Azrael remained standing like an immovable mountain, silently watching the servant writhe helplessly in his grasp until his body finally turned to ash and was carried away by the wind.
Several moments passed, yet no one dared to speak.
Then Azrael slowly raised his head toward the sky.
A terrifying roar erupted from his throat, even more frightening than the one before.
His voice thundered throughout the city:
“And you who dared to trample upon the pride of this great one, I will hunt you down. And when I find you, I will make you wish you had never been born.”
His voice reverberated throughout Moonfall City, then swept beyond its walls, covering several kilometers before finally fading away.
The entire city fell silent for several moments.
Then the people, cultivators, and even the beasts within the city began wondering about that terrifying voice and who could possibly have produced it.
But before they could reach any conclusion—
Another roar erupted.
It was even more terrifying than the previous one.
The sound waves swept across the city and beyond its walls, causing the surrounding buildings to tremble.
Inside the Foyd Family estate, several faint-hearted servants immediately collapsed unconscious.
Even the stronger ones turned pale, feeling as though the blood in their veins had frozen beneath the terrifying pressure radiating from Azrael.
Even the air itself seemed to grow heavier.
Meanwhile, Azrael's appearance had undergone a drastic transformation during his fit of rage.
The right half of his face remained unchanged, retaining his handsome features.
But the left half had transformed into absolute darkness.
Its features were no longer clearly visible, with only his left eye remaining exposed.
The white of his eye had turned completely black, while his pupil glowed with a deep, ominous crimson light.
He no longer looked like a handsome young man.
Instead, he resembled an entity that had emerged from the deepest abyss of existence.
When Duke Valer approached Azrael and saw the transformation of his face, his expression immediately paled, and he instinctively took a step backward.
For the first time, even a cultivator at the peak of the Immortal Ascension Realm felt a genuine sense of danger from the young man standing before him.
Gaya, however, did not retreat.
Although she had never witnessed this transformation before, she knew that Azrael's anger was not directed at them.
Therefore, she felt no fear.
She stepped forward and gently placed her hand against his chest.
“Calm down a little.”
Her voice was soft.
A moment later, someone else stepped forward.
It was Lilian.
She gently placed her hand on Azrael's shoulder.
For some reason, she felt an inexplicable sadness upon seeing him in such a state of rage.
She could not bear to see him like this.
Neither woman said anything else.
They simply remained beside him.
After several moments, the overwhelming pressure surrounding Azrael gradually began to recede.
Like the tide withdrawing from the shore, his terrifying aura slowly diminished until it disappeared completely.
The darkness covering half of his face faded as well.
His eye returned to normal.
And once again, Azrael looked like the calm and handsome young man they had known.
When Lilian saw that his anger had finally subsided, she immediately said:
“We should remove the dagger from your chest and treat the wound.”
Azrael gave Gaya a long look.
Then he turned his gaze toward Lilian.
Without saying a word, he reached for the dagger embedded in his chest.
His fingers wrapped around the hilt.
Then he pulled it out.
When Lilian saw Azrael remove the dagger without warning, she instinctively tried to stop him.
But it was already too late.
The dagger was already in Azrael's hand.
He carefully examined it.
A dagger capable of penetrating his defenses was certainly no ordinary weapon.
Azrael turned the dagger over in his hand, examining its blade and structure.
There was something unusual about it.
He was about to inspect it more closely when he suddenly felt a small hand tugging at his upper robe.
The movement brought him back to reality.
Azrael lowered his gaze.
It was Lilian.
She was trying to remove his robe.
Azrael immediately tried to stop her.
“The wound is small. It has already healed.”
But Lilian did not listen.
“I want to see it myself.”
Azrael stared at her for several moments.
Then he sighed.
There was no point arguing with her.
He removed his robe.
The moment his upper body was revealed, the atmosphere in the hall changed.
Azrael's physique was nearly perfect.
His muscular body was the result of countless years of cultivation and an extraordinary foundation. Every muscle was clearly defined without appearing excessive.
The faces of nearly every woman in the hall immediately turned crimson.
Selina quickly lowered her gaze.
Gaya's expression also changed slightly.
But Lilian paid no attention to any of them.
Her eyes were completely fixed on Azrael's left chest.
There was a birthmark there.
A small crimson skull.
The moment Lilian saw the mark—
Her entire being trembled.
Her heart shook violently.
Something deep within her mind suddenly awakened.
Memories.
Old memories.
Painful memories that had been buried for many years.
Fragments began surfacing in her mind one after another.
A distant past.
A sorrow she had thought she had buried forever.
Her breathing became unsteady.
Her eyes trembled as she continued staring at the small crimson skull.
Then tears slowly began flowing down her cheeks.
She knew exactly why she was crying.
That mark was not an ordinary birthmark.
It was connected to a past she had buried deep within her heart for many years—a past she had believed she would never have to face again.
But now...
That mark was before her eyes once more.
And Lilian could no longer stop her tears from falling.
