His rough hand traced a path down Zhang Yiyi's blue dress, gliding over her smooth back before sliding irresistibly lower, coming to rest on her pert, soft bottom.
The expensive skirt was hopelessly wrinkled, her full bottom changing shape again and again in Chen Erbao's hands.
Zhang Yiyi had never experienced such stimulation. Not only did her body go weak, but she also instinctively clamped her legs together as a strange, tingling itch seemed to spread through her.
When Chen Erbao had his fill, his hand moved lower, slipping under her skirt to grasp her full, smooth thigh.
The skin between her thighs was already growing damp. The moment Chen Erbao's palm covered the area, Zhang Yiyi jolted, a sliver of reason returning to her.
"Don't… Someone's here!"
Chen Erbao, also worried they might be seen, let go. But not before stealing several more fierce kisses, finally releasing her lips.
Gazing at her stunning face, flushed crimson in the moonlight, Chen Erbao couldn't resist planting a kiss on her smooth cheek. "Yiyi," he praised sincerely, "you're so beautiful!"
Zhang Yiyi blushed, burying her face in Chen Erbao's chest. "Is that your way of confessing?"
"You could say that," Chen Erbao said. "To be honest, I was waiting for you to confess to me."
Zhang Yiyi couldn't help but roll her eyes at him. "In your dreams…"
The sounds of another young couple getting intimate nearby made Zhang Yiyi lower her head in embarrassment. "Let's get out of here."
Chen Erbao also felt uncomfortably exposed, as if they were part of a live broadcast. He led Zhang Yiyi to the entrance and asked the valet to bring the Land Rover around.
Their classmates had all gone home, and the entrance was now crowded with strangers.
Chen Erbao was chatting with Zhang Yiyi when he caught a glimpse of a familiar figure in his peripheral vision. He turned to look, but the person was already gone.
"What is it?"
Zhang Yiyi followed his gaze.
Chen Erbao shook his head. "It's nothing. I just thought I saw the guy from the fight at the coffee shop this afternoon."
Chen Erbao had an excellent memory. 'I couldn't have been mistaken.'
Hearing this, Zhang Yiyi grew nervous. "Is he here for revenge?"
"Unlikely, unless he followed us… Besides, even if he is here for revenge, you've got me. Nothing to be afraid of!"
It was a minor thing, so Chen Erbao turned away and put it out of his mind.
A moment later, the valet pulled the Land Rover up to the entrance. The two of them got in and sped away.
"Are you going home tonight?"
Chen Erbao asked tentatively, glancing at the ID card in the center console.
Zhang Yiyi knew exactly what he meant, and her face flushed red again. "Of course I'm going home… This is… It's too fast."
Chen Erbao nodded. He hadn't planned on sealing the deal tonight anyway.
'It's better to take things slow and steady. You can't rush it.'
'Besides, Lin Zhiqing is waiting at home. If I don't go back tonight, she'll definitely get suspicious.'
"Er Bao, did you really like me back in college?"
After they had driven for a while, Zhang Yiyi, sitting in the passenger seat, gazed at Chen Erbao's profile and asked curiously.
Chen Erbao nodded. "Of course. It wasn't just me; my entire dorm liked you. But you were too dazzling back then, like a goddess. All we could do was fantasize about you in our heads. We never would have dared to actually try anything."
Zhang Yiyi sighed. "That was my problem, too. The truth is, back in college, I… I was very interested in you. But you never seemed that enthusiastic, so I was too embarrassed to say anything…"
Hearing this, Chen Erbao was speechless. 'And thank God,' he thought, 'that she didn't end up with Wang Yong.'
"Back then, I only dared to secretly imagine the two of us together before I went to sleep at night. I even dreamed about you several times…"
"Dreamed about me? What kind of dreams?"
Zhang Yiyi gave him a captivating smile, tilting her head as she looked at him.
"You know… *those* kinds of dreams…"
Chen Erbao admitted, despite his embarrassment.
Hearing this, Zhang Yiyi blushed furiously. "You… You're terrible!"
Chen Erbao gave a wry smile. "I couldn't help it. You really were the girl of my dreams. I fell for you back during freshman military training, and I liked you all the way until graduation. I still wasn't really over you. You have no idea how excited I was when you called me the other day!"
With the last barrier between them broken, their relationship had fundamentally changed.
Zhang Yiyi smiled. "College was so carefree. If you had confessed to me back then, I bet we would have been so happy together…"
She was already lost in a fantasy of what it would have been like to be with Chen Erbao in college.
But Chen Erbao had no regrets. "I could barely support myself back then. How could a poor boy like me dare to ruin a beautiful girl's future?"
"But I had money! I could have supported you. My dad gave me a huge allowance every month—I could never spend it all by myself!"
Zhang Yiyi said earnestly, blinking her eyes.
Chen Erbao roared with laughter at her words. "If your father heard you say that, his heart would surely break."
"Who cares about him…"
"…"
About two blocks from Zhang Yiyi's house, the Land Rover turned onto a quieter street.
Chen Erbao was steering one-handed and chatting away when his unusually sharp vision caught the glint of something sparkling on the road ahead.
SCREECH!
He slammed on the brakes, bringing the car to a firm stop in the middle of the road.
Caught off guard, Zhang Yiyi lurched forward. "What's wrong?"
Chen Erbao frowned. "Some inconsiderate jerk threw a bunch of nails on the road!"
He pushed open the door and got out. Walking to the front of the car, he saw the road was densely littered with coldly glinting caltrops.
A feeling of unease washed over Chen Erbao.
'Even a total jerk wouldn't just throw regular nails around, let alone caltrops like these. This kind of thing isn't easy to find.'
'Unless… someone was deliberately trying to stop a car...'
Chen Erbao straightened up and scanned the sides of the street.
The pitch-black alleyways on either side were dead silent, like gaping, bloody maws waiting to devour their prey…
"Shouldn't we just take a detour?"
Seeing Chen Erbao staring into space from the roadside, Zhang Yiyi couldn't help but get out of the car to ask.
Chen Erbao hadn't found anything out of the ordinary, so he decided to stop overthinking it. "It's fine. I'll just sweep the nails out of the way."
He started walking toward a wooden plank lying by the side of the road.
He had only taken a few steps when his brow furrowed, and he came to a halt.
"Do you smell something?"
He asked, turning back to Zhang Yiyi.
Zhang Yiyi looked puzzled. She sniffed the air, then shook her head. "No… Wait, I think I smell a faint fragrance, but it's not perfume…"
Chen Erbao took another couple of deep breaths and suddenly felt his body grow heavy. His mind became groggy, just like the first time he'd ever smoked a cigarette.
His expression changed instantly. He yelled to Zhang Yiyi, "Get back in the car! It's poison!"
The words had barely left his lips when Zhang Yiyi's body swayed. She was about to speak but collapsed to the ground with a soft THUD.
Chen Erbao's face darkened. He circulated the Spiritual Qi in his body, held his breath to focus his mind, and rushed to Zhang Yiyi's side. He scooped her up, placed her in the back seat, and shut the door before turning to stare coldly into the depths of the pitch-black alleys on either side.
The faint sound of approaching footsteps could be heard!
A knockout drug!
'Someone set an ambush for me?!!!'
