Half a year, one year, three years, five years, eight years...

No one had expected that Lin Xun's enlightenment would go on for so long, and there had been no sign of it ending till this day. “Now,” Lin Xun said, already striding over through the air. “Master, Senior Golden Cicada, please stay out during my duel with Alpha Origin. This person may well have more cards up his sleeve and he has set one foot on the threshold of the dao of life. His depths are unfathomable, so please leave him to me.”

Bodhi's heart was filled with indescribable feelings. His disciple had grown to the point where he could take care of him, his master! Of course, wasn't this what he had always wanted, to see his disciple surpass him?

“Don't worry, we won't go try to make a fool of ourselves.” The golden cicada laughed.

The three of them immediately flew out of the Hidden Domain.

“Just feeling fortunate to have an enemy like you on my path.” Alpha Origin chuckled, his gaze fixed on Lin Xun, directly ignoring Bodhi and the golden cicada.

“If by any chance you lose, it will be the end of both your life and your path,” commented Chen Xi who floated over with Chen Linkong in tow.

“You are correct, Fellow Daoist. Even though I can transform into thousands and leave myself a retreat route, I still shan't do so at this moment. After all, that would make me look like I have doubts about myself.” Alpha Origin glanced at Chen Xi. “If one doubts oneself, how would one emerge victorious from this game, right?”
