The Nameless Extra: I Proofread This World
Chapter 313: Full Recall Protocol[Ruvian’s POV]
Seeing Julian take a potion, Ruvian also pulled out a revitalisation potion that he had stolen from one of the scholars, and quickly drank it.
Immediately, the potion’s effects course through his body as some of the exhaustion weighing on him gradually receded.
[We got the necklace. So what’s next?]
"Since we have the necklace with us... it should be fine now. We can end this fight here—" (+10,000PP)
Hearing the notification, Ruvian suddenly felt cold, and before he could finish his sentence, something unsettling happened in the distance.
Julian abruptly stopped moving. A moment later, the sword in his hand slipped from his grasp and struck the ground with a dull clang.
Ruvian’s eyes widened slightly.
For some reason, a grim premonition immediately crawled into the back of his mind.
Even Morvayne had fallen eerily silent.
Neither of them could understand what Julian was doing.
At first, his body merely swayed from side to side, his movements erratic and unsteady, almost as though he were drunk. He took a few uneven steps forward before suddenly staggering to the side.
Ruvian narrowed his eyes.
In the next moment, Julian froze; his body going completely rigid as though every muscle within him had suddenly seized at once.
Ruvian’s grip around [The Endseeker] instinctively tightened.
’Morvayne...’
[Yes...]
Her unusually wary response only made the unease in Ruvian’s chest deepen.
’I think we got it wrong...’
Ruvian’s eyes slowly narrowed as a disturbing possibility began taking shape in his mind; it seemed like the Amaranth Seal was not the true trigger that allowed the demon to seize control of Julian’s body.
It was the potion Julian had taken.
But that only raised another question.
Ruvian had already inspected the potion earlier through [Bookmarks], and there had been nothing suspicious about it. As far as the skill had shown him, it was nothing more than an ordinary strengthening potion.
So how had something hidden within it managed to evade his [Bookmarks] inspection?
’Unless... there’s something [Bookmarks] can’t detect? Or was it only present in trace amounts?’
Ruvian frowned deeply.
For several seconds, Julian simply remained there with his head lowered, completely unresponsive.
But a moment later, a dark crimson aura laced with an ominous purple sheen began leaking from his body, slowly writhing around him like a mass of festering darkness.
The sight was deeply harrowing!
Ruvian immediately sensed a change in Julian’s aura, becoming ever more... malevolent and portentous.
The demon slowly moved his fingers, inspecting his body in eerie silence before his crimson eyes swept across the surrounding area with a baleful calm.
Then, his lips slowly curled upward before a low, sinister laugh escaped his throat.
"Ah, delightful... it appears everything proceeded as expected."
His gaze then shifted toward Ruvian, and the smile on Julian’s face widened slightly, revealing something distinctly more sinistrous than Julian’s usual arrogance.
"Hmm? Ah, you must be the human Alfred and that boy mentioned."
Ruvian’s expression immediately stiffened.
The moment that name left Julian’s mouth, several thoughts flashed through his mind, but before he could make sense of any of them, the demon’s grin stretched wider.
"Oh, that’s a wonderful expression you have... lost, mortified and terrified. Don’t fret, human. Such a pitiful reaction is only natural when faced with my power. Though regrettably... this is merely a fraction of it."
The laughter grew louder, almost gleeful in its malice.
Without another word, his body slowly lifted from the ground, rising several feet into the air as a crushing flood of Dark Mana suddenly erupted from within him.
The massive outpouring crashed against the mana in the surroundings, causing both forces to writhe and clash until the very air began to ripple and distort under the crushing force.
Above him, the sky gradually sank into darkness before bleeding into a deep crimson hue. Even the clouds had begun to twist and spiral toward a single point.
Watching the gruesome natural phenomenon unfold before him, Ruvian’s dark cloak whipped violently against his body as the torrential pressure continued to intensify.
Even from several meters away, the mana pressing against his skin felt so heavy that even drawing breath began to feel laborious...
’This amount of Dark Mana... he released all of this by himself?’
Ruvian gritted his teeth. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing — such power was ridiculous, yet still, he understood it well...
...That this was the strength of a Primordial Supreme Demon.
[What are you planning now, Child?]
For a moment, Ruvian remained silent as he looked at the necklace in his hand.
He slowly took a step back.
"I’m... trying to think of one."
Honestly, the real problem now was no longer just the Primordial Demon, but also... the grim reality that Julian Rozenberg was now destined to die by the Chancellor’s hand.

Across the island, countless scholars slowly raised their heads toward the sky, their previous conversations dying away one after another.
The crimson-tinted clouds above had begun twisting unnaturally, as faint flashes of lightning crawled through the darkness.
More disturbing than the sight itself was the strange energy lingering in the air, oppressive enough that even those with poor Mana Sensitivity could tell that something was terribly wrong.
Ever since the news had spread that Julian Rozenberg had joined the bounty hunt against Ruvian Castelor, most scholars had already stopped whatever they were doing.
Things had only become more intriguing when Lady Calyra suddenly appeared and began fighting beside Ruvian, turning what should have been a simple bounty hunt into one of the largest confrontations of the entire examination. (+5,000PP)
Because of that, scholars from nearly every corner of the island had gathered around their bracelets, watching the battle through the 2D-live display instead of continuing to hunt for points.
But now, none of that mattered anymore.
One by one, the scholars lowered their bracelets and stared toward the sky instead, their brows furrowing as that disturbing pressure continued spreading across the island.
Something about it made their bodies tense instinctively.
"Is it just me, or did the atmosphere suddenly become much scarier?"
"No, I feel it too..."
"Just what the hell is going on?"
A sudden gust tore violently through the forest, forcing several scholars to shield their faces as leaves and loose branches were ripped into the air.
"What the hell is happening over there?" someone whispered, his fingers tightening around his weapon as another flash of purplish lightning illuminated the darkened sky.
Then, without warning, every bracelet across the island released the same sharp beep.
The displays immediately turned crimson red, replacing the bounty information and live battle feed with a single flashing message.
Several scholars froze the instant they read it.
[PROTOCOL: FULL RECALL]

[Ophelia’s POV]
The violent wind billowed Ophelia’s violet cloak fiercely as she stood high above in the sky — under [Concealment] — overlooking the island below.
As usual, she had come to observe the fight herself. At first, it had been rather intriguing, especially seeing how Ruvian managed to hold his own against Julian, but the longer she watched... the more something about the battle began to feel profoundly wrong.
More specifically, it was the strange energy emanating from the scholar named Loden and the academy’s top scholar, Julian.
Ophelia’s eyes narrowed slightly.
She had already suspected that both of them might somehow be connected to demons, perhaps even demons masquerading as her scholars. After all, the unnatural energy seeping from them was far too aberrant to simply dismiss as some obscure form of magic.
Still, without anything concrete, she had chosen to remain patient and continue observing from afar.
Then, as the fight progressed, her suspicions were finally vindicated.
The moment that overwhelming Dark Mana erupted from Julian’s body, there was no longer any room for doubt.
’Looks like a demon has finally revealed itself.’
She sighed begrudgingly.
A second later, a communication spell suddenly flared beside her ear.
"Chancellor, w-we have a problem, the mana readings surrounding the island have suddenly reached a dangerous level, and they’re still rising!"
The voice from the control room sounded strained, with several people shouting faintly in the background.
"We still can’t identify the exact source, but the readings are strongest near the center of the island, and the mana density is escalating far too quickly."
A brief crackle ran through the communication spell before the man continued, his breathing noticeably heavier.
"If... if this continues, the scholars remaining on the island will be in grave danger."
Ophelia remained silent for several seconds as her gaze slowly lifted toward the sky. Pale lightning had begun flickering within the dark clouds above the island, briefly illuminating the crimson-tinted skies before vanishing once more.
She, too, could feel it clearly.
The mana permeating the island had become unnaturally dense, and worse, it was still rising with no sign of stopping.
Allowing the examination to continue under such conditions would only place the scholars in needless peril.
The test was important, but the lives of the scholars had always taken precedence over everything else. Ophelia’s expression hardened as she finally made her decision.
"Activate Protocol Full Recall — we end the examination here and now."
Her voice remained cold and perfectly composed as she gave the order.
"Inform every instructor and staff member on the island to retrieve all remaining scholars and return them to the Leviathan with immediate effect, no exceptions."
For a moment, silence came from the other side before the man finally answered.
"Understood, Chancellor. W–we will activate the protocol immediately and begin the full evacuation."
He hesitated briefly before adding:
"Is there anything else you would like us to do?"
Ophelia did not answer at once, her attention returning toward the battlefield below as Julian’s body slowly began levitating from the ground.
A second later, a massive bolt of ominous crimson-purple lightning suddenly tore through the air and came barreling straight toward her.
Even so, she merely raised one hand and casually flicked it aside, instantly nullifying the attack as sparks of that violent energy scattered harmlessly through the air.
Her eyes narrowed slightly as she finally spoke, her voice carrying a cold authority.
"Yes, I do. Inform Instructor Arveth that I have already found the source of this disturbance, and that I am placing the entire evacuation operation under his authority."
Her violet eyes gradually shone.
"As for the disturbance, I will take care of it."
