The Rebirth of Humanity

Chapter 09: The First Steps Toward Resurrection

The movement of humanity in Zeta did not stop.

Not a single hour had passed since the decree was issued without another caravan arriving on the continent.

The roads leading to the cities were teeming with people, while the skies were filled with ships and various means of transportation arriving from every direction.

The number of returning humans continued to rise.

Hundreds of thousands...

Then millions...

And with each passing day, more arrived.

The cities of Zeta were no longer capable of accommodating such an enormous influx with ease.

The local authorities began clearing vast stretches of land and preparing new areas to house the returning population.

Temporary settlements were erected.

Markets were expanded.

Food reserves were opened.

Roads and ports were reorganized.

Everything was moving.

Everything was changing.

Zeta, which had spent thousands of years as humanity's final homeland...

Was beginning to come alive once more.

In one of the great cities, an elderly man stood atop the city wall, gazing at the crowds stretching all the way to the horizon.

He spoke in a low voice:

"I have never seen this many humans gathered in one place in my entire life..."

Beside him, a young man watched the spectacle in astonishment.

"Do you think all humans will really return?"

The old man gave a faint smile.

"If things continue at this pace... Zeta will be overflowing with people before the deadline even arrives."

The young man fell silent for a moment.

Then he asked:

"But why?"

The old man looked at him.

"What do you mean?"

"Why does the Supreme Council want to gather all of us here?"

The old man did not answer.

Because, just like everyone else, he did not know.

All he knew was that a decision of this magnitude could not have been made without a reason.

Meanwhile, in other parts of Zeta...

Powerful cultivators began arriving.

The caravans did not consist solely of ordinary people.

Among them were powerful cultivators, warriors, ancient families, and individuals of considerable standing within human society.

Some arrived aboard enormous ships.

Others crossed vast distances using specialized means of transportation.

Their arrival alone was enough to draw attention.

The presence of a powerful cultivator in any city was enough to make many people feel an invisible pressure.

As time passed, it became increasingly clear that those returning were not merely ordinary humans.

All of humanity was on the move.

The wealthy and the poor.

The strong and the weak.

Merchants and warriors.

Ancient families and ordinary families.

Everyone was heading toward the same place.

Zeta.

At the same time, there was no room for rest within the headquarters of the Supreme Council of Humanity.

The officials worked without pause.

Maps covered the walls.

Reports piled up across the tables.

And whenever one report was finished, another arrived.

One of the officials hurried into the chamber.

He bowed and said:

"Another batch of reports has arrived."

Valor raised his head.

"How many regions have begun implementing the decree?"

The official answered:

"The overwhelming majority."

He then continued:

"The caravans continue arriving in Zeta, and their numbers are increasing with every passing hour."

Valor nodded.

He then looked at the map before him.

Numerous markers had appeared across the various regions.

Some indicated areas where people had already begun leaving.

Others marked cities that had completed preparations for departure.

And others represented regions still in the process of evacuating.

Valor said:

"Continue monitoring the return."

"And inform me immediately if any region ceases to comply."

The official bowed.

"Understood."

He then left.

Valor remained silent.

Thorin stood beside him.

Thorin said:

"They are returning faster than we expected."

Valor replied:

"And that is good."

He then looked at him.

"But the return is only the beginning."

Thorin understood what he meant.

He said quietly:

"The next step."

Valor nodded.

"Yes."

He then gazed toward the horizon through the chamber's window.

"We must begin the real preparations."

The Supreme Council was not merely focused on receiving the returning population.

It had also begun reorganizing everything humanity possessed.

The military forces began redeploying.

The storage facilities began cataloging their resources.

Secure areas were being designated.

And the cities began preparing to accommodate even more people.

The operation was enormous.

Humanity, which had been scattered across vast regions for thousands of years, was now being forced to reorganize itself from the ground up.

It was not an easy task.

But one thing was different this time.

There was no hesitation.

The four leaders moved as though they understood that time was precious.

As though they were waiting for something far greater than the mere return of humanity.

In one of Zeta's neighborhoods, a family stood outside their temporary home.

The father gazed at the crowded city.

His wife asked:

"Are we going to stay here?"

He answered:

"I don't know."

He then looked toward the roads stretching beyond the city.

"But it seems more and more people will keep arriving."

Their young son stood beside them.

He asked:

"Father... Is Zeta really our homeland?"

The father looked at him.

Then smiled.

"Yes."

The boy said:

"But I've never lived here before."

Silence fell for a moment.

Then his father answered:

"Neither have I."

He raised his eyes toward the sky.

"But perhaps it is time we learned why our ancestors spoke of this place for so long."

As the return of humanity continued...

Zeta began to regain something of its former appearance.

Ancient buildings that had stood abandoned began to reopen.

Roads that had gone unused for years once again became crowded.

The ports began operating at full capacity.

The markets filled with goods arriving from distant regions.

Even some areas that had remained quiet for centuries began welcoming people once more.

No one knew how long this process would continue.

But everyone felt one thing.

A new phase had begun.

Elsewhere...

Enormous ships cut through the skies.

They were not carrying humans this time.

Instead, they carried massive crates sealed shut.

Inside those crates...

Were rare resources.

Cosmic herbs.

Treasures.

Precious materials.

And objects that could not easily be found even in the wealthiest regions of Gandalia.

These resources had been gathered for a single purpose.

To restore the Monarch's body's strength.

And by order of the Supreme Council, the first shipments of resources began making their way toward the Sovereign Palace.

Time passed.

The sun disappeared beyond the horizon.

Then night descended upon Zeta.

But the continent did not sleep.

Lights illuminated the cities.

Caravans continued to arrive.

People continued to move.

And the voices of workers, officials, and warriors echoed throughout the streets.

Zeta had not experienced such vitality in a very long time.

Deep within the continent...

The Sovereign Palace remained silent.

Far from the noise of the cities.

Far from the eyes of humanity.

The first ships carrying the resources finally arrived at the palace.

The crates were unloaded one after another.

Some were sealed with intricate formations to protect their contents.

Others radiated strange auras even while still closed.

The officials stood silently before them.

They knew the value of what they carried.

Some of these resources were valuable enough to make the most powerful forces in Gandalia fight over them.

And yet...

All of this was merely the beginning.

Deep within the Sovereign Palace...

Darkness surrounded the ancient corridors.

And somewhere beyond those walls...

The first batch of cosmic treasures had reached its destination.

The moment one of the crates was opened...

A dense surge of cosmic energy erupted from within.

The aura spread through the air.

Then the System's light appeared.

[A large quantity of cosmic treasures has been detected.]

Silence followed.

Then another message appeared:

[These resources can be converted into pure cosmic energy.]

The screen paused for a moment.

Then the final words appeared:

[Does the host wish to begin the conversion?]
