Before, any talk of wiping out the Florist Family’s stronghold would have been a joke.
You’d make the threat now and worry about carrying it out later.
After all, every Witch Hunter Family was incredibly powerful and influential, with close ties to one another. Attacking any one of them meant risking encirclement by other families rushing to their aid.
What’s more, their opponents had government support. High-tier Wizards were a minority; most Low-tier Wizards were still threatened by firearms. It was safe to say that if they initiated a war against a Witch Hunter Family, even if the Dawn Council went all out like the Florist Family had, they would still be at a total disadvantage.
But now that Sean had the Eleanor Sisters, things were different.
With Robert dead and the Florist Family’s forces in the New World wiped out, their remaining castle was like an abandoned city on an isolated island. It was short on Guards and had no hope of reinforcements. This was the perfect opportunity to strike them while they were down and reclaim all the resources and wealth those Witch Hunters had squeezed out of everyone over the years.
In fact, Sean almost hoped other families would get involved.
He’d kill them all together.
It couldn’t be helped. He had a pair of Grand Mage Maids, after all.
When you have the bigger fist, you can afford to be confident.
"So, does that mean... we can do whatever we want now?" Yisha asked, blinking as she looked toward Eleanor and Elise. They were the only two Grand Mages in this world; who could possibly stop them?
WHAP! Sean smacked Yisha on the head, making the girl cry out in pain.
"Ow! Teacher, what was that for...?"
"To teach you a lesson. Don’t get any funny ideas," Sean said.
There’s a difference between taking out the Florist Family and "doing whatever we want."
Why did he always insist on killing them all, leaving no one alive?
Not wanting to let an enemy escape to become a future threat was only one reason.
The more important reason was to silence all witnesses.
If Yisha had ever been to the New World, she would never have said something as naive as "doing whatever we want."
It was true that the Farm World currently had only two Grand Mages, Eleanor and Elise. The New World, however, was a different story, filled with people far more powerful than the sisters. Both worlds were under the control of the Church Court. If the Church Court discovered Grand Mages in the Farm World, they would absolutely dispatch higher-Tier Witch Hunters to hunt them. Not only would Sean and his group suffer, but Olivia might be dragged down with them. Therefore, they had to make sure that no one outside their group knew the Eleanor Sisters’ true Tier.
Sean didn’t understand why the Church Court hadn’t stationed a Grand Mage to watch over the Farm World, but that didn’t matter. Their job was to remember this "unspoken rule": hide the sisters’ Tier, feign weakness to crush their enemies, and quietly make a fortune.
Once they were strong enough, they would give the Church Court a big surprise.
Sopea mused, "In that case, should we bring more people with us to Florist Castle?"
According to Sean, it was best if the Eleanor Sisters didn’t get involved. And in truth, with Robert and three thousand elite Witch Hunters gone, the Florist Family wasn’t strong enough to warrant their intervention. The combined forces of the two Wizard Organizations—the Long Night Union and the Dawn Council—would be more than enough to steamroll the remaining underlings.
In this counterattack, the Eleanor Sisters’ main purpose wasn’t to fight on the front lines. It was to give everyone the confidence to take the fight to a Witch Hunter Family, while also serving as insurance against any unexpected problems.
Sean thought for a moment, then nodded. "Alright."
’We should bring more people.’
After taking Florist Castle, they would have to haul back the spoils. All the valuable items had to be brought back.
The Florist Family had operated in the Farm World for many years; they were bound to have plenty of good stuff, and Sean didn’t intend to leave a single thing behind.
"So it’s decided then?" Elise said. "I’ll go ask for Mr. Adelf’s approval."
Sean replied, "Good. Have them find a place to gather and wait for us. We’ll head over as soon as we’ve dealt with the Witch Hunters here."
There was no need for any pre-battle preparations.
They had to get there as quickly as possible, before news of Robert and his men being annihilated could reach the castle, and catch the remaining Witch Hunters completely by surprise.
This was "despise the enemy strategically, but take them seriously tactically."
「And so.」
After breakfast, Elise called Adelf.
Normally, as long as you didn’t cross the Dawn Council’s lines, Chairman Adelf was quite easy to talk to.
Although he had recently been "tricked" by Sean into making a trip for nothing, Adelf wasn’t angry. He had never been fully convinced that the Holy Sanctuary still existed in the first place. Deep down, he hoped he could find it, but if it truly couldn’t be found, then so be it. It’s not like he could expect Sean to conjure one out of thin air on the spot.
That’s not to say he wasn’t a little annoyed with Sean.
He had an incredible amount of work to deal with every day. Back then, Alola Town had been holding its Day of Abstinence festival, and the trip caused him to miss several competitions where he was supposed to personally present the awards.
But to blame Sean for it...
...that would be going too far.
It was nice to get out and about for a change of scenery. He just chalked it up to a trip to World’s End with a group of youngsters.
Now, hearing Elise’s proposal to go to Florist Castle, Adelf thought it over for a moment after she explained the reasons, then quickly agreed. Following Sean’s earlier warning, Elise didn’t mention they had Grand Mages on their side. However, Adelf had no trouble believing that Robert and over a thousand Witch Hunters had died at World’s End.
