God's Hammer, to this day, remained the most powerful combat asset of the Bournvyrne Empire. It was a mech that was crafted from the best materials and technologies by the best dwarves of the Bournvyrne Empire, and Dwight had been among the chief architects of the project.
Now that he had become a Transcendent, he felt like it was a deeply limited product. He could easily enhance its combat prowess by at least an order of magnitude, perhaps even more, given that he could create whatever Transcendent-grade esoteric substance that he wanted within his Creationverse.
He intended to turn God's Hammer into a Transcendent-grade combat asset. He was confident that he could accomplish it even with his current skills. Though, even if God's Hammer was upgraded to a Transcendent-grade esoteric substance, he wasn't sure if it could defeat a Martial Transcendent like the Emperor of Water.
The man was more powerful than Dwight could have imagined. He had only finally gotten a measure for the Emperor's power after he had become a Transcendent himself, and only then had he realized how outclassed he was as a pathwalker.
Even if God's Hammer didn't match the Emperor of Water, he was confident he could get it to match the next most powerful combat assets of human civilization, the other Transcendent notwithstanding. He was thinking about Jormungandr and the Suneater, both of whom possessed battle power beyond fathoming, even if they couldn't warp reality. He was certain that God's Hammer could not only match, but even surpass them.
And it would benefit human civilization tremendously to gain another such combat asset. It was too much to rely on two Transcendents alone for combat. God's Hammer would greatly alleviate the pressure on them. He didn't know if the mech would be able to fight a Divine Mother, but he had to do his best nonetheless.
"As much as I look forward to your renovation of God's Hammer, I believe there is a project that is more pressing than that at the moment," Emperor Ranoua declared with wisdom in his aged voice. "A project that must succeed more than anything else."
The Transcendent Craftsman was surprised to hear that from the Emperor. He knew that the Emperor held God's Hammer as extremely important. What could possibly make even the Emperor regard another project as more important?
"You don't know because you're not part of the Central Human Command, but we have received intelligence that the arakai are planning on invading our civilization in nine days," the Emperor informed him with a serious tone. "The CHC has formed an interception operation known as Operation Lightfury that makes use of one of our proprietary high technologies."
Dwight hadn't been informed of any of this, so his surprise was understandable. However, the CHC operated on a strict need-to-know basis to minimize the odds of information leaks. The only reason that the Emperor had known about the operation was that the CHC required him to provide the device in question and trained operators for the operation.
"Which technology does this operation make use of?" Dwight frowned.
"Photonic phase induction technology. They intend to use it in conjunction with the Boundless Light to inflict great damage on the enemy warfleet as soon as it enters human civilization."
"Hmmm, I see. I never thought of that synergy," Dwight murmured thoughtfully, understanding the plan with just that description alone. "In that case, the Catalyzer machine will be of great importance. I understand, you want me to upgrade this machine with my Transcendent power before the operation."
"While minimizing complications," Emperor Ranoua added. "Can you do that?"
"I certainly can. Ten days ordinarily would be impossible. There is no way you can possibly upgrade high technology that soon under normal circumstances, but now that I have become a Transcendent, I should be able to upgrade the general quality of the machine," the dwarf remarked. "However, if you want a design-level upgrade, that will take too long."
"Time, we have," the Emperor remarked. "Human civilization has recently acquired two manifold trees. One the elves seemed to have mysteriously acquired. The Norwana Clan administers it in the Norwana Evergreen Forest within East Genora. The Kandrian Empire recently managed to get its hands on a second manifold tree."
"What?!" Dwight's eyes widened with surprise. "Where did human civilization get two manifold trees all of a sudden?"
"According to our intelligence sources, it was most likely procured by the same company that managed to find two infected worlds over the span of ten days or so," Emperor Ranoua spoke with a serious expression. "EsoQuest Solutions, they are called. Nobody knows anything real about this company. They popped out of nowhere in the past three months and now appear to have found a method to detect and find infected worlds spontaneously."
Dwight's expression grew stunned at those words. He had been so busy creating the Armor of Flowing Wisdom for the Emperor of Water that he had been buried in his work, completely disconnected from the news that had rocked human civilization.
If human civilization had suddenly gotten its hands on two more manifold trees, then there was no question that he would have the space to conduct more systematic upgrades of the catalyzer machine, but…
Dwight shook his head. "We should stick with general upgrades. A systematic upgrade would require far too much testing, debugging, and other such processes. And not all of these can be done within the manifold. We usually do these outside the manifold because the manifold is a very limiting environment."
"Hmm… in that case, it may be better for general upgrades. Whatever it is, make sure you complete it in a few days. CHC requires them very soon."
"Understood, Your Majesty. I will be sure to do that."
Dwight immediately departed from the throne room with a determined expression. Now that he had become a Transcendent, he was very eager to contribute his power to human civilization. He would be lying if he didn't admire how the Emperor of Water had used his power to save human civilization time and time again. He couldn't even imagine how gratifying that felt. Now it was his turn.
