It's hard to imagine, if Rao Linger hadn't told Tang Rao about this, the leaders emerging from the subsequent monster tide would become increasingly powerful. To what extent they would grow strong, only when he's at death's door will he know.
"I'll distract the third wave; as for the fourth wave, I don't have the confidence. It will be up to you all."
Granny Hua, Wu Suowei, these people are already like gods in Tang Rao's eyes. If even they can't take down those two demon beast leaders, then regardless of Tang Rao's skills, there would be no room for maneuver.
"No problem, send us the location, and we'll head over immediately."
The group split into four teams. Just as Tang Rao grabbed his gear and was about to set off, Rao Linger lightly tugged on Tang Rao's sleeve, "Take me with you. I'm a magic beast trainer; I might just save your life in a critical moment."
Tang Rao had no idea what leverage a magic beast trainer had since he had never heard of such a profession. But once he understood the greatness of this profession, he realized how many would envy a magic beast trainer.
"You? Forget it. Since you came from Central Island to North Island looking for death, it doesn't matter if you do it this time!"
The implication was that there was no objection to Rao Linger tagging along with Tang Rao.
"I must tell you, this is the most correct decision you'll ever make in your life."
Tang Rao roughly calculated his lifetime to be just over 30 years so far; life is long. How could she know this was the most correct decision ever made in life?
Tang Rao was dismissive inwardly, when in fact, he had already despised Rao Linger a hundred times over in his mind.
Geng Bucuo and Cha Xiangzi went separately into the first and second waves of the monster tide to make waves. The demons that arrived initially were nearly blown to pieces by Tang Rao. Their wave-making didn't last long, as they had targeted the leaders in advance. After clearing a path through the low-level demons, they quickly captured the two leaders. With a swift strike, the leaders were quickly killed. Once they died, the other demons seemed to lose their focus and immediately lowered their flags.
"Lao Geng, I've finished on my side. How about you?"
Cha Xiangzi waved the heads of two demon beasts in front of Geng Bucuo, boasting, while Geng Bucuo had just done the same.
"Are you trying to show off or what? Look, what's this?"
Geng Bucuo also had two heads in his hand. Two teams were already completed; surely, the remaining two teams would accomplish it just as easily?
Geng Bucuo and the others placed their hopes on Tang Rao's team. In their eyes, since they could handle things with ease, Tang Rao's team, being stronger, would solve it even quicker.
The third wave's leaders were both in the late stage of being deity level; Tang Rao was also in the late stage.
Among these two late-stage deity level leaders, Tang Rao could handle one. However, based on the depth of the other, he wasn't sure if he could make it through.
"Ignorant human, the entire Divine Realm belongs to us beast clan, including you. You can only be our beast clan's servant. Now you have a chance: choose to be our servant or die; the choice is yours."
Since both leaders had their identities exposed by Tang Rao, they didn't hide it and laid their cards down with Tang Rao, stating their intentions directly.
"Haha, you beast clan?"
Tang Rao looked mockingly at these two hideous creatures, neither human nor ghost, slithering across the ground. He didn't understand who had given them such courage.
"What are you beasts anyway? Just you things neither human nor ghost—I'm going to kill and cook you for soup. Let's see where your arrogance comes from now!"
Compared with these arrogant beast clan members, Tang Rao's level of arrogance was about the same; who could blame whom?
"I didn't expect to encounter such a hard nut like you on my first visit to North Island. In a moment, you, little boy, will know what our beast clan is capable of!"
The beast clan's prowess?
Tang Rao didn't care about that. What he cared about was when these demons mentioned their first time coming to North Island—this proved these beasts weren't local to North Island.
Where did they come from? Such a large-scale migration, how could a single transmission array suffice?
A single teleportation array wouldn't be enough.
"Ah, so friends from afar."
As he spoke, Tang Rao was still tapping his foot. Before he finished his words, he landed a left hook on a leader.
Thanks to Tang Rao's convincing expressions, and perhaps because these beasts looked more hideous and fierce, their brains hadn't fully developed. So Tang Rao's seemingly simple attack caught them off guard.
The male's jaw was immediately dislocated by Tang Rao. Even if their brains weren't developed, they were quite sensitive to pain.
The male got hit, and the female was furious, roaring as she pounced on Tang Rao, wishing to tear him to shreds to avenge her mate.
"You sly kid."
Compared to the bulky demon beast, Tang Rao didn't even know which way to dodge when she charged at him.
"No poison, no great man; you mindless extraterrestrial species simply don't understand."
Even when tackled down by the drooling, foul-smelling demon beast, he was desperate enough. If he didn't rile up the Mother Demon a bit, he couldn't balance his inner frustration.
The Mother Demon being provoked was one thing, but the key was that the Male Demon quickly recovered after a brief recovery, ready to join in for the next round of battle.
"Roar roar roar!"
"Awwooo!"
The two demon beasts stopped using the Divine Realm's language for communication; Tang Rao couldn't understand their howling sounds.
"They said they'll have the female distract you while he looks for an opportunity to ambush you from behind."
So despicable.
Rao Linger immediately understood Tang Rao didn't comprehend their words when she noticed his face wasn't looking good.
"Want to ambush me, huh? Come on, here's my back, try ambushing me. I'll fry you a fish in my palm if you succeed!"
Tang Rao's words were full of confidence. Once he exposed their scheme, they exchanged a glance, an instance of panic flashing in their eyes.
"He can actually understand us."
Rao Linger continued to transmit words to Tang Rao using telepathic communication, and Tang Rao shot the demon beasts down once again with his words.
Since Tang Rao could understand their language, there wasn't anything left to hide. They thought it through but couldn't think of any word or technique to curse Tang Rao. At this point, aside from a violent resolution, they couldn't think of any better method to make Tang Rao admit his guilt.
It was two against one, and with so many small demon beasts causing disturbances in between, Tang Rao's vision was repeatedly obstructed.
