The One King

After another month of traveling and cultivation, Azrael, Gaya, and Olivia finally reached the borders of the Kingdom of Light.

During that month, their strength had changed considerably.

After spending the System Coins he had accumulated during the first month of their journey, Azrael spent the following month hunting beasts and gathering more System Coins. Once he had accumulated enough, he spent nearly all of them on cultivation resources.

After making some inquiries, Azrael learned that the caravan was heading toward Varan Duchy, one of the four great duchies of the Kingdom of Light.

The Varan Family was one of the most powerful ducal families in the kingdom. Even Duke Varan himself was a powerful Ascendant Immortal.

Azrael decided to use the caravan to enter the heart of the kingdom. After paying an appropriate fee, he, Gaya, and Olivia joined the caravan.

The city where Azrael had used the Great Destruction Finger was no longer a city.

Nothing remained except a massive, scorched crater stretching across the entire area where the city had once stood—a terrifying testament to the destructive power that had annihilated it.

Two days after Azrael left the city, several powerful beings arrived.

For some unknown reason, a massive battle broke out between them and the survivors in the area.

Two weeks later, Azrael, Gaya, and Olivia finally arrived at Radiance City, the main city of Varan Duchy.

As soon as they entered the city, Azrael wasted no time.

He headed directly to a branch of the Infinite Races Guild.

There, he sold some of the beast cores he had obtained from beasts in the Spiritual King Realm, receiving a considerable amount of money in return.

His objective was simple.

He needed to purchase a suitable residence.

After searching for a while, Azrael chose a magnificent mansion located on the outskirts of Radiance City, away from the bustle of the city center.

After purchasing the mansion, he went to a clothing store and bought new clothes for himself and Gaya before returning to the mansion.

However, Azrael did not stop there.

He still lacked a great deal of information about this world—the Kingdom of Light, its factions, its powerful cultivators, and its laws.

Therefore, after finishing his shopping, he headed directly toward the public library of Radiance City.

This time, his objective was clear:

Gather as much information as possible about the world in which his true journey had now begun.
