The Most Arbitrary Wizard

Chapter 328 - 160: "Great Again!

"So what?"

"Four years ago, we made Siracle State prosper! We made our lives happy and secure! Four years later, why can’t we do it again?"

"My friends."

"I ask you to believe in me, and to believe in yourselves—"

"To hell with political persecution!"

"No hardship, no suffering can stop us from marching forward!"

"I—all of us—we have gathered here today for a common purpose, and we will defend our position with that same unwavering resolve! Do you remember those words from four years ago?"

"We will work without rest, day and night! We will fight with all our might, holding nothing back!"

"We swear in the name of the Master—"

"We will give our all to make Siracle State great again! To make the people of Siracle State great again!"

As the background music swelled to a crescendo, the veins on Pulente’s neck bulged, and he screamed his slogan at the top of his lungs.

"Make Siracle State great again!"

"And make the people of Siracle State great again!!"

The crowd instantly erupted, their passion ignited, all of them chanting "great" along with Pulente.

Elise and Eleanor exchanged a look.

’This guy... He’s actually got some skills, huh?’

He was so passionate he’d given them goosebumps.

Seeing the crowd below shouting in excitement, Pulente knew he’d sealed the deal.

Today’s speech had been a roaring success.

’So,’ he began to wonder, ’what should I have for dinner tonight?’

Until the very next second.

"Prepare to engage," Elise warned.

Through the scope, Yisha already had Pulente’s head in her sights, her finger resting on the trigger.

At the same time, however, someone in the crowd carrying a basket beat her to it, hurling an egg at Pulente.

Elise and Eleanor immediately sensed something was wrong.

A surge of killing intent had appeared in their Spiritual Domain.

Yisha was too far away, so it couldn’t be her.

This killing intent could only be coming from someone in the crowd.

’Damn it, the egg!’

Elise snapped to her senses and, without hesitation, recited a Spell, conjuring an invisible wall on the stage.

’Pulente is the Master’s target. Only we are allowed to kill him, no one else!’

The egg hit the wall and exploded with a BOOM, bursting into a ball of fire.

"Holy shit!"

"That’s a fucking bomb, not an egg!"

The crowd, shocked and furious, screamed and scattered while shouting at the bodyguards, "Get that son of a bitch!"

The scene instantly descended into chaos.

Just then, another loud gunshot rang out.

Pulente: "Fuck!"

He had actually sensed the danger when the man threw the egg at him moments ago.

Or rather, he had guessed he might face an assassination attempt today.

The higher the stakes, the simpler and more brutal the methods tend to be.

Especially with the Florist Family gone, all the families controlling the neighboring states would want to make a move.

Pulente had considered many possibilities.

He just never expected these bastards to arrange two assassination attempts on him in a single day.

’These bastards!’

And so, Pulente was furious.

The bullet’s trajectory, nearly invisible to the naked eye, was now perfectly clear in his vision, as if the world were playing in slow motion.

The heavy, metallic glint of the Armor-Piercing Bullet grew larger and larger in his pupils. Just as it was about to strike his head, a faint golden light suddenly glowed in the palm of his dangling right hand, forming a counter-clockwise rotating ring.

Pulente’s movement was minuscule. His right hand was even hidden from view by the lectern, but it still couldn’t escape the Eleanor Sisters’ spiritual perception.

The two sisters’ eyes flew wide in shock. "A Truth Technique?!"

’How could this Governor of Teronsu possibly know a Truth Technique?!’

’It’s over.’

Elise knew they wouldn’t be able to kill Pulente today.

This man knew a Truth Technique, and Sean wouldn’t let them engage directly. A mere sniper rifle would never be able to hurt him.

However, something happened that Elise and Eleanor expected even less.

Pulente didn’t dodge.

He was hit.

The sheer force of the bullet sent him flying.

"AH!"

With a pained scream, Pulente fell to the ground, blood gushing from his right ear so fast he couldn’t stanch it.

The bodyguards’ faces went pale. They rushed forward and piled on top of Pulente to shield him from a follow-up shot.

But Pulente struggled desperately to stand. The bodyguards were too strong, however, and he couldn’t get up. So he settled for the next best thing: stubbornly and bravely, he raised a hand and cried out once more:

"My friends, no hardship, no suffering can stop us from marching forward!"

"We will make Siracle State great again!!"
