Fang Fang is relieved?
Which mother truly lets go when she says she has?
Her son's facial expression had long revealed everything; Tang Rao was lying, even if it was truly Tang Rao's request to regain his memories, it must have been Tang Lei who told Tang Rao about the secret technique to restore memory.
A man like him, whose curiosity is stronger than anything else, would not refuse the opportunity to know more.
"Mom, do you have anything delicious over there?"
Tang Rao suddenly changed the topic; the topics of memory and secret techniques were too heavy, so talking about something lighter made life feel easier.
"Although Heavenly Dao has imprisoned me on this Maternal Mountain and restricted my freedom, I have never been deprived of food and drink."
Fang Fang spoke truthfully; apart from losing her freedom, she lived better in there than anyone else.
"That's good, when I find a way to rescue you, I'll treat you to the delicacies of Blue Star, roast lamb, suckling pig, a full banquet, let me tell you, the food there is indescribably delicious, simply heavenly."
Tang Rao said it and even sent pictures to Fang Fang; even if she couldn't eat them, just looking at them was a feast for her eyes.
"Yes, Rao Er, when you rescue me, I'll definitely go to that place you mentioned."
Can Fang Fang really come out?
Despite many rescue attempts over the years, she hadn't been freed, and the possibility of escaping in the future seemed increasingly unlikely.
"Yes, it will happen."
Tang Rao hadn't given up; how could Fang Fang give up first?
He zoomed in, and Fang Fang could see Tang Rao's face more clearly, even his pores were visible. "Mom, you see your son's face? He's the one who's going to let you enjoy life. Before I give up, you absolutely cannot give up first, understand?"
Tang Rao saw Fang Fang's hesitation; if it weren't for Tang Rao's words, facing such an oppressive life, she might have given up long ago. When Tang Rao came back, he said those comforting words, perhaps just to ease her heart, as she hadn't even considered the possibility of going out again.
"I'm getting old, as long as I see you and your sister safe and sound, even if I die, I will have no regrets."
See, Tang Rao guessed right, Fang Fang never fantasized about the possibility of getting out.
"Mom, that joke isn't funny at all. I've married the daughters of several Island Masters already. My mentor Wu Suowei says that as long as I marry each Island Master's daughter, and make them my wife, you'll be able to come out. Just give your son a little more time; I haven't gone to the South Island yet. Daughter of the East Island Master, South Island Island Master, Central Island Island Master, I haven't married them yet. With more time, the wrongs never avenged will all be settled, all those who mistreated mom will be compensated by your son."
As long as doing these things gives Tang Rao peace of mind and reduces his guilt towards Fang Fang, he'll do everything within his power.
"Rao Er, what did you just say you did?"
Fang Fang was still reeling from Tang Rao's words; she hadn't expected Tang Rao to know far more than they imagined.
"You said that person named Wu Suowei is your mentor? He even told you that marrying each Island Master's daughter is the way to rescue me?"
"Yes, isn't it?"
Fang Fang didn't know Wu Suowei, which Tang Rao understood, but sometimes the things that guy said seemed fantastical to Tang Rao. Luckily, he had seen much of the world, so after hearing such words once or twice and finding reason in them, he slowly began to trust, but trusting Wu Suowei required a premise, which was that you must believe him the first time he speaks.
But it's rare for anyone to consistently trust Wu Suowei after believing him the first time. Even if Fang Fang had met or heard of Wu Suowei, she might not trust or like him.
"I'm quite curious about the person you mentioned, child; you know, only mom knows how to rescue me, even your father doesn't know. That person somehow knows the way to rescue me; how did you meet him, and how does he treat you?"
Such a smart, visionary person beside Tang Rao, his presence is both an advantage and a disadvantage. The drawback is, if one day Wu Suowei harbors different intentions towards Tang Rao, Tang Rao would definitely suffer a dramatic defeat at Wu Suowei's hands.
Tang Rao sensed Fang Fang's concern and confirmed that Wu Suowei hadn't deceived him previously. Finding each Island Master's daughter, making those women fall for him, was the only way to connect all the daughters and give his mom a chance to come out.
He reassured, "No problem, I don't doubt those I use, and I don't use those I doubt. He's helped me so many times at critical moments, without him, I wouldn't even know about mom's existence. If he wanted to harm me, there would be so few people in the world I can trust."
Tang Rao spent plenty of time with Wu Suowei, and he completely trusted him as a reliable person.
"Whether it's business or making friends, mom's always assured, since you say this person is reliable, mom feels more assured too."
Fang Fang sat on the grass, weaving a wreath from grass, and as she spoke, she placed the wreath on her head. Such seemingly ordinary flowers, once woven into a wreath and placed upon Fang Fang's head, even a single Xiao Hua, would become radiant.
"Mom, are those women related to you?"
Tang Rao previously heard from Wu Suowei that those women were maids by Fang Fang's side, and then nothing more. When Tang Rao tried to ask Wu Suowei again, Wu Suowei couldn't say a word. Perhaps Fang Fang knew more than Wu Suowei.
"Yes, they're closely related to me; they were once the maids I trusted the most."
She didn't hesitate to admit it; what's there to hide? Each maid by her side was clean; when they reappeared in various Island Master Mansions on each island, it was like reincarnating into a good family. Fang Fang recounted as much as she could remember. When she spoke of Heavenly Dao retaliating against the Tang Family, and her maids being forcibly expelled, the hatred in her eyes was unmistakable.
Tang Rao recovered his memory, clearly recalling what Fang Fang's maids looked like. No matter how hard he thought, he couldn't imagine their fate turning out like this.
"After I left, did Heavenly Dao send your maids all to below?
"This Heavenly Dao, there's no method to his actions, not even letting go of the maids; his means are excessive, way too excessive indeed."
