The One King

Chapter 88: The Three Fronts

The sky could no longer withstand the power of the battle.

Above the battlefield...

Five Divine Ascenders were facing one another.

Leon.

Andor.

Sylvus.

Teresa.

And Azrael.

The clouds had long since been shattered, and space itself had begun to crack beneath the force of their clashes.

Every time the powers of the Divine Ascenders collided, shockwaves spread across vast distances, causing the earth below to tremble.

But this battle...

Was only one of the fronts of the war.

For in the northern, southern, and eastern continents...

The armies were already engaged in battle.

Icy winds swept across the northern plains.

But the pure white snow was no longer clean.

It had been stained with blood everywhere.

The war between the Council Army and the isolated Barbarian Tribe had turned into a massive battle.

And at the heart of this war...

There was a terrifying army.

Seven hundred thousand beasts.

The Council Army advanced across the plains like an endless black sea.

Beasts of all kinds and sizes charged forward.

Giant wolf-like beasts.

Massive bears.

Winged beasts.

Reptilian beasts.

And enormous creatures, some of which exceeded dozens of meters in size.

These beasts collided with the warriors of the Barbarian Tribe.

BOOOOOOM!

The earth exploded.

A massive beast charged toward a group of Barbarians, but a giant warrior leaped into the air and brought his axe down upon its head.

BOOM!

The beast's head was crushed.

In the next moment...

Three more beasts pounced upon him.

The battle erupted once again.

Everywhere...

Barbarians and beasts were falling.

The two armies were engaged in a fierce war, and neither side was willing to retreat.

Atop a distant mountain...

A massive man stood.

His body was covered in ancient scars.

His long hair moved with the wind.

As for his eyes...

They carried the majesty of a beast that had lived since an ancient era.

He was...

The Great Barbarian King.

The ruler of the isolated Barbarian Tribe.

An ancient beast standing at the peak of the Divine Ascension Realm.

He silently watched the battlefield.

One of the Barbarian generals approached him, his body covered in blood.

He said:

"Great King."

The king did not turn around.

"Speak."

The general said:

"The eastern front is still holding, but our casualties are increasing."

The Great Barbarian King remained silent.

Then he looked toward the hundreds of thousands of beasts.

"And them?"

The general answered:

"Their losses are greater."

Silence fell.

Then the Great Barbarian King said:

"Then continue."

He raised his eyes.

"Until the last beast falls."

The general bowed.

"Yes, Great King."

Then he returned to the battlefield.

In the next moment...

The cries of the Barbarians rose once again.

And they charged toward the Council Army once more.

The southern desert had been transformed into hell.

The sky was covered in black clouds.

Lightning struck the earth continuously.

KRAAAAAK!

Storms swept across the battlefield.

In the middle of the desert...

The Army of Lightning and Storms was engaged in a fierce war against the bandits.

There were no longer any clear front lines.

Soldiers fought among the ruins.

The sand was soaked in blood.

The battle had been raging for a long time, and neither side showed any intention of retreating.

Inside the bandits' stronghold...

Their leader stood atop one of the towers.

He was a man possessing terrifying power.

A Divine Ascender at the seventh stage.

He looked down at the battlefield.

His forces were fighting with everything they had.

One of his men approached him.

"Our leader."

Without turning around, he said:

"Speak."

"The left flank is about to collapse."

He remained silent for a moment.

Then he said:

"Send the men from the central flank."

"But they are already fighting!"

The leader turned toward him.

"Then make them fight faster."

The man hesitated for a moment.

Then bowed.

"Yes, leader."

He turned and left.

The bandit leader returned his gaze to the battlefield.

At that moment...

Lightning struck the ground in front of the stronghold.

BOOOOOOM!

The walls trembled.

The leader raised his hand.

His aura swept across the entire area.

Then he said:

"Continue fighting."

A terrifying energy began gathering around his body.

"As long as I have not fallen..."

The storm above him intensified.

"This stronghold will not fall."

His army charged forward once again.

As for the eastern continent...

The war there was even bloodier.

The sea that had once been blue...

Had become red with blood.

Massive patches of blood stretched across the surface of the ocean.

The corpses of Council soldiers and sea creatures floated among the waves.

But the battle did not stop.

The Council Army, clad in ice armor, continued its assault.

Opposing them...

The three Sea Tribes fought with all their strength.

The Black Shark Tribe.

The Ancient Squid Tribe.

The Leviathan Tribe.

Above the sea...

Ice techniques rained down like a storm.

Massive pillars of ice stretched across the ocean.

But from beneath them...

The water exploded.

BOOOOOOM!

A gigantic sea beast emerged from the depths and crashed into one of the Council Army's formations.

Elsewhere...

Dozens of tentacles surged from the sea.

They seized Council soldiers and dragged them into the depths.

But a wave of ice swept across the area.

The tentacles froze.

Then shattered.

Neither side stopped.

Whenever one group fell...

Another advanced.

The sea itself was becoming a graveyard.

Deep beneath the ocean...

Representatives of the three tribes gathered.

One of the leaders of the Black Shark Tribe said:

"We have lost many warriors."

The representative of the Ancient Squid Tribe answered:

"So have they."

The Leviathan leader raised his head.

"And yet..."

Silence fell.

"They are advancing."

No one answered.

Then the Leviathan leader slammed his fist down.

BOOM!

The entire palace trembled.

He said in a deep voice:

"Then we will stop their advance."

The Black Shark leader looked at him.

"How?"

The Leviathan smiled.

"By drowning them."

In the next moment...

The sea trembled once again.

Giant sea beasts began emerging from the depths.

The war was still raging.

And the blood was still staining the ocean.

Meanwhile...

The Sacred Knights of the Council were fighting their own battles across the western continent.

Different armies were clashing in numerous regions.

Cities were burning.

The lands were turning into battlefields.

There was no longer any place that could be described as safe.

The war had already spread across most of the world.

But amid all of this...

There was one battle that surpassed all the others.

A battle above the sky.

BOOOOOOOOOOOM!

The five forces collided once again.

The four figures were forced backward.

Leon.

Andor.

Teresa.

And Sylvus.

Blood covered their bodies.

Their breathing had become heavier than before.

But none of them retreated.

As for Azrael...

He was still standing.

His armor bore the marks of battle.

A small wound stretched across his arm.

But his expression had not changed.

He raised the Axe of Destruction.

Red lightning ignited around him.

Black-purple Dragon Flames spread behind him.

Leon looked at Azrael.

Then tightened his grip around his sword.

An immense amount of Heavenly Energy surged around his body.

At the same moment...

Andor moved.

Teresa.

And Sylvus.

They exchanged no words.

They did not need to.

They had fought together for long enough to understand each other's movements.

Leon advanced from the front.

Andor charged from the right.

Teresa moved from the left.

As for Sylvus...

He remained behind Azrael.

Heavenly seals began forming around him.

Azrael remained in the center.

He watched all of them.

Then...

The corner of his mouth lifted slightly.

He raised his axe.

KRAAAAAAK!

Red lightning ignited across the sky.

The Dragon Flames behind him erupted with even greater intensity.

Then he said in a low voice:

"Come."

In the next moment...

The four charged simultaneously.

Azrael charged toward them.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

The five forces collided.

The entire sky trembled.

A massive shockwave spread across the continent.

And across the three other continents...

The wars continued without pause.

In the north...

The Barbarians continued fighting seven hundred thousand beasts.

In the south...

The bandits continued resisting the Army of Lightning and Storms.

And in the east...

The sea remained red with blood as the three Sea Tribes continued their war against the Council Army clad in ice armor.

Above the battlefield...

The level of the battle rose once again.

And Azrael's power...

Still concealed countless secrets.
