The Martial Unity

In the distance, the Divine Mother floated in the emptiness of space.

No longer as empty as before, of course.

RUMBLE

Space and time still shook. The smoldering plasma, quickly cooling into gas, liquid, and rock, still glowed with heat minutes after the supernova.

The entire star system was still shaking.

Still lit up from the bright light of the supernova.

It was like she was in a universe that was bright by nature instead of dark.

"Huff... Huff..." The Divine Mother breathed coarsely, sustaining herself with her still-active Webverse.

FSSS...

Smoke emerged from her body.

Her regal golden fur was vaporized.

Her flesh smoked and smoldered, blackened with the burns.

She was in pain.

The solar flares combined with the supernova were so intense that she couldn't have defended against them while also crushing the star enough to create a supernova. Especially when her opponent was using his Martialverse to inflict as much damage upon her as he possibly could. Had he been a little stronger, or had she been a little weaker, she wasn't certain that she would have come out of this alive.

She knew that when she deactivated the power and disconnected from the Meta Web, she would fade out of existence.

"But. I. Have. Won."

She spoke in her own tongue, in the language of the homoarachnoids, with a triumphant tone of voice. She sensed the absence of his Martialverse the moment the black hole had formed. That told her everything that she needed to.

Black holes, ones that were sufficiently large and powerful, could kill Administrators. The singularity at the very epicenter of a black hole was a point where time ended and where all the laws of physics as they understood it ceased to exist.

It was a point of infinite density.

The sheer amount of divergence from reality it would take to survive that was so high that even Administrators avoided it like the plague. It was among the very handful of natural phenomena that could kill them, after all.

Creating it hadn't been easy, either. She had needed to truly exert her Webverse to cause the supernova to lead to a black hole. A red dwarf star was otherwise too small to possibly lead to the birth of a black hole upon its death.

Ultimately, the effort had been worth it.

"What a pitiful end for the great Emperor of Water."

She couldn't help but sneer.

She knew that he was likely the only Administrator in human civilization, based on the memories that she had skimmed through in Ria's mind and those of the others. That meant that the civilization had lost its most powerful defender and protector.

And, she had gotten rid of the biggest obstacle between her and her desired target.

She shifted her attention away from the black hole and towards the edge of the star system where the Blood Arc was, redirecting her Webverse away from the newly-formed black hole and towards the fleeing fleet carrier.

And that was the final mistake she made.

SPLAT

Her six eyes widened as a flash of piercing pain coursed through the homoarachnoid's body. It incepted from a point in her back, passing through her body, and ending at the other side at the corresponding point on her torso.

She slowly looked down, her expression crumpling with shock as she saw a hand.

A human hand.

A translucent human hand.

Chills crawled across her skin as a single remark rang in her ears.

"It's over."

Pain, unlike anything she had ever experienced in her life, coursed through her body as Rui poured copious amounts of the Tide of Samsara into her body. His antithesis cells ran amok within her body, guiding the Anicca Current through her body as it wreaked chaos and death within her body.

Her pincers began clashing against each other furiously as her body began writhing in pain. Her arms, her hands, her fingers, her insectile legs began splasming out as the most powerful poison ever created in the history of human civilization flooded through her body with unstoppable force.

She gritted her teeth, leveraging her internal fascia connective tissue to try to slow the poison down. Her fascial tissue, like all homoarachnoids, was made by the webs produced by her body. It wasn't merely connective; it was a living organ that could perform all kinds of functions.

And yet, if it had been merely the Anicca Current, she might have been able to squeeze it out of her body.

But she wasn't just dealing with a dumb poison.

She was dealing with a poison that had a mind. The antithesis cells that Rui had injected in her body began to adaptively evolve to the general biochemistry of the homoarachnoid physiology. Their blue blood that used copper instead of iron to carry oxygen. The unique traits of their biochemistry. The vulnerabilities of their biology.

They were quick and fast.

And this time, they had the full support of their principal.

Rui's voice was filled with a fierce intensity as he activated Prophecy of the Void, using not just the information that he had gathered, but also information from the information dimension to help the adaptively evolving cells within his body to adaptively evolve more perfectly.

It allowed him to sabotage her biochemistry enough to allow the Anicca Current to flow.

The Divine Mother gritted her teeth as her six eyes flared with a deathly determination. "If you think... I'm dying here... then you have underestimated me!"

She deployed the full power of the Webverse to maintain the web of life. After all, that was all that life was to her.

A web.

A web of energy, matter, and information.

She forcefully overcame the laws of reality, using her Webverse to maintain her life even as the poison ate at her web of life.

And yet, that was a game that two could play.

"Less for more," Rui whispered as he deployed his Martialverse with one and only one goal.

Disrupting her web of life.

"Death is water."

An enlightenment that he had attained many, many years ago now came to his aid as he leveraged his enlightenment to bring about greater death within her body. He specifically used the Martialverse to squeeze the maximum possible effect that he could, using it to allow the matter and energy of her body to flow away from life, allowing the Anicca Current of the Samsara Tide to flow faster and better, completely unfettered.
