn’t be delayed any longer, they had to be done. She originally thought of waiting longer, but Luu Wan realized if she waited any longer, it might be too late.

...

Da-da!

Tonight, Lin Miao went out and wasn’t at the residence. Sun Youwei, like usual, after dinner returned to her room. If there were any classes.

Then she would only return after finishing the classes.

Even though she was engaged to Lin Miao, they weren’t married yet, and hence couldn’t sleep in the same room. Their most intimate contact usually just involved hugging and, at most, a kiss.

Even with the kisses, she was cautious not to indulge too much as she feared she couldn’t hold back. After all, Lin Miao wasn’t just her fiancé, he was the one who gave her a new lease on life.

She harbored familial affection, love, and gratitude toward Lin Miao.

Nowadays she’s very accustomed to being by his side. This peaceful and secure feeling is precisely what she’s always wanted.

Sun Youwei is very satisfied with her current life; her health has improved, she can do things she enjoys, and has a man who loves her dearly. Although he’s a bit of a flirt, his merits outweigh his faults. Sometimes, one must not be too greedy.

If you don’t learn to compromise, you’ll lose everything. As things stand, she still remains a cherished treasure in Lin Miao’s eyes.

The household also revolves around her; the more you strive for, the more you lose.

Of course, switching to another man might not yield the same results, but Lin Miao is different. He’s a flirt yet nostalgic, at least he doesn’t abandon the old for the new.

When a man has skills, as long as he’s not too unattractive, he’ll naturally attract outstanding women. If he desires, there’s no stopping it.

Only loving one person for a lifetime only exists in storybooks.

"Is it Jade Pearl? Come in."

"It’s me, Youwei." A familiar voice sounded outside, clearly not Jade Pearl but another person.

"Mrs Luu, what brings you here today?" Sun Youwei exclaimed, getting up to open the door and seeing Luu Wan standing there holding a bowl of food.

"Young Lady, actually I asked Jade Pearl to let me come." Luu Wan entered with the bowl, "This is Wonton I made, Young Lady, give it a taste."

"Alright, leave it over there. I’ll eat it in a bit." Sun Youwei nodded; the habit of eating late-night snacks was cultivated by Lin Miao.

Initially, her family’s conditions didn’t allow for nightly snacks, but Sun Youwei’s health indeed required nutritional supplementation.

Thanks to Lin Miao’s consistent nourishment, Sun Youwei’s health improved rapidly.

But now, unless she’s staying up late, too hungry to sleep, she’d eat something simple. She used to be too thin, and now she feels a bit too fleshy.

Although Lin Miao never minded, as the feeling of a chubby girl is just the best, especially someone like Sun Youwei who couldn’t really be considered fat.

Hence, she barely touches late-night snacks now.

Only, Luu Wan isn’t very involved with the household affairs, so she’s still unaware.

"Young Lady, these wontons should be eaten hot; they’ll taste bad when they’re cold." Luu Wan reminded.

"I got it, Mrs Luu. If there’s nothing else, you can go rest first. I’ll have Jade Pearl tidy things up." Sun Youwei instructed.

"Young Lady, I always thought you resembled an old acquaintance of mine. In her youth, she looked just like you."
