The One King

Chapter 51: The Birth of the Unknown Bloodline

Azrael gritted his teeth as he continued dodging the Emperor Ape’s relentless attacks.

“System... purchase the bloodline.”

The response came immediately, cold and emotionless.

[The host does not possess enough System Coins.]

Azrael nearly stumbled from shock.

“What?!”

The Emperor Ape’s fist exploded against the ground behind him. Azrael barely avoided the impact, and the resulting shockwave swept through the forest, crushing hundreds of trees.

Azrael clenched his teeth.

“How much does it cost?”

[The Primordial Abyssal Dragon Ancestor Bloodline costs one hundred billion System Coins.]

Azrael’s expression froze.

“One... hundred billion?”

For a moment, he nearly coughed up blood from sheer disbelief.

He possessed only a limited number of System Coins, yet the bloodline before him cost a fortune far beyond anything he had accumulated since awakening.

The Emperor Ape roared:

“Human! Don’t you dare get distracted while fighting me!”

Its enormous fist came crashing down again.

Azrael raised his axe and blocked the attack, but his body was forced backward dozens of meters, carving a deep trench into the ground.

He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and looked toward the System.

“Is there another way to obtain it?”

“Because the System was created by the host’s first incarnation, the host possesses a special authority.”

Azrael’s eyes narrowed.

“What is it?”

“A loan.”

Azrael fell silent.

Then a cold smile appeared on his face.

“Explain.”

“The System can grant the host a loan of one hundred billion System Coins. The debt will be recorded and may be repaid in the future.”

The hesitation disappeared from Azrael’s expression.

“Agreed.”

But the System had not finished.

[Warning.]

Azrael’s expression became serious again.

“What is it?”

“Upon accepting the bloodline, a permanent fusion will occur.”

“Explain.”

“The host’s current human bloodline will merge with the host’s innate Darkness Divinity, as well as the Primordial Abyssal Dragon Ancestor Bloodline.”

Azrael’s eyes narrowed further.

“And the result?”

“Unknown.”

Silence filled the battlefield.

The System continued:

“A new bloodline will be created—one that has never existed in any recorded history.”

“Furthermore, the host’s current human soul will transform into a new soul compatible with the newly formed bloodline.”

The System paused before delivering its final warning.

[The transformation is permanent and irreversible.]

Azrael did not hesitate.

“Proceed.”

He had never felt attached to his human bloodline.

If anything, there was something dark within him toward it.

The humans he had encountered throughout his life were the very ones who had caused him the greatest suffering.

He saw no reason to preserve that bloodline.

Coldly, he said:

“Begin.”

The next instant, a notification appeared before his eyes.

[Loan approved.]

[100,000,000,000 System Coins have been issued.]

[Primordial Abyssal Dragon Ancestor Bloodline purchased.]

[Bloodline fusion has begun.]

Azrael’s movements stopped.

Even the Emperor Ape sensed that something abnormal was happening.

A drop of blood appeared before Azrael.

But it was no ordinary drop of blood.

It was a deep purple, almost black, and within it lay an unfathomable darkness, as though something existed inside that the creatures of this world were never meant to see.

The instant it appeared—

the color of the sky changed.

The sun disappeared behind layers of black clouds.

Then—

BOOOOM!

A terrifying aura erupted from that single drop.

It was not merely an aura of power.

It was an aura of existence.

An aura that made the laws of the world tremble.

Far away in the Ten Thousand Beast Mountains, beasts suddenly stopped moving.

Cultivators raised their heads.

Even some of the Beast Emperors watching the battle from afar felt a chill run through their souls.

Then something even stranger happened.

They all began moving.

One after another.

Beast after beast.

Human after human.

Cultivators of different realms began rushing toward the source of the aura as though an invisible force were pulling their souls toward it.

They did not understand why.

They did not know what awaited them.

Yet they could not resist.

The Emperor Ape, however, remained where it stood.

It stared at the drop of blood and felt something it had not experienced in thousands of years.

Fear.

“What... is that thing?”

Azrael did not answer.

He extended his hand and caught the drop of blood between his fingers.

The moment it touched his hand—

the world trembled.

Then Azrael raised his hand and swallowed it.

Silence.

Nothing happened at first.

Then—

Azrael’s eyes widened.

BOOM!

A wave of black-and-purple energy erupted from his body.

The ground beneath him collapsed.

Space cracked.

Rocks rose into the air.

Even the Emperor Ape felt its instincts screaming at it to flee.

“No...”

Its fear turned into fury.

“I won’t let you finish that!”

The Emperor Ape charged forward with everything it had.

Its enormous body tore through the sky, its long tail ripping through the air as its fist gathered enough power to crush Azrael in a single blow.

It drew closer.

Five hundred meters.

Three hundred.

Two hundred.

Then—

when it was only one hundred meters away from Azrael...

something within the world seemed to stop.

Azrael slowly raised his head.

His eyes were different.

Then he opened his mouth.

A roar emerged from his throat.

It was no longer human.

ROOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAR!

It was not merely a sound.

It was an announcement.

An announcement of the birth of something new.

The entire Ten Thousand Beast Mountains trembled.

Mountains cracked.

Rocks exploded.

Countless beasts fled in terror.

Birds froze in the sky, and some fell from the heavens beneath the overwhelming pressure.

The cultivators who had rushed toward the source of the aura collapsed to their knees.

Even the Emperor Ape—

a powerful existence at the fourth level of Divine Ascension—

froze in midair.

Its knees slowly bent.

Not because it chose to kneel.

But because its soul itself instinctively commanded it to submit.

It felt as though a higher existence had descended upon the mortal world.

An existence beyond its ability to comprehend.

“Impossible...”

Its voice trembled.

But Azrael could not hear it.

His consciousness was sinking into an endless darkness.

Within that darkness, he could no longer feel his body as he once had.

He heard something.

A heartbeat.

One beat...

Then another.

As though a new heart had begun beating deep within his existence.

Outside, the black-and-purple darkness continued pouring from Azrael’s body.

It wrapped around him.

Layer after layer.

Until an enormous cocoon completely surrounded his body.

The Emperor Ape stood before it, completely unable to move.

The cultivators who had reached the area did not dare approach.

They could only stare at the cocoon in silence.

No one knew what would emerge from it.

Not even Azrael himself.

Deep within the cocoon...

the new heartbeat continued.

Boom...

Boom...

Boom...

With every beat, the sky grew darker.

As though the world itself...

was waiting for the birth of something it had never known before.
