The overwhelming divine power Willow felt from the figures made her head spin, sharp buzzing incessantly ringing through her head.
What she encountered wasn't just on the level of a mere demigod, or even a complete divinity like her father. It was deeper—something comparable to Willow herself.
She thought for a second that perhaps Darian had been a complete god all this time.
‘No, no, that can't be right.’
Willow, still in a complex state of mind, tried to figure out who the owner of the divine power she felt was.
With Thanatos and the former Neltarid both dead, the only complete gods remaining were Goddess Freyja, Willow, and the current Neltarid Mk II she was familiar with. The fake goddess that had emerged from the bubble world was just a being forged from dimensional power, different from those on Willow’s level.
As she stood there stunned, a voice snapped her out of her contemplation, calling out, “Sister.”
She was in the company of pure white beings. Though their features weren’t visible, their voices were distinct.
Only once the voice shocked her out of her stupor did she gather herself and notice the surrounding scenery. It was a rather interesting space.
She found herself in a giant circular world, divided into four domains. The domains were a world full of flowers; a burning world; a world that had become a desolate wasteland; and a world which was completely frozen over. The borders between each region were surprisingly distinct.
“Who... what are you guys?”
She had no clue why there were so many beings inside Darian.
Owing to her power as a goddess, Willow had eyes that could see more things than Davey, as well as clearer than he ever could. She was able to clearly see that the beings she was looking at weren't souls, but something else entirely.
Last of all, she realized that the divine power before her held a trace of the original Neltarid’s strength.
“Did the former Neltarid implant you inside the system before their death?” Willow asked, her face full of caution.
She figured that the being her father met in the virtual world must have been one of the mysterious figures surrounding her. While she didn't know who they were, they didn't seem hostile to her—for the time being.
Just then, a being in the form of a pure white girl approached and embraced her, saying, “Sister, it's nice to meet you.”
It was a beautiful, clear voice.
Willow was taken aback. “Who are you calling your sister? Who are you, exactly...”
All of them, including the girl, spoke at once to say, “You already know who we are.”
It created an eerie sense as if the entire surroundings echoed with their words.
“We're Darian's, or rather, your younger brother’s potentials.”
“Potentials...?”
“We're the countless intermediate points and final destinations where the main body can arrive given enough time, depending on fate. We are his strength, as well as his shackles.”
* * *
Willow couldn't help but be shocked. Yet even so, her mind immediately shifted into analysis mode.
‘So that alien feeling Darian has occasionally given off was all because of these guys.’
The beings she’d met weren't just simple potentials or talents. They were deeper and heavier at their core while holding a greater, stronger influence than that.
“Naturally, we don't have a will of our own. We're all singular potential Darians, and we interfere with each other, regardless of who's who. Conflicting potentials thus collide, disappear, and evolve anew.”
The former Neltarid had implanted wills into the potentials, lighting a different fire in that chaos. Frankly, such a thing was far more shocking than whatever the hell else they had done.
“No way. This isn't just on the level of talent...” Willow still had a hard time wrapping her head around it.
Their existence clearly wasn't an illusion. They were Darian’s potentials. From what Willow could tell, they were hidden powers that completely resonated with Darian.
‘Now that I think about it, the Darian in the bubble world used a modified version of Dad’s spell.’
Even though that Darian had cast it in an unstable world, there was no denying that it was an ultra-high-level sorcery capable of nearly collapsing an entire dimension with a single use. Its true origins lay with Davey, inseparable from his teachings.
Everything the future Darian achieved was somehow manifesting in the past as potentials. If the potentials before her gradually began to influence him and imbue him with their power...
“Haaah.”
It would mean her monstrous little brother could become as strong as her father—or even surpass him—without ever needing to train.
She wryly muttered to herself, “How in the world does that even make sense?”
Davey O'Rowane.
Although he’d gone through innumerable twists and turns over the course of his... lives, he was the one who had put the former Neltarid, Destruction, and even Thanatos to eternal rest.
Even the supremely powerful Davey that raised her had spent nearly a thousand years training himself, overcome countless life-or-death crises, and reached his present level only after paying a cost that even Goddess Freyja was stunned by.
‘Yeah... Now that I think about it, reaching his level might be a bit tough for Darian regardless of whatever potentials.’
The potential she saw before her undoubtedly entailed immense power. Yet, something in their core was missing. It was something she couldn’t exactly pinpoint at that moment.
Once her contemplation reached that point, Willow had another thought.
‘Just as expected of the boy I can call my little brother...’
She felt an uncontainable sense of pride! There was plentiful admiration for her brother!
No matter what, he was an amazing little brother.
“Hehe... Hehehehe...” Willow let out a foolish little laugh without realizing it, then quickly covered her mouth and looked around, belatedly recalling the company she was in the midst of.
“Ummmm. Sister?” the same elegant white being called out.
Willow took a moment to compose herself before coughing, “Ahem. Ahem!”
‘Right. That's not the important thing.’
“I get the gist,” she began, “But there's something else I need to confirm. What... what exactly have you guys done?”
She remembered the Darian that her father mentioned, the one shrouded in black flame. She figured he might be a similar case as the figures in front of her.
- Teehee... You geezer!! Die!!
That was what the brat had said to Davey.
None of the beings with her at that moment seemed to have that kind of personality, but she absolutely had to confirm the uneasy hypothesis forming in her mind.

Willow didn't have much time that she could endure investigating inside Darian’s consciousness. Having forcibly opened a door that should never have seen any other soul enter, she sank to the floor, her face tired.
“It’s like he’s filled with the seven deadly sins. That one must have been Pride.” She had become too complacent.
His potential was so intense that it could turn him into an absolute being without any training. However, that wasn't entirely a good thing. The karma the potentials held was extremely deep, and he would surely go through a lot in the process of assimilating them. Pride and Wrath, especially.
Willow was finally starting to understand the whole situation.
Having emerged and caught her breath, she slowly got up and went to find Davey, who was likely still racking his head worrying about the possibly necessary sealing of Darian.
She had to let him know what a terrible mistake it would be to go through with sealing Darian. She could only hope she wouldn't be too late.
“Dad!!”
Thud!!
She flung the door open and found everyone gathered together discussing the family matter.
Off to one side, Kouna was holding a bright orb nearly the size of her entire body in her arms.
Once inside, Willow immediately interrupted and shouted, “Absolutely not!”
Davey was stunned to see her so worked up out of nowhere. “What are you talking about, Willow?”
“Sealing him! You absolutely cannot seal him!!”
She began to reveal the truth that no one else could perceive, bearing witness and revealing that which only a complete goddess like herself could discover.
* * *
No one besides Willow could fully see or sense Darian's potential. While Neltarid Mk II might theoretically be able to, his senses and abilities were lower than hers.
Of course, that was beside the point.
“So... a massive amount of potential is dormant inside Darian’s inner self, and the former Neltarid committed to dealing with the problematic ones among them.”
“Yes. The beings Neltarid entrusted the mission to are moving to completely wipe out the extremely wicked potentials, like the seven deadly sins. The Darian you met was probably Pride.”
Davey nodded at the conclusion. “I see. That would make sense. After all, there's no way Darian would ever dare to call me an old geezer and tell me to die...”
Willow was moved by the sight of her father trusting her without an ounce of doubt, even though the facts themselves were bewildering.
Davey still found the motives questionable, however. “But was it really necessary for Neltarid to create this kind of situation? Pride almost destroyed one of the bubble worlds, and the banished Wrath is now affecting Earth as well.”
“Actually, I brought that up to the other potentials. They told me that they each have their own different limits. Pride and Wrath are no exception. Well, to be precise, Pride isn't as serious of a problem to deal with, but a potential with overwhelming power like Wrath can harm Darian if left alone. While yes, they're part of Darian's power, they're also like pairs of shackles holding him back.”
Willow sighed before continuing, “There's one that must be dealt with, even if it means throwing away all the potentials.”
“Dealt with? Which one?” Davey wasn't quite sure what she was implying.
“Doomsday,” she said with a shudder. “It's the cruelest and darkest potential Darian possesses. It’s a potential on a level that could erase that same world you only barely just protected. If we don't stop it before it grows even more powerful, Darian will be heavily swept away and influenced by its potential.”
The air in the room turned cold.
“According to the beings who explained everything to me, the potential that can suppress Doomsday is currently extremely weakened. I don't know the reason, but Doomsday has become overwhelmingly strong. Balance was meant to be maintained between the two strongest potentials, and with that delicate balance disrupted, Darian's future has turned dark.”
“The only chance to change fate...” Davey muttered, beginning to understand the gravity of the situation.
