Lea silently looked at the ID in her hand as she was still uncertain that this was all real.
She then looked at Liam, who was driving with a small, satisfied smile on his face, with a single thought in her mind: ’Will he allow me to lift some burden off his shoulders now?’
Lea knew the answer to that, so she turned back to the ID in her hand.
Being registered for the Hero Academy had been surprisingly easy, especially given that she was still Beta Ranked even though only her healing Factor was revealed.
She had been given a choice to move into the HA where the academy was, but she was unwilling to move away from her siblings.
"Are you sure you’ll be okay commuting to the HA every day?" Liam suddenly asked, his eyes still on the road.
"I’ll be fine," Lea answered as she leaned her head on the car’s window.
Eli, on the other hand, exhausted due to Volt running around with him, was soundly asleep.
Liam wasn’t suspicious of the hero suddenly taking interest in him; rather, he just felt a headache coming.

The drive took a couple of minutes, and the trio found themselves back in their apartment.
"I’ll take Eli to his room," Liam said, and Lea simply nodded before heading to hers; she really needed everything to sink in properly.
After tucking in his sleeping brother, the hitman returned to his room with a folder in hand, the one that held Ada’s research on Pragma batteries.
He sat on the edge of his bed, flipping through page after page of Ada’s notes.
As she said, not enough was known about Pragma to allow her to actually complete the Pragma battery, but Genesis didn’t need a completed one to know everything.
It needed knowledge, however imperfect, however theoretical, and enough imagination to fill in the rest.
Hell, he had built a working katana off nothing but old memory and a general sense of balance and sharpness.
A folder full of legitimate, if incomplete, research into how Pragma actually behaved was considerably more than that.
’Worth a try, at least,’ he thought as he put the folder down.
The concept was simple; he needed some sort of container that was capable of holding the biological energy known as Pragma.
Said container would then cause that Pragma to be multiplied, and finally, the container would allow one to use that Pragma to power their factor.
There were quite a lot of problems with this, especially when the question of how the Pragma would be multiplied and how it would be transferred back to the awakened human arose.
But Liam didn’t need to solve that.... Genesis would.
All he had to do was ensure that he had enough Pragma to make and maintain the battery; Genesis would handle the rest.
The hitman then took off his shirt and sat down cross-legged... There was no reasoning to this, but he just felt fit for this situation.
"It’s almost like I’m the MC of a cultivation novel about to open his second Dantain," he said with a chuckle before clearing his throat and turning serious.
He had chosen the container of his Pragma battery to be one of his internal organs since it’ll eliminate the need to carry it around.
But then again, what organ would be fitting?
"The heart," Liam muttered as he closed his eyes and imagined the flow of Pragma through his entire body.
Choosing the heart was a terrible choice, since a mistake would cause his death.
But the hitman was confident enough in his knowledge of human biology to ignore that risk.
With a deep breath, he imagined exactly what he wanted, and he immediately felt his Pragma moving towards his heart.
The first thing he felt was a strange tingle as his Pragma touched his heart... it was quite the weird feeling, but he didn’t allow that to distract him.
After all, this was quite the delicate part.
Soon enough, he felt the modification begin.
The strange tingling around his heart gradually intensified as the Pragma began wrapping itself around the organ.
Liam clenched his fist tightly as the process continued, and soon enough, a sudden pain arrived.
Blood suddenly started dripping down his nose, but he still didn’t let that distract him.
The process was much more delicate than he’d anticipated.
His Pragma couldn’t simply be forced into his heart; it had to be integrated with it.
Otherwise, the energy would interfere with the heart’s natural function.
And if that happened...
Well, let’s just say he’d have one less organ to worry about.
Liam carefully manipulated the Pragma, allowing it to form a thin layer around his heart, then another and another.
Slowly, Genesis allowed a small spherical structure to form around the heart, which was the base for his Pragma battery.
The bleeding intensified as blood escaped from even his lips, but the hitman still held on, determined to complete the process no matter what it took.
Soon enough, he felt Pragma being funnelled into the structure, and just as intended, it was multiplying the Pragma.
The process was almost complete.....almost.
Liam could feel the spherical structure stabilizing around his heart; a small amount of Pragma entered the structure, only for it to gradually increase.
He finally relaxed and opened his eyes, and with a smile on his bloody lips, he muttered, "It worked."
His Pragma, which previously felt like they were the size of multiple teacups, still felt the same, but now, he seemed to have a much bigger backup.
It was a strange feel, but nothing that he couldn’t get used to.
Alright
He finally stood up, stretched a bit and said, "Alright, time for some tea—"
,
Liam’s words were suddenly interrupted by the tightening in his chest, which caused him to frown. a breath
,
"Huh?" He let out a breath as he tried understanding what was happening, and he quickly did.
The Pragma inside the spherical structure was multiplying far faster than he had anticipated.
At first, it had been a trickle, then a stream and now?
It was flooding the structure.
"Shit," Liam immediately tried slowing the process down, and although the Pragma responded to his will, it was already too late.
Before he had the chance to do anything else,
Boom!
The hitman’s eyes immediately went blank after the explosion went off in his chest, and the next second,
THUD!
He fell to the floor with his body lying completely motionless.
